Is no one going to talk about Sora basically admitting that his memory is borked? "I'm a little hazy on the details" seems like a pretty straightforward admission that Sora's forgotten things.
I can't wait to see Sora remember Riku's sacrifice just to see his reaction, caus if this was so bad for him that he forgot about it, he'll have a break down (which might make a paralelle to when he cried when he found Riku in KH2? idk) but yea if Riku remembered his sacrifice he'd just be like "hm yea I probably did, seems like something I'd do for Sora"
a bit weird people thinking kairi is the light when she literally covers it in the frame, she is in the way of the true light, she had a hand helping but she isn't the light
I really hope KH4 tackles Sora memory and how he forgotten the true understanding of Love wuth Riku Sacrificing himself for Sora. A,so hope they tackle the Promise that was brought in in CoM. Since we are interning a new Arc for KH4 I want to see it close the Dark Seeker saga with things coming full circle and to start new ones for the Lost Masters Arc
Counter theory: Majorly unrelated theory, but what if the reason that characters directly from older final fantasy games have made their way into the universe of Kingdom hearts, is simply because attaining kingdom hearts is literally their final fantasy, but from the quadratum side with each considering their version to be reality & the other unreality? Could go at least a bit of the way to explaining why Yozura is almost identical to Noctis Lucius Caelum in FFXV, even the that way Yozura manifests his keyblade is pretty similar to Noctis manifesting a sword. Yozura wouldn't need to be anything other than ordinary person in that case, but if that's the route things are heading I'd than if he is a nobody I'd put my money on him being Noctis's. Potentially Cloud's considering he and Sephiroth were absent from KH3 altogether, but were both dlc characters for SSBU long before Sora who'd needed to complete the events of re:mind before he was able to wind up there himself, but I think that part might be a little to much of a stretch tbh 😅
Xehanort mentioned a price to be payed for using the power of waking irresponsibly. We know about Sora disappearing at the end of KH3, but what if it also included Sora's lost memories about the person most important to him aka Riku?
I feel like sora might remember riku's sacrifice in kh4. Now to what end I have no clue I just feel like that's going to play apart. Also speaking of kh4. I hope they go the rechain of memory route and give sora and riku two separate stories that go together. Cause for all purposes they do sort of have two separate story lines in kh4
I already knew about the "Riku is the Light" theory but I was very impressed by how this video pointed out things that I didn't know before! It's always nice to see more soriku theories with additional input and things to go "hmm" at that we didn't notice.
Joining the line of people who are glad more creators are talking about the weird stuff in KH3! For real, I got the feeling most don't talk about it, because it's mostly stuff to do with Sora and Riku and they don't want to acknowledge the importance of Riku and his relationship to Sora. :/ I also wanted to point out how genious it is to make the word "forgotten" in the thumbnail transparent.
I’m so happy to see someone talking about this specific part of KH3 because it has me convinced that soriku will be canon 100%. The scene with Sora and Kairi floating in the tunnel of light where he says “the light in the darkness-it was you!” And then gets pulled up by someone else, I think directly calls back to a scene in CoM where Axel tells Sora once he starts forgetting his memories, “you’ve lost sight of the light in the darkness”. The whole plot of CoM was literally that Sora originally went to Castle Oblivion looking for Riku and then the organisation manipulated him into forgetting and distracted him to look for Naminé instead, when he had never met her. So, it kinda confirms that Riku is Sora’s light in the darkness, whether he realises it or not. And literally every opportunity that he realises how much Riku means to him, he forgets. He forgot in CoM, and he forgot again in Kh3.
Oh, that reminds me..! When fentasies mentioned the eclipse in the scene with young Xehanort, this image is mirrored directly afterwards in the tunnel. Kairi is drifting infront of Rikus light, obscuring it. And right after, Sora is convinced the light came from her, though he knew otherwise before and all he could see in that moment was the corona of Rikus light. So if: 1. we take the symbolism seriously and consider the eclipse in a background a conscious design decision and hint (which we probably should with Nomura) and 2. consider the price he paid, for abusing the power of waking, is forgetting Rikus sacrifice and losing sight of his light.. then him suddenly changing his mind about who the light is, makes so much more sense..! I'm not sure if I'm ok rn 🥺😆
