Verticutting a Bermudagrass Lawn

Today I'm verticutting my bermudagrass lawn. The distinction between verticutting and dethatching usually lies within the equipment or more specifically, the reel, being used to do the work. Dethatchers usually have flail reels or tines, while verticutters will have fixed blade reels that can slice through the stolons of the bermudagrass. Verticutting can be used to thin out your lawn when it becomes to spongey or matted down.
