This is hands down the best explanation for my issue with my 09 charger....thanks now I know what to say oppose to allowing a dealer to charge me a ridiculous price
I had same problem with my 3.5 L 07 charger. Replaced both rocker arm assemblers and ticking noise disappeared. Good explanation. Keep doing videos man!
@arrowguy173trans ams are solid cars, the plastic is only the interior as ANY cars, just plain simple and not pretentious. Lots of rattles but they can be addressed. The 5.7 V8 is a solid engine known to last 250k+ miles with regular maintenance, but the 700r4 trans is not up to it. I have a 1985 corvette and with 132k miles it still drives like it's on rails and has plenty of torque. Also in much better shape than most European cars with half the age and 100k KM (not miles). American cars have cheap interior and some models have bad engine or trans flaws, but I can guarantee in Europe you do not see cars lasting half as much as Crown Victoria's, chevrolet tahoes, Ford explorer, etc. Now if you bring in Japanese cars, well then that's another story...but design-wise they are not appealing in most cases for what's worth.
So the entire time it was the rocker arms under the valve covers that was making that loud knocking noise plus taking up a lot of power? And I thank god that I didn't buy a new motor yet, because I even took it to a shop and other people were saying that my motor was blew. So now I ordered the rocker arms=260$ plus valve cover gaskets=16-20$ from eBay, because dealerships are very expensive with car parts and putting them on! And when they arrive in the mail, I am going to be putting them on myself, I'd rather work on my own car than to pay a mechanic or dealership. Come out a whole lot cheaper then you think! Also I appreciate the video this video as well for saving me lots of money.
yes he did.... i saw today on another video....he said to buy the rocker arms, spark plugs and i think it was the gasket covers on ebay...... it took care of his knocking...... now i need to know if it was difficult to do this work because im not feeling mechanics and its best we learn our own vehicles.....
Both 3.5 chargers I had had this problem around 100,000-115,000 miles. In both cases my car started misfiring so hard because my lifters weren’t doing their job that my entire engine would shut off. It would buck hard when in a warm idle, and I mean hard, and then shut off. Other than this problem, the 3.5 has been a very reliable engine
Thank you for this video it's great and was helpful. I thought I had a rod knocking until I watched this video. Hell mine sound identical to yours. After watching this video I went to my car and opened my oil cap and listened as it was running and you can hear it came as day
You have solved my problem. The Chrysler/Dodge dealership kept telling me they werent sure what it was....maybe transmission. My car is still under 100, 000 10 year warranty. It is still making the this ticking/tapping. I think it was probably sold to me with this ticking noise. This happened 1 year ago as the dealership rejected my concern and even thought it might be the transmission. I beleive they didnt want to fix it since it would of cost them money and lost of time. Look like I have fact now. Thanks. There should be a recall on these models and years. By the way mine is a 2009 Dodge Journey SXT 3.5 L 6 cyl
These engines also have a short runner valve problem. These are the valves inside the plastic intake manifold. It is possible to remove manifold and rip out the plastic valves inside. This stopped the ticking from the top of my motor. It’s a 4.0 from a grand caravan.
Then its not these engines. This is the 3.5 he was talking about. Or are you saying that the 4.0 you have is made exactly like the 3.5 and therefore have the same problem
You still hear a tick every once in awhile because the dealership only replaced the rocker shafts. The rocker arms have wear on them too giving excessive play, hence a tick. The dealership only did half the job.
which is why you should never trust the dealerships... Only reason i would take a car to the dealer is for PCM/ECM reprogramming or radio. Nowadays a lot of auto shops do a way better job at troubleshooting and handling electrical components
They are not called rocker shafts. They are called push rods and the reason they dont replace them is because there wear a certain pattern in the lifter.
And they should have replaced the whole rocker assembly at that price. You shouldn't have any noise remaining because the rocker arm assembly is basically the entire powertrain.
Mine had a small tick like this in the past week on an '18 w 3.6L. Turns out its been over 100 degrees for two weeks. Car used more oil than normal in that window (those temps arent normal in New England). Dipstick was nearly on the low dot, its usually fine till the next oil change. All guages and temps read fine. Added 3/4 quart of oil, to full, and the ticking went away. Learned these cars are VERY sensitive to oil levels. Oil is always changed ahead of schedule by dealer and never been dirty, the valves shouldn't be caked or dirty. Thought it may have been a driveshaft center bearing starting to go, as it was hard to tell where the ticking was coming from under car by dash/shift area with the noise. Its gone now, was just oil level with the rockers - not on low yet, but very close and made this sound under acceleration only. If that helps anyone else. Thanks for sharing this vid.
Mine was way worse than yours, it was obnoxiously loud, the one was completely broke and the other was getting to the point, had mine fixed and it I'm glad I did because it is way quieter now and improved my engine performance
Wow! A couple of those sounded terrible! Mine has over 300,000 miles and doesn't have that noise. I did have to replace that intake manifold though. The valve devices that go inside that manifold ended up getting stuck. Make sure you change that transmission fluid. I've been meaning to for two years. Now the torque converter is acting up. And I had to change all the bushings around 286,000. That 2006 Charger SXT has been reliable. Update on the torque converter acting up. It wasn't that. It was the rubber coupling, in place of a universal joint.
5 years later, and I came across this video again. It wasn't my torque converter, but it was the rubber coupler for the driveshaft. Now, the engine rattles at 5K RPMs. So I was trying to find something on that and found this one again. It hasn't been driven a lot. I had a suspension and exhaust issue, so it sat for a while.
Im glad found your channel! I just recently became an owner of a 2010 Dodge Charger 3.5L High Output SXT Sedan And i been dealing with this disturbing engine ticking sound! lol The car seems to run smooth on the road...but as you come to a stop light the idle tends to get a little rough until you press on the gas pedal to accelerate. And, If its going to cost me $1,300 American dollars, i might have to rethink things lol
mine is a 2009 journey, bought it with a life time warrenty, 3 times engine light went on, changes rockets first, then changed rockers and heads, then replaced whole top end of engine, and that was at 40000 miles, it has 85000 miles and still ticks, thank God it has a forever warrenty...
Good video. My friend has a 2010 journey with this v6 and issue. Its at 107kmi and sounding rough, Advised to trade it in while it still has no issues, and the work is still technically maintenance.
My son’s car had a spun connecting rod bearing in #2 cylinder. Check for piston play (There are vids showing how to do this) before spending money on rocker arms. Especially if you have the 3.5l. Especially if it was from 2006. Chrysler had issues more widespread than they admit.
Thanks for the video. I have other engine problems at present but it's good to get a heads up about this for the future. Please, if you do another video speak a little more slowly. It sounds like you are rushing to get it done before the film runs out.
I had a 2009 Dodge Journey R/T AWD 3.5L with only 74500KM that would tick before it started until it was at normal operating temp, eventually it developed an awful issue with smoking heavily on startup, we thought we fixed it by changing a nasty pcv valve, then something else went and it started smoking heavily even when driving down the road. I was told that I would need an engine swap or a full rebuild, so I sold it for scrap instead. Besides the ticking, the engine always ran really well until one day I started it and smoked the whole parking lot out 😂
I just recently came across this issue. But it only happens during the very beginning of my start up or when I’m driving super slow making a turn.. any ideas??
Mine is making noise the dealership suggest to replace camshaft, rocker arms, gasket, lifters. I saw damage to the camshaft being worn down. Another mechanic told me there was issues with the oil pump. Does anyone have damaged camshifts?
Having this issue with my 2008 dodge avenger. Had the front valve cover gasket and oil changed. They put in the oil treatment for the lifters. It sounds louder. Gonna replace other valve cover gasket and hope they can stop the noise while they are in there. He said it's fine to drive but I hate that noise!
I’m not sure if this is what’s wrong with mine.. I hear it right behind the stereo. Its really loud and stays on for 2 minutes then stops for 1 minute and keeps going like that . 😩
getting ready to change my rocker arm assemblys on my dodge journey 2010 model....I understand the factory rockers wear out quick so i ordered the new improved rocker arms...other than taking out the bolts and re torq to factory spec...any other adjustment necessary? JD jds auto repair
My 2016 SXT 3.6 that I bought as a new leftover has developed a slight ticking noise at idle. When I start it up it vibrates slightly side to side until warmed up.
thanks for the info. i just bought a 08 charger and im so glad the last owner fixed the engine so my engine has a slight tick but not really noticeable
Honestly it seems pretty reliable (the later model years at least like 2005-2010) the car in the video (my car) is still going now, 330,000kms engine runs awesome
@@MarspeedCars that’s great to hear. I’m looking at. 2010 Charger SXT AWD with 88k miles. 🥳👍 I will eventually do the valve train assembly, valve cover gaskets, Intake manifold gaskets, water pump and thermostat as well as the PVC piping. Thanks for the video!
I have a 2010 Dodge Journey SXT with the 3.5. I have noticed a quieter tick than yours but honestly, it sounds more like a sticking injector. Mine has about 300000KM on it so I would imagine that they might start to stick. Also has any other owner of the 3.5 hear a very loud whine when started in freezing temperatures? Im not sure if its normal but it is loud.
I still have my old 3.5, around 360,000kms I would say. My sister has taken it over but I do remember it whining when cold, sounded like something with the belts to me but it still keeps on going.
Do you need to replace the lifters as well? Was highly worried that this was a piston problem, glad to see it's not. Also looking to do this myself, as I need to replace my valve cover gasket and spark plugs. All that is a lot of money for an 07 300 haha. Thanks for the help man.
Jordan Chamberlain the rocker arm shaft lifter assembly (full term for them) is all you need to replace for both sides I believe. Wish I could do something like this myself!! Glad to be of help man
I have the same noise in my car today I went to the dealer February 27th cuz I encounter the check engine light also have full warranty the service advisor said he cannot get the new heads for my car they're discontinued. They going to talk to the corporate office by putting a new engine. What do you think I know the 2010 3.5 an 2011 3.6 I'm just wondering if they're interchangeable.
I have a noise problem, and it sounds like its coming from that general area, but its definitely dont sound like that. It sounds like almost air bubbling up or something like a bad bearing on a pulley. But its coming from the top and not the front. Almost like a phone in vibrate on a hard surface. And it does get faster when you idle up. Its just not that loud and not a ticking noise. What else is a common problem with these? I know i have a bad EGR valve that im fixing to replace, but its on the back if the motor.
Tough to say but one thing I would do in that case is put a mechanic's stethoscope on each of the pulleys up front and see if there's a grinding noise in any of them. If so, replace that pulley or the accessory unit it's on. And if not, you've only spent $10 on a stethoscope and 10 minutes poking around.
@@ExaltedDuck Thanks, i have a scope and did that already . This post was several months old,but thanks anyway. It was my sister's car and she ended up getting in a wreck,so theres alot that needs to be fixed now. But when it comes out of the body shop, ill see if it still has that noise.
my 09 avenger rt 3.5l had this same noise. just started today. it sounds like the "after" video. i need to turn my air off to even hear it. so yours started off relatively quiet too? did you need whole new rocker arms or just the end tips? how much was just the parts
Jesse Roberts mine was very different sounding at different times, some days would be super quiet and some would be very loud. I could usually always hear it driving slowly without any music on. It did get louder over time to the point where I fixed it. I bought it with the sound so basically never knew if it started quietly or not
Marspeed mine do the same i have a 2012 camry and i can hear the crikkkk sound when i drive slow and when i go up a hill and i also bought it with that sound
You need the rocker arms & shafts done. I heard no tick after the expensive out of pocket repair. Thankfully this POS ('06 Magnum SXT) finally died. Still looks good except for the drivers seat, a door molding and those cheap window sun nuked door beltlines.
hello i have a 2009 charger but i have strange issue the ticking rocker arms sound it keeps coming and going by it self and really i became crazy because of this strange issue i already change many things and still the same is happening so please advise me what to do or tell me what's going on
Almost every time I start my car, I hear the exact same noise but WAY louder and it sometimes hurts my ears and it happens every 30 mins for about one minute
I must be lucky, since my '10 Charger is still pretty quiet, 108k miles on the clock. Maybe I will have them replaced when I get the timing belt and water pump replaced.
Has anyone had it that it would start “knocking” very suddenly while driving? Ive had a small tick for a while but just now I suddenly heard really loud knocking. Any ideas? Same thing?
I have dodge challenger sxt 2013 3.6vvt the engine has same sound with 600rpm so what's the cause of this problem? Oils? Or engine life? ODO 42124 Mile
hey were you having hesitation small vibration like it's running rough at idle because of the rocker arm ticking problem ? what other symptoms you had because of the noise please?
Yeah there was a bit of that but from what I'm hearing from others and dealerships this ticking noise doesn't really hurt the engine. I had no loss of performance and not much other symptoms, just the noise got really loud and annoying so that was the main reason why I went and got it done. I had also driven the car for a while with the noise and never noticed any other symptoms.
WillySweet WonkaJoe they are different (pretty sure the V6 doesn't have any lifters). But from what I've heard the Hemi has a tick that people say is "normal" unlike the V6 one. What year/engine do you have?
I have a 2002 300m with more or less the same engine - have had it since 2003 bought from dealer as demo - engine is silent and very smooth w 80K on the clock - use Lucas oil treatment . Did something change between 2004 and and the next gen engine ? Thanks
Is yours a special edition? There is a 300M Special offered in 2002, that is a similar engine (still 3.5L V6) but it was built a bit different, that car is the only car with that engine (more horsepower+torque - 255HP, 258ft-lb, also it used 91/premium gas and came with a dual exhaust.) So that engine would be slightly different than the one in this car, but really not a huge change. Otherwise the normal 300Ms have pretty much the same 3.5 engine. Also have used that oil treatment and it seems to quiet it down for sure. My engine just seems to be noisy (still smooth) even after this fix so I guess that's how it is. I have no other issues with it
Marspeed Hi there , No, it is not the special just the base model 300m - I use premium gas even though it is supposed to use regular. We are stuck with ethanol in the gas here in Dallas so I use Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas when I fill up. Does yours have a timing chain or belt ? I had my timing belt and water pump replaced simply because the car is 14 years old. Will probably have the radiator, thermostat, O2 censor and cam censor replaced for the same reason. These engines get a bad rap due to the 2.7 liter fallout but that IMHO is undeserved. I travel and use rental cars so I check out the new offerings - none so far are as comfortable as my 300m and it handles better even now than most of what I have driven.
+Random Person Its not just gaskets it's the entire rocker arm assembly + 4.5 hrs of labour at a dealership in Canada, all those factors unfortunately made it quite expensive. Parts alone are $300-400 USD per rocker arm assy but I needed both sides so double the cost.
Just had my rockers replaced on my 01 300 M with 8400 miles. So I guess all could have it But I still have an rumbeling noise when cold as it gets warmer noise goes away. Driving me nuts trying to locate it .
Hey Guys. It’s that problem can cause some damage to the engine eventually or it’s just a noise ? I have older version of the engine 3.3l in town and country Chrysler. Thanks for respond
2AverageNoobs I agree and you have to check your oil a few times a week .. I found it low at the end of my oil change period.. keeping up on oil will help..
Jesus Christ I just got an oil change 2 days ago and the tick is the worst it’s been yet...... aaaaand just like that it stopped.... literally mid comment it’s gone. Cars as quite as when I bought it 100,000 miles ago..... dang... it’s a freaking miracle.
Why does nobody do videos on this particular engine in detail I know next to nothing about this engine except for the fact that I have one in my challenger and I beat ever living snot out of it and it refuses to die
My 05 chrysler 300 2.7 is doing the same thing your car was doing in the second noise, but the sound shuts down after a minute or two! any recommendations?
Is there anything you can do to temporarily fix the noise until I can get the money saved up to fix it?? Does it hurt the car to drive it as it is right now, and how much does it cost american dollars to get it fixed??
Radford Tataryn thanks for your response! I’m having it checked out today finally! Hopefully it is something else that’s less expensive to repair. Would the car make a similar sound if it’s time for a tune-up/spark plug replacement?
Just came across this video I’m having the same issue with my 2010 Chrysler 300s 3.5 engine, if anyone see this I’d appreciate if you could lead me to where I can buy the passenger side rocker arm assembly, dealership told me the whole one piece kit I found on eBay won’t work for my car & that I need individual pieces but then another said i can use the one I found on eBay and that they’ve use it on 07 to 2010 models please help me out and thanks in advance

Having this issue with my 2008 dodge avenger. Had the front valve cover gasket and oil changed. They put in the oil treatment for the lifters. It sounds louder. Gonna replace other valve cover gasket and hope they can stop the noise while they are in there. He said it's fine to drive but I hate that noise!
umm its clearly the ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY... all that other work you said you had done is wrong.
When I start it up it vibrates slightly side to side until warmed up.
gary rossington2 mine Does the same u find the prob.?
you ever find out the problem?
thanks for the info. i just bought a 08 charger and im so glad the last owner fixed the engine so my engine has a slight tick but not really noticeable
Great video! Does the 3.5 have any other problems like this or are they generally pretty reliable? Just keep up on oil changes?
Honestly it seems pretty reliable (the later model years at least like 2005-2010) the car in the video (my car) is still going now, 330,000kms engine runs awesome
@@MarspeedCars that’s great to hear. I’m looking at. 2010 Charger SXT AWD with 88k miles. 🥳👍 I will eventually do the valve train assembly, valve cover gaskets, Intake manifold gaskets, water pump and thermostat as well as the PVC piping. Thanks for the video!
@@bobbydabutcha i have one with 170,000 miles hasn’t given me any problems hope you got the car
@Marspeed these dodge cars are pretty reliable not gona lie
I have a 2010 Dodge Journey SXT with the 3.5. I have noticed a quieter tick than yours but honestly, it sounds more like a sticking injector. Mine has about 300000KM on it so I would imagine that they might start to stick. Also has any other owner of the 3.5 hear a very loud whine when started in freezing temperatures? Im not sure if its normal but it is loud.
I still have my old 3.5, around 360,000kms I would say. My sister has taken it over but I do remember it whining when cold, sounded like something with the belts to me but it still keeps on going.
Are the 3.5L rocker assembly the same for the 2.7L?
So if I don’t fix this right away will it cause other issues or will the noise just get louder
When you rev it did it get louder? My car is starting to make a noise kind of like this and when I rev it gets louder
Glad to be of help man
That rocker assembly just comes as one part as well
Marspeed Thanks for the reply man really appreciate it.
I need to go through my notifications a little more often haha
Jordan Chamberlain all good, I don’t go through mine that often either haha
52k still ticking! And runs great
I have the same noise in my car today I went to the dealer February 27th cuz I encounter the check engine light also have full warranty the service advisor said he cannot get the new heads for my car they're discontinued. They going to talk to the corporate office by putting a new engine. What do you think I know the 2010 3.5 an 2011 3.6 I'm just wondering if they're interchangeable.
What about some marvel mystery oil every other oil change?
Will powertrain warranty cover this issue ?
The labor on that looks pretty easy....
my 09 avenger rt 3.5l had this same noise. just started today. it sounds like the "after" video. i need to turn my air off to even hear it. so yours started off relatively quiet too? did you need whole new rocker arms or just the end tips? how much was just the parts
Are you talking about a creak from the engine or from the suspension?
Jesse Roberts me too
You need the rocker arms & shafts done. I heard no tick after the expensive out of pocket repair. Thankfully this POS ('06 Magnum SXT) finally died. Still looks good except for the drivers seat, a door molding and those cheap window sun nuked door beltlines.
What’s the difference in a lifter ticking?
Added Lucas. Problem solved. Relief valve oil filter. 😆
hello i have a 2009 charger
but i have strange issue the ticking rocker arms sound it keeps coming and going by it self
and really i became crazy because of this strange issue i already change many things and still the same is happening
so please advise me what to do or tell me what's going on
Almost every time I start my car, I hear the exact same noise but WAY louder and it sometimes hurts my ears and it happens every 30 mins for about one minute
Did you ever find out what made that noise?
My 07 charger has the same problem but I've noticed once I start it up the noise gets louder as the motor heats up
Samee ive just parked mine for the last 8 months
How many rocker arms do I buy?
I must be lucky, since my '10 Charger is still pretty quiet, 108k miles on the clock. Maybe I will have them replaced when I get the timing belt and water pump replaced.
We have a Grand Caravan with 4.0 that makes a ticking noise. It sometimes goes away . Is this problem similar ? Thanks
Wasp Pride no
Has anyone had it that it would start “knocking” very suddenly while driving? Ive had a small tick for a while but just now I suddenly heard really loud knocking. Any ideas? Same thing?
having same issue, what was your fix for this
Have this problem on my 08 Dodge Avenger 2.4L though
does this apply to the 3.5 found on the 300m ? 1999-2004
Nicholas Coucoularis I think it should, the design of those engines is very similar just maybe slightly different
Marspeed i own a 03 300m special. was my grandpa's so i know it well. ive really haven't had issues but the waterpump failed
Hey, is the rocker arm and lifter the same thing?
No lol
Nitro never came with the 3.5, I believe
Those things are so easy to replace🙂
I have dodge challenger sxt 2013 3.6vvt the engine has same sound with 600rpm so what's the cause of this problem? Oils? Or engine life? ODO 42124 Mile
did you even watch the video?
hey were you having hesitation small vibration like it's running rough at idle because of the rocker arm ticking problem ? what other symptoms you had because of the noise please?
Yeah there was a bit of that but from what I'm hearing from others and dealerships this ticking noise doesn't really hurt the engine. I had no loss of performance and not much other symptoms, just the noise got really loud and annoying so that was the main reason why I went and got it done. I had also driven the car for a while with the noise and never noticed any other symptoms.
Marspeed So is rocker arms the samething as lifters becuz my Hemi is ticking while idle but once i get up to speed i dont hear it
WillySweet WonkaJoe they are different (pretty sure the V6 doesn't have any lifters).
I have no other issues with it
Marspeed
Hi there , No, it is not the special just the base model 300m - I use premium gas even though it is supposed to use regular.
+Random Person Yeah labour always seems to be more than parts Lol, wish I could do more repairs on my own
Just had my rockers replaced on my 01 300 M with 8400 miles. So I guess all could have it But I still have an rumbeling noise when cold as it gets warmer noise goes away. Driving me nuts trying to locate it .
What noise does the 2012 journey make when the bearings in the engine are bad?
Crash! Boom! Kerchunk!!
I already changed the rocker arms noice came back after 6 months 🙄
Hey Guys. It’s that problem can cause some damage to the engine eventually or it’s just a noise ? I have older version of the engine 3.3l in town and country Chrysler. Thanks for respond
Luke EM I’m wondering the same thing. Did you ever find out?
One more thing for diy it was easy and took about 4 hours just not even going full tilt
That ticking is normal in the V6's AND V8's, but you can't really hear it in the V8 as much.
2AverageNoobs I agree and you have to check your oil a few times a week .. I found it low at the end of my oil change period.. keeping up on oil will help..
@@johnringoo756 I just bought an o6 charger and it has the knocking noise. No check engine light but what should I do to get rid of it completely?
Jesus Christ I just got an oil change 2 days ago and the tick is the worst it’s been yet...... aaaaand just like that it stopped.... literally mid comment it’s gone. Cars as quite as when I bought it 100,000 miles ago..... dang... it’s a freaking miracle.
I change to a full synthetic oil and my knocking goes away but sometimes reappears
Every time I pull up next to a Dodge caravan I hear that sound
Can synthetic oil prevent it from happening again?
I’m not sure about prevention but the synthetic oil definitely can’t hurt! I’ve been running synthetic and my 3.5 is now at 211k miles
Why does nobody do videos on this particular engine in detail I know next to nothing about this engine except for the fact that I have one in my challenger and I beat ever living snot out of it and it refuses to die
Hi, would this be the same fix for a 2004 Grand Caravan? My van has been making the same noise and It gets louder when I accelerate.
Did it work
Does this happen on the v6 3.6L penstar?
Worse
My question is, my car does not do it all the time . My wife drove to Vegas and back ( 120 miles) and no noise ? Thanks :-)
I wouldn't worry about it until it gets constant and loud to be honest
Thanks, BUT.... replacing the parts justs kicks the problem down the road. It does nothing to prevent a repeat of the same problem.
My 05 chrysler 300 2.7 is doing the same thing your car was doing in the second noise, but the sound shuts down after a minute or two! any recommendations?
Raja Ali when you turn it on?? Or just randomly
Raja Ali I have the same problem
Marspeed I have the same problem as him but I can only hear it when I take my foot of the gas and cost. When it idle it’s fine not a sound
dell10032 you should be fine for quite a few more miles then bro just fix it when it’s worse
Is there anything you can do to temporarily fix the noise until I can get the money saved up to fix it?? Does it hurt the car to drive it as it is right now, and how much does it cost american dollars to get it fixed??
Did u get it fix? Mine is really loud lol
Is this a safety issue?
Radford Tataryn thanks for your response! I’m having it checked out today finally! Hopefully it is something else that’s less expensive to repair. Would the car make a similar sound if it’s time for a tune-up/spark plug replacement?
2017 dodge journey
So is this the main problem with these engines?
Yes other than the water pump is a pain in the ass they are beautiful engines
Is this a common problem with the 2.7L V6’s too??
No because the rocker arm assembly is different than the 3.5/4.0 engines.
Sebring also has one of those
Just came across this video I’m having the same issue with my 2010 Chrysler 300s 3.5 engine, if anyone see this I’d appreciate if you could lead me to where I can buy the passenger side rocker arm assembly, dealership told me the whole one piece kit I found on eBay won’t work for my car & that I need individual pieces but then another said i can use the one I found on eBay and that they’ve use it on 07 to 2010 models please help me out and thanks in advance
