The fact that the bear seems to represent a childhood that was literally taken from the mother at a young age is sad, but when the mother gave her daughter her own bear that was in much better condition it showed how the mom was going to give her daughter a better childhood
@King what the fuck? Are you saying that getting an arranged marriage is better? You do know that these kids are young and barely know the meaning of marriage right? And it’s not just marriage and housing, you have to deal with their shit, do all the housework, and most likely get abused. I really don’t know what the “sweet deal” you see here is. Marriage isn’t fucking important when everything you have you hate. And if you’re a man you most definitely should not be talking.
I hate when people say it's a culture thing so we should respect it. Culture can change over the years and should change when it involves harming others especially children.
A great person once said "Culture doesn't make people. People make culture." I felt that it is absolutely true; we should continue to doing some things like respecting others, etc. but stop what is wrong and painful like child marriage. Hats off to the brave mother and her child.
both, people and culture influate each other. Pedophilia can be a cultural thing (japan), or a personal thing (US), it doesn't matter though, pedophilia is something you can use reason to argue that it's evil
Yeah, we need to understand others' cultures, but in no place on Earth is the unfair suffering of others not an awful, cruel thing. People of all countries should have their dignity preserved, and when we accept this sort of cruelty as simply someone's culture or tradition, we are deciding that the people who do these things are above the people who suffer from them. The women and children of Pakisthan shoul have the right to have a say about their country's culture too, we shouldn't listen just to the people who want to keep them voiceless.
I’m an early childhood educator, and the subject of child marriage always makes me want to cry because I know so very, very well how important it is for a child to have the time and space to progress developmentally in a supportive setting. Child marriage steals all that away from them.
I’m an early childhood educator too and child marriage is so disturbing. No child should have to go through it. Children need to play, not get married.

People say that child at 11 years old get married off because they get their period so it’s a sign that they are ready for pregnancy. No their not. Yes in the mental sens they’re not ready at all but also in the physical sense. There are girls who lost their womb due to a young pregnancy, people younger than 20 who became very sick, who even died because while the logic was there, it wouldn’t work in reality. My mother for example got a severe chronic injury in her back that’ll never heal by giving birth to me, and she was 22 or 23 so imagine a girl of 14. This is straight up abuse. Not only are they making a child work, they’re also exploiting her organs, they’re destroying her health for selfish purposes. Not to say its clearly pedophelia, especially if the girl marries a man who can be her father. Why do they treat woman and man differently? I want to ask the parents, so your son is your child but your daughter is not? They all came in this world the same way, why do you treat your daughter like a thing and your son like human? If you don’t consider every one of your child a treasure, you shouldn’t even be allowed to get children.

My grandma "met" her first husband when she was 12, then as part of their marriage agreement she attended school 2 more years, then married a month after graduation. My mom had kids early on, so my grandma was raising me, my siblings, and her own kids. She refused to let my mother sell us into marriage, she demanded that all of us finish highschool, was extremely proud when everyone in my generation attended college (not all of us graduated), and before she died she was always telling all of her grandkids how proud and happy she was that we all were living lives that she had never even dreamed of hoping for and that all of us girls were dating/choosing who we marry. Yes also in rural areas some parents would've wedded their children before they even turn 18? Which is illegal because our consent and legal age of marriage is when they're 19. Mostly because family's struggling economically and have so many children so it's the easiest way to get rid of them especially the daughters. Not only that some people that's not from rural areas or because their economic reason are also glorifying underage marriage, think that it's completely normal.
Why only daughter? Why not sons?? Daughter earns more than sons... I am lucky to have an open minded family.. They are very nice and has expectations from me and I will fulfil it... But the question arise why not men are sold?? This discrimination is in india too.... We should have nice thinking about girls........
It’s crazy how life-altering these things are. My grandma got married at 18 so she wasn’t underage, but she knew my grandfather for only a couple weeks before the marriage and then BOOM, she spends every day of the rest of her life with him. & even at 19 she really struggled with being a mom, I can only imagine what a 14 year old would feel - this is so sad!

Yes you are right. As a boy, I can understand that how curel are these boys which think them as the most powerful and they forget to respect women. Women is Shakti (Power) and without Shakti this world is useless. If our mothers are not there in our life no one will be there and no one can survive. Feel proud to be a girl. Goddess Durga is also Shakti and killed the demon Mahishasura, Goddess Kali killed Chanda and Munda., Raktabeeja, Shumbha and Nishumbha. Life is useless without a mother. Brothers can't take care of their siblings as compared to sisters. Even after criticising Lordess Annapurna (Goddess who fulfilles the food) Lord Shiva had to beg in front of Lorddess Annapurna to get food. If you will read Devi Mahatmyam or Devi Saptashati you will know that women is the real Shakti not the men. Shaktas (Follower of Shakti, Denomination of Hinduism), are the devotees of Shaktim
Mahishasura got boon from Brahma (Supreme God of Hinduism) as Brahma got pleased by Mahishasura's deep meditation. He wanted to be immortal. Lord Brahma booned him and said, 'Neither a Lord or Man can kill you). When the devtaas in heaven asked Lord Brahma that why did he give that boon then he said, 'He will die in the hands of women'. The devtas pleased Adi Shakti Devi Durga and she killed Mahishasura. From that time onwards, she is known as Mahishasuramardini (The Lady who killed Mahishasura). Maa Kali also an avatar of Shakti killed the Raktabeeja, a demon who got the boon that when even a single drop of blood falls on the land, thousands of Raktabeeja will born. Maa Kali killed raktabeeja and drank his whole blood without falling a single drop of blood. Maa kali is Shmashan Charini. She notifies a person that she'll also take care of his son even after his child's death and waits for them in cremation ground. Mata Sarswati, Goddess of Knowledge, Mata Laxmi who is the Goddess of Wealth are the avatars of Shakti.
It usually happens. My neighbors were having a tradition of having their kids married when they attain puberty. It goes the same for both boys and girls. One day my mother appointed a maid at our house and we asked for her age. We were totally surprised that she was 8 when she got engaged with someone and than got married at the age of 12. She was 14 when she carried a baby in her womb and now she was expecting again. My mother taught her about the abnormalities of our society and took a promise from her that she will break the taboo and educate her daughter.
my grandma got married when she was 14 and had a baby at the age of 16, she had a very hard life in afghanistan and went through a lot of terrible things. She had six children, one of whom died in infancy, my uncle have developmental delays, and my aunt was kidnapped by her future husband. I legit mouthed "DAMN" when I reached the part about OP's mom having her first child at 14. 14, that's literally my age, the thought of raising a child in a strained marriage cannot possibly be bearable for any 14 year old. No child deserves this man
Why would you send your daughter whom you apparently 'love' to a stranger who abuses her at such a young age. She needs a childhood life, a teenage life then adulthood where she can make her own decision. This needs to stop.
Normally I respect any culture no matter how different or strange it is. But let's face it, this is one tradition that no one should respect or encourage. We're all still human regardless of culture. And children are still children.
The fact that the bear seems to represent a childhood that was literally taken from the mother at a young age is sad, but when the mother gave her daughter her own bear that was in much better condition it showed how the mom was going to give her daughter a better childhood

My grandma, who's passed away 7 years ago, got married at the age of 14. She couldn't go to school and she could barely read, but I could see the will in her eyes which made her to want to read. She didn't limit my mother, she did anything to provide her to go to school. My mother married a 24-year-old man at the age of 23 (she is 54 now). Well I cannot say that their relationship is so good but my mom's happy with her children.
I never understood it growing up, but as an adult and realizing that a lot of our cultural traditions aren't the average experience for people; especially in America, I've really grown to understand and appreciate everything

It breaks my heart to see girls from the ages of like 9-13 getting married at such a young age. Yes also in rural areas some parents would've wedded their children before they even turn 18? Which is illegal because our consent and legal age of marriage is when they're 19. Mostly because family's struggling economically and have so many children so it's the easiest way to get rid of them especially the daughters. Not only that some people that's not from rural areas or because their economic reason are also glorifying underage marriage, think that it's completely normal.
remind me of my friends (poor woman) who married at 15 years old to 30 years old rich man (second wife)

my mother was 16 and my father was 24 when they got married forcefully by their families and i was born when my mother was 18..... so it's really sad that i wasn't able to do anything for them, but they are trying their best to give me everything i deserve and they are also trying hard so that whatever happened to them, doesn't happened to me.
dude my aunt married 17
When my grandma was 12 she got married
Such a crazy thing in our society
Stop child marriage
My gamma got married when she was 11 and my great grandmother was 13 years old when she got married
@??? ??? hmmm actually you know for us it's cruel but for them it was everything even my mom ..... Even though she wasn't a child when she got married but still the mindset was there ..... I think it depends on generations
@@pheonix9821 it doesn't depend on generations, more so their mindsets and how they think, because it's not the generations that did this, it was their mindsets
How old is your grandma now exactly? is she still alive? Nowadays in America you have to be over 18 to get married. 100 years ago, it was okay to get married at 11 but it was also okay to make fun of people in cartoons and stuff. we're a different society now.
@@jocelynecupcake what does my grandma have to do with this? Also what I meant was its the fact that back in the day their mindsets were made to think that child marriages were okay, it was a different society because people thought differently about things, people weren't born thinking that child marriage was okay, it was learned, and it was always okay to make fun of cartoons, I don't understand what you meant to say with that
It's exactly like my mother's story . I am proud of my mom she's my inspiration 🥺🥺

My own grandmother was only 13 when she was wedded to my grandfather. Hours before their wedding, her relatives found her playing in a park with other kids.
Even sadder part is that she was 14-15 when she bore her firstborn child, my uncle. And then she bore 9 more children and only 5 of them survived.
same with my grandmother she born 15 children and only 9 of them survived
Oh my goodness, reading that she was playing the day of her wedding felt like getting shot, she never should have been abused like that

@@JigglyPuff_JesusChristLovesYou I know you don't blame her. I understand what you mean. But the thing is, child marriage was a normalized concept back then in my country. It still is in some places unfortunately...
The worst part is, they always marry them off to old men. I can’t imagine the trauma of being 14 and marrying a man of 45.🥺 I really can’t.
Yes but you can face taruma of underage girl start her onlyfans account
Imagine the other way around because it happens. What would the media think? Probably would not give a damn since shes not a guy. (Does not mean I support).
My math teacher parents were the same (his mom is only 15 when giving birth) and his father was a 30 year old friend of his mom's father, but my teacher say that his mom was the one who want to marry. So his father were the one who raised him and now he felt alienated when together with his mother and tend to avoid her.
what if they made 2 kids mary??
@@UdinJibral clown story🥴 your father was the disgusting one for agreeing to marry a 15 year old and she couldn’t force him to marry so he must’ve wanted it..sounds like victim blaming!
Even if she did wanted to marry bc she had a crush on an older men it was on him to say NO just like it’s on the older person to say NO when a minor wants to have a relationship or even sex bc it’s predatory but naive teens ofc don’t see it that way🙄 do you say „oh yeah it wasn’t rape, he was 12 and wanted it..“ ??
If she gave birth at 15 she was probably just 13-14 when they met, DISGUSTING
Stop excusing the father for marrying someone half his age!👌
It’s not culture. It’s child abuse. 14 is way too young to have a baby. So is 16. The narrator’s mother is so strong.
And I refuse to believe that any teenager can learn completely what sec, being a mother, housework are, so early. It does not happen today even in country where sexual education is given, why should girls have been already capable at 12 years old once?
It's heartbreaking to know that this still happens in a lot of places today. When I was younger (8-10) my grandmother would always tell me how kids my age in rural China would get married and have kids. How they were working and running errands while I was not. I never took her seriously and now I'm grateful for being this privileged.
Lol you can't have kids at that age, it's biologicaly impossible, your grandma be exaggerating like hell, just the way they exaggerate when they say they walked barefoot through snow to school and back home when they were young.
@@phoenixangel5073 you actually can; it all depends on when you start ovulating
@@vmprie you need a lot more than ovula ting to be pregnant and deliver
@@phoenixangel5073 of course it'll be hard to DELIVER at a younger age but it's entirely possible if you have started ovulating. there have been so many cases of kids getting pregnant (not teen pregnancy, mind you) and I have absolutely no idea what you're trying to get at
Same my Sri Lankan grandma used to talk to me like this too, she got married at 16
The fact that these type of things happen all around the world but those who go through the situation can't even do anything about it sometime. It's scary how hard and unimaginably tough their life is.
This is heartbreaking, who even does this to their own kid.
I'm truly sorry for any young girl who is forced to marry, its horrific. My daughter turns 14 in a couple of months and I would never let this happen, its my duty and privilege to protect and guide her into choosing the best possible future she can have
This is one of the reasons I sometimes hate to be a girl.. Men treat us like their servants....
Be strong and fight against them who are against you.
Me who is gay 😂 my friends bully me lot I can't even cry when I cry other bully me more
@todoroki kunUWU Well..I am none to get the respect but I am that person who gives respect to those whom without this world is just a blue ball.
My mother taught her about the abnormalities of our society and took a promise from her that she will break the taboo and educate her daughter.
now am happy that I live in a very good family I am 10 and I got my periods 6 months ago......Yes I got early periods

No matter the age it's still wrong to be forced over your own consent, especially when you're in no ready condition for it.

my grandma got married when she was 14 and had a baby at the age of 16, she had a very hard life in afghanistan and went through a lot of terrible things. She had six children, one of whom died in infancy, my uncle have developmental delays, and my aunt was kidnapped by her future husband. When I remember all the hard things that happened to my relatives, I want to cry, but now my uncle and my grandmother have a good life.

I can’t understand how anyone could do that to a child...
If you live in third world countries you can understand why .
Okay, it may be a cultural thing, people can colour it anything they want, it doesn't hide the fact that it's paedophilia and child abuse. There's no excuse.
They use culture as an excuse to do disgusting stuffs
Yea the person marrying the other person should be 100% willing not forced/coerced into it and/or being confused
the thing that rly hits is that the fact that her mother got gholo taken away is like getting her childhood taken away, and then giving her child a brand new teddy bear hit so hard
Culture does not mean accepting the unacceptable.
