I’ve done a few suspension parts in my life , when I was younger, ok we didn’t have the power tools you have now , but Jesus Kevin you are a strong man
At 47:02 when you unscrew lower swing arm bolt, you can see whole wheel column go down - this is because it's under tension from bushing rubber. When you tighten the new one, you do it in lower position, when you lower the car, rubber bushing will be under tension in resting position. You should tighten both of these bolts when the car is on wheels or tighten it in horizontal position (with the car) and then force it down.
Love your videos as always. However, when you replace suspension components, you suppose to torque down the bolts when the car is either on ground or preloaded by using a floor jack to so at ride height the bushing is not twisted, this procedure isvto prevent the bushing torn prematurally. Also, when you change oil filter, you should add some oil in the oil filter housing, do not put oil filter in dry.
Yes when the vehicles weigh is placed on the bushings because they have been torqued unloaded they will have a twisting force on them which can lead to premature failure! All service manuals state to torque everything when the vehicle is on the ground! But no one does it!
I’ve been watching your channel for a long time, from distant Russia. While viewing, three questions arose: 1) when replacing all the arms in the suspension, why didn’t they replace the ball joint? 2) when tightening the bolts, the car must be on its wheels so that the silent block works in the desired plane. 3) when replacing the fuel filter, it is necessary to bleed the fuel line through the VSDC program (in Russia we have an analogue “Vasya Diagnostic”. In general, I watch your videos with pleasure, a lot of educational information.
Russia 🇷🇺 🍻🍻🍻 Car is going for wheel alignment. So it doesn’t really matter much Bleeding fuel filter 2 x 30 secs cycle of ignition before starting. Ball joint will get replaced when I remove complete leg to work on top suspension arms and top suspension mount. Also all rear suspension arms .. that will be in next video. Also all rear subframe bushes incl all gearbox and engine mount bushing in further videos ..
Fantastic work as always sir. That stuff you sprayed in the air filter housing was that just brake cleaner ? Anyway great to watch your videos as always. I'll watch the clutch one that went up yesterday after this one, have a good one.
Your videos are brilliant mate, i have recently inherited a macanS diesel and your videos have saved me afortune as a mechanic ❤️💪❤️ when doing your oil change did you drain a full 8 liters? As some places say 8liters full fill/6.5 for service? Maybe its if they suck the oil out instead of sump plug only difference i can think of? Thanks
I have watched a lot of your videos and I am delighted wirh your work. Did anyone ever offer you a coffee, lunchor something? I live in Serbia, here it is something we do, mandatory.
Hello Mr Williams, Sir, I have a 2006, Ford Fusion 1.6 Duratec Petrol. I got a new original valeo self starter motor installed in it but i feel the clutch has also become hard after the self replacement. It takes more force now to press the clutch pedal. I got the complete clutch, pressure plate and release bearing changed a few months back. My car has done about 80000 kms till date. Do you think sir, that changing a self starter motor could have caused the clutch to become harder? Kindly help. Thank you.
@@WMCS Thank you for your reply. The clutch was working absolutely fine but the clutch pedal got hard after the self starter motor was changed. Gear shift is still fine but the clutch pedal has got hard. I have knee pain therefore i require a soft clutch pedal.
@@WMCS It was fitted the correct way and was working absolutely fine till self was changed. Kindly let me know if changing/installing the self motor affects the clutch settings. Thank you
@@WMCS exactly, i tried it a couple of times, apparently its meant to remove brake carrier bolts, but it struggles to get them out even after they’re cracked loose, its been sitting in my locker ever since.
The Bolts for the Controlarms has to be fastened when ther Car is on the ground on its wheels. This is important! You give too much force on the Bushings when they are are in the wrong position.

Thanks for that. I did go back and slacken and retighten the lower arms once it was on the floor. But thanks for the insight so others know 🍻🍻🍻
Nice to see you have time to service your own car 👍🏴
Thanks for that treat. I really enjoyed. I have said it before but will say again, "lots of patience to do your line of work!"
Just checked in haven’t watched one of your videos for a year you have come far nice equipment
Never saw that kind of air filter. Must be expensive. Great work as always.
Thanks for the video and I'm happy to see you extend your scope of work in addition to clutches change. Best regards 👍
That’s it. Finger in a few pies. 🥧
A change is as good as a rest...so my auntie tells me😊

Thanks to Kevin for his videos, I did the clutch on my car and now it's going very well, without his videos I would never have succeeded.
Fantastic…🍻🍻
@@WMCS You were an excellent teacher 👏👍
bro. i love ur channel, but can you please use ball join puller or air hammer to release ball joint..? im sad for knuckle arm to be beaten by hammer😅😅
Are those control arms supposed to be torqued on the ground with vehicle weight on them? Thanks for the video.
I’ve heard of that procedure … I might give it a go.
@@WMCS I think it would be prudent. Thanks again 👍🏻

good work but you gotta put weight on the control arms before fully torquing them down.

With the dry sump .. it took 7.8 litres with oil filter .
@@WMCS sorted💪👍 thanks for getting back to me mate

Салентблоки нужно затягивать на нагруженой машине, а как ты сделал так их быстро порвет.
If you say so
100% они порвутся через 2000 км, это отвратительная работа, я не ожидал от него такого
И хамером бить по алюминию НЕЛЬЗЯ 😢
I enjoyed this instead of your usual fare, was that a fuel filter around 30 minutes. It might be time to retire those britches they got a bit airish.
They’re getting patched up as we speak 😂🍻🍻

done just as the sun went down ... looks like it was a long job .. 😊👍

Just general preventative maintenance
Hm, nice job as always. Wasn't the coolant level not too low?
It was indeed from last video In the Porsche playlist …
What do you think about the Milwaukee angled impact wrench, i've got one aswell and i dont rate it at all, is yours 1/2 or 3/8?
I was quite disappointed in the power output. But then I learned how to use it.
