  • Mason Pearson is a luxury hairbrush company that has been making hairbrushes for around 130 years. My new 100% boar bristle hairbrush is a luxury item, and brushing my hair with it sends me down memory lane. Boar bristle brushes are good for your hair because they stimulate blood flow to the scalp, clean your pores, and finely distribute your natural oils or sebum down the length of your hair. This results in shinier thicker hair with less breakage. Join me, jewelry designer Jill Maurer, as I finally unbox the Mason Pearson hairbrush that I have wanted to purchase for quite some time!

    I know this video is about a year ago and maybe you haven’t tried it so, to see the ruby colour of the handle try flashing a light behind it and you will see that there’s a red reflection through and through.

    You’ll love it! When I purchased from Neiman Marcus they recommended the pocket pure bristle for my fine hair. Carry it in a makeup pouch in my bag always. The tangle teaser or vented brush is reserved for wet hair. I adore your bag storage and the wood stain color!

    I have two the smaller one is for travel it is the only brush I ever use on my hair I think my brushes are 40 years old I admit I don’t clean them every day but I do clean them with the item you purchased as well. Back in the day the brush cost around $100. Over the years I have lost maybe one or two bristles can’t even notice really however the shiny black handle has gotten scratched which does does not affect the performance of the brush I cannot use any of those hard plastic brushes they just rip my hair to pieces. I hope you like your brush

    For cleaning the brush, could I use a drop of dawn soap mixed with warm water instead of shampoo? Most shampoos have oils in them that coat the hair. Whereas dawn soap removes all oils including the oils from your hair that the brush soaked up.

    • @BoundlessEyes
      @BoundlessEyes 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nooo, please don't do that! Too harsh and may coat bristles with residue, ultimately dehydrating them. If absolutely necessary and warm water alone didn't do it, I would use something like a couple of drops of Johnson's baby shampoo, or a gentle unscented shampoo for 'sensitive scalp' etc. Avoid hot water, rinse immediately and very thoroughly, and air-dry bristles facing downwards on a towel.

    I cannot, nor will I ever, be able to justify the price on this brush.
    I have been through tons of boar bristles and the best brush I have cost $40.
    I have used (never owned) a MP and I see absolutely no difference between my $40 and the $200 one.
    Ridiculous.
