    Hi Andy. LinkedIn certainly is a wonderful tool for building networks. I devoted the entire weekend to sending out invitations to connect. I suppose this is where LinkedIn really gets tricky. I received a notification that I am a "power user" and was subsequently cut off from viewing further potential connections (laughing as I'm writing this). Since it is the beginning of the month, I will now have to wait at least 3 weeks before starting the process again, OR pay close to $50/month for unlimited searches as a Premium user. Just wanted to share this. Thanks for tirelessly posting your great videos!

I could research topics and try to summarize them into these mini-blogs, but I don't see what value that content would provide; I wouldn't be presenting anything novel. Is it more about just showing that I've put effort into learning about the industry?

    Hi Andy, John Schmit here. Thanks for the suggestions here but regarding your ideas for the 'dynamic side', I'm a little bit dubious about the amount of time required to create original content on LinkedIn. With the sort of things that I have expertise in, I could not create anything worthwhile in 30 minutes. I've read some posts by people who are slapping things up on LinkedIn, presumably to generate more traffic for their profile. Regarding most of these articles, I have found them to be so vacuous that it caused me to have a negative view of the author which obviously is not conducive to a future business or employment opportunity. None the less, thanks for the video.

    • @andylacivita
      @andylacivita  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      John, Interesting perspective. I think you can do several things to accommodate and put out a quality piece. There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting out a 5 part piece. Break it down into little pieces. Generate the content. Write one piece a week for month and so forth. They don't need to be long, but they should be valuable. Also, I would suggest spending an hour or longer if you need to!

    Andy! I love your content so much!! Quick question, if I currently have a job title as a secretary but want to pursue a career in the music industry (I mentioned this on my Linkedin profile but not my summary) should I change the job title or should I add both titles?

    Can a 45 years old person also get a entry level job after learning Power bi basics. No experience no IT Background jobless. No friends circle and community. Am I wasting the time or still have a chance in this field. Please suggest. Your guidance would be helpful to me. Thanks

      I've been watching your webinars and the content is FANTASTIC!!
      Question: How should I open My Linkedin profile to be found on Google and potential employers and still keep a measure of privacy? I understand if I put my profile out on the web that anyone will be able to find me... Is that a good thing?

    I'm looking to get a software engineer or developer job next year when I graduate with my bachelor's in computer science. I just created a LinkedIn and I've had people that work at Amazon connect with me. I hope someone offers me a job only problem is...I live in a rural area AKA the middle of nowhere.

    I wanted to say thank you for making this video. I plan to push even harder to make some connections in my new home town. I moved here for a promotion as a general manager and realized after a few months the job wasn't what I expected. I've been looking to find another job, but as I said I'm still pretty unfamiliar with my town, and I've always been kind of an introvert. I'm hoping by using your advice I can break out of that, at least enough to get my foot in the door and meet some great new people.

    Andy, thank you for a great insight. As I am trying to go through all your videos, I was able to increase my connections and reached out to few recruiters implementing your techniques, but all I don't get many responses or recruiters suggested I apply directly to other recruiters...I am quite lost from there...I need to listen to your videos multiple times to understand how this process works. As always, thank you and looking into mileswalk program as I am learning :-)
