He should have won a lot more awards for The Tudors. His acting in Season 4 as Old King Henry was some of the finest craftsmanship I have ever seen put to screen. My god, the way he changed his voice and walk and demeanor to show how Henry had aged was nothing short of astounding. Groundbreaking method acting.
I agree. And it seems so strange to me that some people support that his acting as an old Henry was not good..I mean which part exactly wasn't good? 😂😂

He is SO GOOD. Showing Henry's immatureness, childishness, insecurity, ambition and the nuances. How he orders executions and feels guilty and insecure about it. How flawed he is. He did an amazing job.

Very few actors grip my attention, he was so so good in The Tudors, I watched the whole series in three days. Somehow he managed to make me love his character despite it being unfair and impulsive, that is the work of a genius in my opinion

This guy was amazing in Tudors. The final scene in Tudors, with old Henry in fron of his portraited, is the most touching scene in the history of cinematography.

I'm so appreciative of him, as a human being, being so transparent with his feelings and struggles. He was so lovely about his rudeness on the plane - he took immediate responsibility, apologized, thanked the officers investigating and instantly realized he needed to get back on track. He just crashed again, but I hope he is able to get back on quickly because the struggle for many is so real. Alcoholism is a disease, and needs respect - respect not just for the alcoholic but for the struggle of their friends and family with said disease. God bless him....and all of you right now. May you and yours be extremely protected, healed and strengthened during this difficult time. Amen.

Love this dude, a class act. He’s played 2 iconic figures in history and hopefully he gets more opportunities to become more well known by the public, so many people deserve it, including him

I’ve recently re watched the tudors and I it’s almost shocking how many people where in that as their break even the beautiful actress who plays Jane Seymour who then was grace in peaky blinders and of course Natalie that was the first time I’d seen her and I was blown away at how amazing she was . Jonathan I’d seen in bend it like beckham and had a crush on him ever since

He lost his irish accent. I just watch bend it like backham what a difference!
He's got such a mix. He's got a fairly well spoken South English accent, but certain words are definitely Irish pronunciation and when he said United States, it sounded so American! He's got a right mix
