Everyone mentions to include HOW your job role moves the needle for the companies bottom line. For example, supported x-team to increase sales by 11%. If we do not have company figures results for our work, HOW ELSE can we "communicate OUR VALUE to the success of the company" so it sounds MORE than task driven accomplishments? Very good advice! One thing that everyone is suffering about is actually getting “quantifiable metric” or impact. Working to make an impact is one thing but getting quantifiable metric is whole another work. Usually this information is not available to the hands-on working person, but with the manager level, unless a manager actively shares.
I honestly wonder why this channel does not have at least 300k subs. I don't comment on videos, but you definitely deserve way more recognition for that level of detail in these videos. Keep up the awesome work!
Chill out. I’d rather this channel has a low subscriber count since TH-camrs tend to get complacent and cocky after gaining over 100k subs and you’ll notice the drastic drop in quality. So nope please stay low subs. I’ll just be watching but not subscribing.

This is what the stilly-cooked unemployment rate of 4-5% is still missing - competition with "employed" current job hunting as well. It helps to ask "how many people absolutely love their job?" and "how many are not looking for other work at all?" - these numbers seem much higher than a mere few extra percentage points to add to that unemployment rate. Also there are estimates that at-least 1/4 of the working population isn't actually making ends meet right now and are only doing part-time or gigs. Ultimately, what percent of the entire working population is job hunting? Probably a large portion and I'd guess at-least 1/3...
Haven't commented yet on your videos but I would like to say your positive go-getter energy is infectious and very motivating, and all your videos are filled with the perfect advice for people. Thank you so much for deciding to do this channel! I wish it maximum success!!
Here's a question for you. In a lot of cases, a designer might know how they helped a team or project or whatever, and may even know their work made a positive impact, but may not have access to metrics like "raised by 15%." What should we include as an effective alternative to putting numbers into our achievements?
Tbh I think people just randomly put any number they want becuase AI is looking for these numbers...this is so frustrating. I have the same problem as you, so I totally relate
The problem is..most people looking for jobs are currently employed and they don't want their current employer to know their looking. This is why people hide their profiles from a search

Wish you would advise on level entry jobs with no experience. My graduate daughter is currently looking for a job with no luck at all. It appears that most junior roles require some kind of experience. She’s getting desperate.
So, linked in profile, replaces a resume ? Then, put it on facebook also , put it on social media huh.. people in fact put all their resume content on linkedin but at the end of the day only the interview process determines THE candidate to be hired and a RESUME is referred to 1-1 during interview and not linked it. So RESUME is still gold copy linked is not and tbh only few have gained from linked in same ads every now and then appear months after months.
2:00 - yeah.. reducing the entire professional life to the collection of keywords: java, developer, c++., manager. Nobody really cares to read the full profile and think of a new job as a life changing event. It is all reduced to keyword match.
You are right, that’s how recruiters use LinkedIn Recruiter to initially find people. Just like when you use Google to do a keyword search. It’s the same process. Then when we find profiles we scan them and if the profile looks interesting then we will spend more time reading and reach out 😀
@@Farah_Sharghi I’m not sure I get that point. What you’re suggesting for us to do under our Experience section on LinkedIn is typically what goes under your résumé to highlight your experience. Not describing what you’ve done defeats the purpose of a résumé. I’m sure you can agree a lot of people can’t afford to reveal details of their achievements (IP reasons, NDA reasons) on a semi-public platform, as opposed to a private résumé. If you’re directly applying, are you saying that a résumé with all those details will be discarded in favor of a LinkedIn profile with those details instead?
I don't understand the importance of Linkedin or any similar social media site. I mean so what if you lie and say the same thing in 2 places does that make it more believable? Do recruiters think that you will send one so-called specific tailored resume to them and forget what you put on Linkedin or told somebody else? Are social media checks for recent 22 year old college grads? Does anybody expect someone middle aged applicant to act ridiculously where everyone can see it including the recruiter and then reject it early enough in the process so that it was always "somebody else" we selected instead of some illegal reason? And yes you got it, I am a homeowner, the better kind of homeowner, the one with the house paid off . . .
And what was the reason a recruiter would post a job ad then ignore the people that showed interest and applied to it, and go hunting random people instead, again?

Hey Farah❤, my brother is looking for a graphic design job, but he has limited time on his OPT-just one month left-and he's not receiving any responses. We're feeling frustrated. He has everything ready, including a strong resume, cover letter, portfolio, and has reached out to HR. It's a critical time for his visa status. He's really talented, but he needs help with connections. I think you would be a great person to discuss this with. Let me know if you're available!😢
My advice is something you may not want to hear. He may need to go back to school to get a degree in something where he can get sponsored after graduation. Accounting & STEM. H1Bs are for people with a skillset not easily found in the current workforce and with the current labor market there are a lot more people than there are jobs and many of them don’t require sponsorship. Sponsorship costs companies time and money and I’m sure your brother is great but this is the current reality. I wish him luck
Hi Farah, thank you for your advice! I just wanted to clarify that my brother is currently on an F1 visa with OPT, so he's not looking for sponsorship right away. He has an associate degree in graphic design and is just hoping to secure a job to make use of his OPT time period. He has about a month left on his OPT, so we're trying to find opportunities within his field. If you have any further advice or know anyone who could help him connect with a job, we would really appreciate it! Thanks again for your support.

They’re different bc resumes are targeted and LinekdIn profiles are where you can describe more about what you’ve done
