In the late 20th Century, the famous Beverly Hills hairdresser Jose Eber himself gave me a Mason Pearson brush, and I still use it today. I am so stoked that I'm going to be one of those old ladies that tells personal stories that include the phrase "in the late 20th century".
i'm always confused by the centuries. My grandmother was born in England around 1890 something. She had my mum late. My mother had me "late"". My grandmother could remember people still talking about Jack the ripper. ( I think he may have finished by then, but people still talked because it was such a big case.). Can i say my Grandma was born two centuries ago? heee.:)
I have a handbag sized Mason Pearson brush which was made by my husband, who worked for the company in England back in 1971. The employees were permitted to take one item if they wanted to. It is made with pure bristles and I love using it to give my hair a great shine. I saw the large one a couple of years ago in a TJ Maxx, and it was priced at well over $1-200.00! I also have a handbag sized white Denman hairbrush and love that also.
I splurged on a Dark Ruby mixed bristle Mason Pearson from EBay after coveting one since the 90s. I found out Jane Seymour swears by hers and wanted it ever since. I figure I deserve one after going through chemo and losing all my beautiful hair a few years ago! It is now longer than it has been in years and I have my Mason Pearson!! 💕 I love your channel, Laura
Mason Pearson still makes certain models in a lightwood backed design by request, custom ordered. Go to MP website for email address for brochure & prices & how to place your order.
@@oolongteaforjoyluck17 hello can you provide the link it seems that it only takes me to the distributor in New York and they’re mostly sold out. How do I request a wooden one ?
Thank you for this video. I love my Mason Pearson brush and it was so nice to hear the history. I have mine for over 15 years and still like new. You just need to clean it.
Hello dear!May I ask, what do you actually mean by stating "...to clean it"? You mean:no washing the brush?! Thank you in advance, sending you wishes for a nice Friday &a pleasant weekend❕💙💌
@@ramfaki1256 I have a special hair remover to take out the excess hair and wash the brush from time to time. It keeps it in good condition. If you do that, you will have the brush for a long time.
I loved this about hairbrushes I have a paddle hairbrush from Avon Cosmetics and I have had it for about 20yrs or more and it's still like new no wear or tear so I have never thought of replacing it xx
I love my Mason Pearson it’s so nice on the scalp and it makes the hair look really shiny and pretty . If I have granddaughters I plan on getting them each one . So glad you did vintage brushes ❤️
Ugh, they're all lovely. I've always wanted a Mason Pearson brush, but unshockingly, I couldn't afford it. Is it possible some more affordable options to some of these beautiful brushes? Maybe give some background info on them as well?
I looked up the brand of hairbrush I've been using since I was a child, Isinis of France, and they started in 1909. I think my first one lasted 25 years, until the rubber that holds the bristles gave out. They're a bit pricey, but worth it for how long they last.
I have a cream denman brush I bought in the 60’s for back combing my hair to make a beehive hairstyle.Still use it today to back comb my hair but not as intense as for a beehive.
Enjoyed to video! I use a Wet Brush, I love it! I definitely notice the different between other ones in a similar price range, it definitely glides thought the hair and detangles well. I have the regular and one with boar bristles added to it.
I love your channel Laura, I just recently got your subscription and I’m happy to be supporting your channel!!! I can’t wait to get the vintage valley of the dolls palette!
I've used a Jean-Pierre made in France for the longest time. They've been around since the 60s. Very nice brush! I also use a Denman for brushing out my wet sets. It's the perfect brush for that.
I haven't used a hairbrush in probably almost two years. Since I stopped relaxing my hair, I'm getting used to my natural hair texture & trust me, brushes have gotten caught up in there! XD I need to find one suitable for my hair & I finally acknowledge that it may mean spending more than $7! LOL No such luck yet though.
These brushes , as of the highest quality, are very pricey and unfortunately I have not been able to afford them to try them. But hey, they are great, I am sure ! 💥

That mason brush is beautiful sadly those brushes only work on good hair 😢 My hair is mixed meaning my hair is thick, frizzy all over and my hair looks always electrocuted lol!!! I have to use cantu brand to get my jungle mane in control and still looking for the perfect brush meaning looking for one that will brush through my hair easily & won't hurt 😬🌞 Lovely video btw🌈✌💃 -Mercy(I am using my dad's account at the moment)
For cleaning the mason pearson brush, could I use a drop of dawn soap mixed with warm water instead of shampoo? Most shampoos have oils in them that coat the hair. Whereas dawn soap removes all oils including the oils from your hair that the brush soaked up.
Why do you ask this same exact question on every single Mason Pearson review video? Stop being weird. People have answered you many times on other videos.

I think a nice hair brush always makes a fabulous gift. It's not something people usually would buy for themselves.

Hi catmama💌❕😻
I wish Mason Pearson still made their hairbrushes with rosewood. My grandmother has one and it’s beautiful but she will NOT give it to me. Lol 😂

A denmann mixed bristle cushion brush works very similar, I’m in love with mine. The handle isn’t quite as sturdy but the bristles feel great
I use a D81L I think
Look into Kent brushes.

Great video :-)
I've used mostly goody combs and brushes:-)
Thanks so much
Goody lasts forever
I have a small Mason Pearson brush.
Hey, Laura ! You are great ! 💥🌹✨🌹🌹🌹💥✨💥
I like the Denman type brushes it good for massaging the scalp to hair growth, good for black hair detangler, and it works very well with wigs.
Mirta de Perales Perales Medium hair brush should be on this list. It is a classic among Hispanics.
Laura, what is the pretty music you play in the background of your videos?

Stop with the good hair talk. Your hair is lovely too you just need to figure out how to best take care of it.
Which brush did you use and like the best?
For cleaning the mason pearson brush, could I use a drop of dawn soap mixed with warm water instead of shampoo? Most shampoos have oils in them that coat the hair. Whereas dawn soap removes all oils including the oils from your hair that the brush soaked up.
I usually use a good clarifying shampoo or hand soap. I’m sure a drop or two of dish soap would be good

As a woman with natural hair, the denman brush literally tears my hair apart and I don’t understand it 😩😩
Very interesting wow.
Does a pure boar brush get into your scalp??
Only if you brush in smaller sections.
