So it has to do with the wording of the rule, since it says "deathwing infantry" not "deathwing models" this means anything that leads a unit with the keyword, gives it to the rest of the unit since they all share the same keywords!
@@spoonsrattling Its important to note that there are 3 ways that a unit/model gains Deathwing. 1. Most of the Epic Heroes automatically have Deathwing. This typically represents their High ranking within the Chapter. Sammuel does not have the Deathwing Keyword and neither does The Lion. 2. There is a list of specific vanilla Space Marine Data sheets that automatically gain Deathwing no matter which detachment they are taken in.. The DA supplement contains a list of units that includes the following data sheets from the Space Marine Codex. Unlike the Ravenwing keyword, these units do not need to have any other requirements. Also take note that there are a lot of missing Character Data Sheets, but for now THE FOLLOWING units automatically gain DW if their chapter is Dark Angels;: Terminator Units (This is enough to cover Characters wearing Terminator armor), The Blade Guard Ancient, Blade Guard Vets, Sternguard Units, Inner Circle Companions, and Vanguard Vets with Jump Packs. (*Notice the BGVA is the only character specifically called out, while Captains and Lieutenants have a special rule that requires, they must take a specific loadout if you want to attach them to Blade Guard Vet units are absent from the DW list, more on this below) *For some reason Captains and Lieutenants equipped with shields which also limits them from taking most weapon options which is required rule if you wish to lead/attach them to any units of Blade Guard Veteran units which DO have the DW keyword. Both mentioned characters will eventually gain the DW keyword if you attach them to a unit of BGV when placing your units on the board and declaring which characters are going to be attached to certain units this game since you are not committed or locking your characters to the same unit every game. This creates an odd timing rule which prevents any leaders that join units with the DW keyword, bit do not contain it prior to the game which means they are not eligible to use any Inner Circle Enhancements. Typically this is fine, however with how badly the Codex was written, Captains and Lieutenants who have models that are designed to aesthetically look like Blade Guard, such as the the Ancient and also have to choose the same equipment as BGV units should have been on the List of units that gain the DW keyword... Just another frustrating restriction and its impossible to know if this was an oversight. The same applies to Data sheets that contain Vehicles with Fly which is a requirement to gain Ravenwing, do not gain the barely noticeable 5++ Save that exists on every Ravenwing Data sheet printed in the DA Supplement ranging from Black Knights to Aircraft. This means that Storm Speeders and mounted units taken from the SM Codex do not currently have the 5++ Save which they did in 9th edition. again, not sure why they cant access the same 5++. Or was this an oversight? With all the data sheets that were taken away and some of the ones that stayed had thier rules significant changed, for example Deathwing Terminator using Assault Weapons and the lose of the Strike Master and Terminator Command Squad. Its these small additional abilities which almost appear to be oversights and would help DA players stick to thier divergent Detachments further frustrates the DA player base. Also, did Ezekial not eat his Wheaties or something. He hasn't grown any taller like the rest of his brothers...and he actually hass a strong data sheet...
This detachment got better but it’s far from broken. It has some big issues with mobility and the game plan is completely telegraphed. Additionally the lion still doesn’t have the dw keyword.
I did find it weird the lion doesn't have the deathwing keyword, a little strange. The ravenwing black knights should have it aswell but they're my mobility thing I use, if I'm feeling like I can't reach the board edges some vanguard veterans with 3" drop is nice, or inceptors if I'm feeling spendy.
@@spoonsrattling It makes sense that they don't, since they're their own wing of the former Hexagrammaton, but the Lion should have both keywords, like in HH. I wish Ravenwing was better tho, they were my initial draw to Dark Angels.
Another oversight. Maybe they don’t want to make him to game breaking but as a primarch he should be able to have access to DW and RW, especially with his abilities.
I would like to mention the existence of inner circle companions because they're cool models, they have the deathwing keyword and their recent buffs made their damage very good for the cost. They are glass cannons though, a repulsor would be good to transport them since it's also deathwing and it also brings fire support.
A neat trick with the T1 deep strike, you can use the deep strike within 3" stratagem on it as well, extremely hard to screen against. Just can't charge out of it. I use it on a regular deathwing termies squad with a librarian, lots of firepower with sustain 1 dropping down is great.
@@evgenijvalamin6473 I'm talking about the relic teleportarium stratagem combined with the deathwing assault enhancement which allows the T1 deep strike.
most people don't want to spend 60+ dollars on something that is underwhelming when they play with it. I don't blame people who try to stick to both good and cool.
As a newbie to 40k I wasn't aware that Azrael leading a squad makes it Deathwing! That alone makes this video worth it!

Yup after watching this video I did some research! Next game I get to play is going to be Inner Circle Task Force. Thanks for the heads up!

I did a video on them not too long ago, I really like them

there's ways to do it but you rarely see them played. Not alot of people running infiltrator marines.
You can't rapid ingress on T1 with this relic

I love the Risk of Rain 2 songs in the background hahaha
Was unmatched fortitude changed? I thought that it only worked if the weapon had higher strength then your toughness
❤
Bad on launch, now is good. I think just stick to the things you think are cool regardless
