Texas Bermuda Lawn In November
It's November, but it's still hot and still dry. For now at least. We do have some relief on the horizon. There is some rain in the forecast and a cold front expected to hit later this week. For now, the bermuda is fairing fairly well with the fall. As the cold temperatures hit, the lawn will eventually fade into dormancy, but until then, we're going to hope this rain gives us a green up.

Operation Halloween

My lawn is in rough shape. It's not horrendous... yet, but it's got a lot of room for improvement. The problem is, we're running out of growing season. Today, I take you step by step through the steps I will take in order to get my lawn looking its best by Halloween. I Haven't Fertilized in Almost 4 Months

We've been having great weather lately! Been blessed with cooler than normal temps and some rain. In all the chaos that is my life, I haven't actually applied a product (aside from PGR) to my lawn in nearly 4 months. Despite that fact, the lawn is still looking really nice. I think this minimalist approach is attractive to a lot of people. Lawn Insider Merch Store: merch.lawninsider.com/ Bermud...
How to Treat Spurge in the Lawn (With RESULTS)
มุมมอง 4.3K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I'm treating spurge in my bermuda lawn. I've recently had a little outbreak of spotted spurge in my side lawn, so I've decided to treat it with some Celsius WG. Celsius is an awesome broadleaf weed killer, and one of my favorite things about it is it doesn't have any temp restrictions. How To Create Stripes In Your Lawn
มุมมอง 1.9K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
In today's video I talk about one of everyone's favorite topics, lawn stripes. Some love them, and some hate them, but everyone in lawn care circles talks about them. Striping your lawn is possible with most grass types, but it is far easier to achieve in cool season lawns. There are a lot of theories on how that striping effect is achieved, but in reality it's just caused by the sun's light re...
The Hurricane Missed Us, But Check This Out!
มุมมอง 3.8K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I show a 4 week update of the lawn post-renovation. The yard has made (almost) a full recovery in the face of this Texas sized heat wave. Luckily, we've been blessed with some rain along the way as well. Bermuda grass's ability to self heal has played a huge role in this recovery! Bermuda is resilient, and if it's warm and sunny outside, it will find a way to grow and prosper. Law...
How To LEVEL Your LAWN Using SAND (Includes 3 Week UPDATE!) | Topdressing for a FLAT Lawn
มุมมอง 53K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video covers how I used mason sand to help level my lawn. The real goal of a sand leveling project is not actually to "level" but to create a flat surface to mow on. Your first step is to mow your lawn down to a low height of cut to make the sand easier to move. I chose to core aerate before applying the sand so I could help with soil compaction and allow the sand to mix better with the ex...
Aerating my Bermudagrass Lawn | Lawn Level Prep Work
มุมมอง 28K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
In today's video I aerate my bermudagrass lawn. Aerating is the final step in prep work for my lawn leveling project. Aerating, specifically core aerating, is typically suggested in order to reduce compaction in a lawn. Compaction can make it difficult for water and nutrients to reach the soil layer, as well as making it harder for grass to tack down. In order to reduce compaction in the long t...
Verticutting a Bermudagrass Lawn
มุมมอง 4.3K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I'm verticutting my bermudagrass lawn. The distinction between verticutting and dethatching usually lies within the equipment or more specifically, the reel, being used to do the work. Dethatchers usually have flail reels or tines, while verticutters will have fixed blade reels that can slice through the stolons of the bermudagrass. Verticutting can be used to thin out your lawn when it b...
Bringing Down Height of Cut in your Bermuda Lawn
มุมมอง 6K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I'm performing a reset scalp on my bermuda lawn. I realize that my grass isn't 3 feet tall, but with bermuda, once you miss a couple mow days, you have to perform a reset scalp to bring your height of cut (HOC) back down. Without scalping, you'll have trouble maintaining a green lawn. Scalping during the growing season is like hitting the reset button on your lawn, and then you can set yo...

Should You Mow Wet Grass?
มุมมอง 20K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Is it okay to mow wet grass? Well it's not ideal, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. We've been getting a lot of rain in Texas lately and it's been hard to find a good time to mow the lawn when it wasn't wet. Wet grass clumps up, sticks to your lawn equipment, stains your shoes, and makes your lawn more susceptible to disease. Depending on your circumstances though, you might have to...

I am having trouble picking the day I want to water. I pick the date and it just goes to the next day. Should I clear it? Start over. Right now I have to do it Manually. It isn’t warm enough, but we haven’t had rain since the first of the year here in California.

Don't be fooled on zoysia, it hates shade. I love my zoysia tho. If you have shade you just can't have regular grass. Try dwarf mondo grass. All of the areas i have zoysia under shade - the zoysia is weak looking and far more prone to weeds.

There's a recommendation that I saw online that I've been using. The 12321 method. Early spring- .5" one time a week, weather warms more- 2X a week, very hot- 3X per week. Weather cools- 2X, weather cools more- 1X per week.
