    After doing five years of ATMs and receiving FIs during that time, they lessoned the pain in my lumbar, thoracic stenoses, and my herniated cervical spine. Last year two cervical and two thoracic vertebrae fused and I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylosis and bamboo spine after a six week unrelated stay in three hospital. As I'd been doing more ATMs during the pandemic, I've found some relief but nothing seemed to give me the same relief as I started Feldenkrais lessons. Not until I did this lesson last night for the first time. Today I had no residual pain. Thank you David Zemach Bersin. If I were a rich man (yiddle diddle deedee diddle diddle diddle diddle sum) and haf the money, I'd follow you around like a needy puppy for FIs twice daily because I refuse to have spinal surgery. My last surgeon and osteopath were surprised I still had so much flexibility in my thoracic and cervical spine. When I stated I'd been doing Feldenkrais's for over 15 years, both individually responded, "What's that?" Smh. I told them to giggle it. That was over ten years ago. In this lesson initially I put my attention on parts of my spine which used to hurt. Tonight I let go because they didn't hurt anymore tonight and put more attention on the other parts of the vertebrae. Now I can roll to my side without a chair's help to stand and feel as if I could do do modern dance like I used to in my 20s. Now in my 60S, I'm not deluded to roll on the floor like a serpent. I learned my Feldenkrais lessons well. Thank you again.

    I have bèen doing Feldenkrais for quite a while, and some of Davids lessons more recently, but this lesson was one of the exceptional ones. I love that snake like feeling and am hopeful it will change patterns in my back. For the first time, I actually purchased a Feldenkrais video course, I just went and bought this course. Have done live and Zoom classes previously. Great work David!!!

    Fantastic, it also takes me to the same places craniosacral therapy treatments take me. Primal and primitive patterns. I had my feet resting on dinosaur bones as I did this lesson (my partner digs them up). I was swimming this afternoon so it felt like I went into marine reptile territory.

    😊 I love this lesson so much! I always come back to it and add am surprised all over again how much it does too balance, loosen, release and restore a feeling of well-being in my whole body.
    It’s my go to lesson if I have a big event and I need to just lie for a while and prepare myself. I feel more clarity and focus… It’s just an amazing lesson. ❤

    I can appreciate that these techniques can temporarily heighten ones awareness of a particular structure, or connection in the body. From my experience with the method I think it may to ephemeral and sutble an intervention to fix damage or remedy trauma.

      The Feldenkrais Method is not for everybody, it's true. That said,, there are those who have indeed found relief from physical and psychological issues, and for many, it has been the only thing that worked for them after a long list of other interventions. Finding a good practitioner is key. Perseverance furthers.

      I dont think you should underestimate the power of these subtle movements and reflection, doing Feldenkrais has reduced my back pain by far and it is still improving.

    Thank you for the lesson.
    Question: can this lesson be repeated daily to help with multiple issues in the lumbar and thoracic spine?.✌️

    • @MovementCreativity
      @MovementCreativity  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi - Feel free to repeat the lesson as often as feels good to you! Of course consult with your doctor if you have any concerns about that. In my experience, engaging in a variety of lessons is supportive as our brains/ bodies love novelty. when David said to move the vertebrae to the side (I must want to be sure) he means to slide it a small distance along the floor , not to twist it? So the vertebra stays parallel, correct? Thanks!

      @@MovementCreativity hmmm I did most of this lesson from the Access site, thinking the point was to rotate each vertebrae, one at a time. Then when David started talking about how fish move...I thought-- that's not at all what I am up to. So I went in search of more comments and found this on youtube. I'll need to re-visit this lesson. Thanks Tedi for asking the question!

    I found this lesson helpful, but I'm wondering how much moving the vertebrae is a matter of imagination and intuiting, and how much is actual physical movement? I think physically I can feel groups of vertebrae, but harder to feel individual ones physically, but I can intuit them.

    • @MovementCreativity
      @MovementCreativity  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, imagine and intuit!

      @@MovementCreativity Thankyou for the response. I have a lot of osteoarthritis in my cervical and thoracic spine, and after doing this lesson there were 'clicks' and a feeling of release and greater freedom of movement. I do a Feldenkrais lesson every day, and I will make sure to do this one regularly. 🙏🙏❤️

    This is frustrating. I cannot move one vertabrae at at time. I simply cannot. So I just feel deeply frustrated.
    Maybe I just misunderstand.

    • @MovementCreativity
      @MovementCreativity  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The invitation is to imagine one vertabrae moving, but of course more than one vertabrae will move. It is a very specific way of using your attention. Perhaps explore some other lessons on this channel and then if you are curious to revisit this lesson at another time, you could notice what's different the 2nd time around, with letting go of the idea of "doing" it or being good at it, but more imagining and playing in this way....
