For the people that don't know, the cholera was back in 2022 in Syria, tartous and ladkia. We were very sacred at first and many restaurants and grocery shops closed being terrified of it. But we managed to cure everyone and work against it. Thanks for spreading awareness ❤
Cholera is going to pop up now and again no matter what happens. Most people who come into contact with it don't get sick, but it takes just one person to begin spreading contamination everywhere. Stepping up your sterilization game is a must when Cholera is around. The salt/sugar water in this video is basically Pedialyte without the flavor, and it is critical in such a situation. Nobody in a first-world country is going to carry around chlorine drops casually, but it's important in less-developed areas of the world. A contaminated cistern was responsible for the Cholera outbreak that John Snow figured out was leaking into pumped well water and causing serious deaths in the area, back in the 1800's. He got them to remove the pump handle for a time, and proved that it was indeed the source of the outbreak. He had to go to great lengths in an era where germ theory wasn't yet understood.
Very graphic, but I think that in this case, like the Ebola video, that graphic animation is important. Never underestimate the power of a deadly disease.
We need to salute the kid, especially he saved his dad and their village of Cholerae Virus, becoming a hero is good for all, we can spread the good word deeds of our mind, especially for people who is in or like that un-urbanized areas.
This is good, education is important. The media is a powerful way to educate people, it was a smart move to make this video to educate people about things.
watching this video after 9 years since it was made. I'm a doctor and it's amazing to see that how change in small habits saved so many lives. Now these habits has integrated to our lives so much that we can't imagine living without these habits. For instance, I can never imagine myself touching anything without washing my hands after using toilet.
I know some people whom for some reasons I cannot get rid of that don't do wash their hands. It's so disgusting and unsafe to be with them, but they cannot bother to wash properly, or at all. I don't know why people lack conscience to wash their darn hands for 30 seconds, even if it's annoying. What's so hard about doing it? You said, the WHO said, and I also say, small habits (like washing hands) save lives, but many people just won't cooperate.
i came from the story of ebola i really enjoyed both videos they are very educational and also they arent too dark i mean i dont see in the video death everywhere so kids could watch it too
For those saying it is graphic it is not graphic compared to the reality of the situation. Thank you Yoni for spreading awareness and awesome animation
I love this video and as a Public Health student I have to admit that i was totally ignorant to how bad the problem of Cholera was until I was assigned to investigate the role it plays in under 5 mortality. It is so important to do the work that this kid did. Imagine what an effect it would have if we all joined forces. If only governments played their part and sorted out their infrastructural challenges specially during the rainy season in parts of Africa
Great video. Thanks so much. I use this video when I babysit to show how important it is to wash hands, etc. I'm babysitting my 5 yr old nephew, right now, and he loves to watch this video over and over :)
🐾🖤Back then never thought washing hands was important because yes we can get sick but we can easily just get better just by drinking medicine but now that the world is on lockdown and that we are in a pandemic I now know that washing my hands, face and food is important🐾🖤
This is the best examples of Animation for Development that I've seen recently. It is clear and timely and has the potential to work in similar Cholera emergencies in years to come. Well done.
Clearly, a very good reminder to people that diseases can be brutal and do anything to spread and kill... Too bad some parts of the world, especially you America, did not listen and remember the situations.
Great video and animation! Who would have ever guessed that the nurse had the recipe for Gatorade. The lightning bolt in the jar at 2:00 was a nice touch.
I want to be like the kid in the video, for that I also want the people in my city to cooperate and stop being stubborn, I want more and more people to watch these videos and understand the grimness of these outbreaks
I love how it starts black and white and when it starts becoming happy it gets colored to represent that it was really happy and that now the village and villagers are safe
Media like this should always get first pick of funding and distribution, especially in areas and countries where this is a big problem.
what i love about this is that it isn't overly graphic, it's just telling the truth in a calm and accurate way

I never knew washing your hands was so important
Really? Washing your hands is always important.
Many deadly diseases are spread through unwashed hands....everything from the flu, to typhoid, to ebola.
Washing your hands helps you keeping away germs or bacteria
I know!
