I’m planning on getting into 40K and I’ve made up my mind on playing Dark Angels as my premier army. And I’ve heard about how 10th edition’s mechanics and rules have disappointed longtime gamers. But this change to the meta has reinvigorated my interest in the game. So I look forward to building my army, painting my models, and deploying them. Especially when I acquire the model for Lion El’Jhonson. “Repent For Tomorrow You Die.”
to me another important change for the Lion is that he helps Hellblasters and, even better, Black Knights, to survive hazardous, because its always 3 mortals. We can now abuse plasma better than anyone.
The 3 mortals are for characters and vehicles that fail hazardous, for any thing else the model is destroyed so unfortunately the Lion’s fnp against mortals has no affect on them
I'm so glad the Lion can go through walls now, that was infuriating! I like your list a lot, would like to see your take on Gladius too :) lots of fun to be had with transports now we can use them for bladeguard and ICC, and the repulsor for the aggressor bomb
depend on the situation i think lion would be a pretty good supplement to a firestorm list, since after all the nerf the next best thing is the ability to advance-shoot and impulsor to advance-drop body and still do action(disembark from impulsor count as normal move)
I like your list in general, but i think it could use some tuning. I think it lacks "trash" units to screen and do actions. And while the Knights and the Lion CAN hit some tanks in melee, i still think the list feels short on ranged antitank options. But that's just me 🤷♂️
Indeed, first pass at it. I can see some Lancers added and more action pieces. Without playing the new missions properly it wasn’t exactly a perfect attempt! Excited to see where they go next in my list drafts 😍 -Scrivo
Well, from a lore perspective, Lion walking through walls isn't really that far of a stretch. By the end of his last novel, he had been practicing his Forestwalk ability and managed to manifest it at will and while choosing the target location he wanted to arrive at, (in that case, inside the enemy fortress). So yeah, it's not a big deal at this point to see him navigating little mini-ports around a battlefield 😉
The thing about the lions ability is, mortal wounds are practically non existent in this edition.. most games I've played it's not even relevant.. they should have kept him the way he was.. honestly I feel like really special characters like primarchs should have quirky and more unique abilities to them. They just don't feel very special to me

Excellent! Join our discord and chat about some lists. We have a good few of us focused on Dark Angels to bounce ideas off! -Scrivo

Good point! The shrug means a bike should survive, maybe a little less likely on a 2 wound hellblaster but even so, it can spike! 🥰
That's a dope point, I hadn't thought about that. Our plasma boys will definitely appreciate this

@@laughbox1860did u not read the new rules bruh
@laughbox1860 not anymore, it changed with the database, hazardous is just 3 mortal wounds to a single model per fail now

Or a repulsor with icc and bladeguard 🥰

good shout! I've not explored Firestorm enough but I do use a lot of transports so it feels like a good fit! -Scrivo

Exactly! I’m excited for the next novel with him in as Lazarus teases 🥲 -Scrivo
Interesting list. I'd argue the ICC need the impulsor over the Bladeguard.
Yeah, defensively I agree! My theory is to get them right in there. Other approach is two impulsors 🤓 -Scrivo
I would pick Asmodai with ICC. If they are attacking a high T target, reroll hits to fish for those 6s. It is actually quite broken now
In no world is that broken. It’s just good.

devastating wounds are now mortal wounds again .... and failed hazardous tests are three mortal wounds instead of one dead model
so its pretty useful
Mortal wounds are more relevant now.
Where do i find the changes to Dev/Mortal Wounds?
Found it
