    Will you try this method? Have you tried this method before? I'd love to hear how it goes for you.

      Hundreds of applications sounds like A LOT and like we might have a career clarity issue at hand - what is your target job?

      @@thatswhatshesaid I'm switching careers. I work in healthcare in direct patient care and want to switch to remote work with a healthcare company either as a medical records specialist or data entry.

    This is great advice.
    I've been doing this lately as I search for a new career. But even if the recruiter likes you, it's the hiring manager that makes the final decision.

    • @thatswhatshesaid
      @thatswhatshesaid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! That’s true, but recruiters have a great deal of influence in the hiring manager’s decision as the hiring manager sees them as an advisor/partner.

    Hello Kamara, thank you so much for the informative video. If a company has no person from a talent or recruiting background on LinkedIn, who should I contact? Can I message a technical member of the same team I applied to? Anything specific I should say to that person? Please help.

      Great question! Yes I would reach out to whomever seems like the most likely hiring manager/future supervisor. If they have any HR at all, then I would look for and reach out to their HR Generalist or HR Coordinator as well.

    hey thanks for the video. so i tried to implement this approach and i think the search behavior now is different, i couldn't search more than one work in the search box. so in this case do you have and ideas of how i should find the required recruiter??

    • @thatswhatshesaid
      @thatswhatshesaid  ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you clarify what you mean “couldn’t search more than one work”?

    • @benyamin4634
      @benyamin4634 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thatswhatshesaid sorry for the typo. i wanted to say that the linked-in search behavior has changed. if you go to the people tab in a company you can see that you can't search more than one "word" in the search input. any ideas on how to find out the recruiter with just one word???

    • @thatswhatshesaid
      @thatswhatshesaid  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benyamin4634 understood. I think I see what you mean. Depending on what your target role is, I would try "recruiter," then "sourcer," then "talent acquisition," "technical recruiter" if you're targeting a technical role. If you're a new/recent grad try "campus recruiter." There are many potential and it comes down to getting to know what different specialties name their recruiters.

    Is it okay to reach out to multiple people with basically the same message? I am having a really hard time narrowing down who the right person to contact is.

    • @thatswhatshesaid
      @thatswhatshesaid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Though I'd aim to customize it a bit (ie. include a sentence that mentions why you are reaching out to that specific person and make sure you tailor it for each person you reach out to).
      That way you can prevent looking "spammy".

    What if you know who the hiring manager migtt HT be , but unable to pinpoint the recruiter? Is it ok to reach out to the hiring manager?

    • @thatswhatshesaid
      @thatswhatshesaid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! In this case, yes go right to the hiring manager since you only know who they are. But when they send you/introduce you to recruitment/talent acquisition, continue to go through recruitment/talent acquisition as your central point of contact.

    Can we filter recruiter in the same way in linkedin app ? I didn’t see the same option in app

    • @thatswhatshesaid
      @thatswhatshesaid  ปีที่แล้ว

      No but the main search will still render decent results. Try [company name] recruiter or [company name] talent acquisition.
