  • We celebrated International Women's Day 2024 with a panel discussion called ‘Women's Football - The Story So Far’
We have brought together an amazing group of women involved in Football in Oxford University, and in the wider Community.
    Facilitator:
Morgan Mitchell: Morgan is a DPhil student, scientist, and Ex-captain of the University of Nottingham Women's Football team. She is part of a public engagement project in Oxford involving researchers and football communities, to understand more about how our brains are involved in football. Read more about the project here.
    Panel Members:
Madeleine Kowalenko: Maddy is the President of Oxford University Association Football Club (Men and Women). She was the Women’s Blues Captain 2 years ago and played at a semi-pro level in Australia before university. She is currently reading Modern Languages at St. Catz.
    Alexa and Ajaye Hunn-Phillips:
Alexa grew up in London playing football in the streets, dodging cars while trying to beat her current kick-up record. She went on to play football for England at various levels, which she describes as an amazing and inspiring experience.
Ajaye has a wealth of knowledge in the fitness industry. This has allowed her to work for the majority of the leading fitness providers, spanning a multitude of roles. She is a fully qualified personal trainer, CrossFit coach, Olympic weight-lifting coach and sports therapist.
Together they run a hugely successful gym in Oxford called The Project PT with a passion for reaching young people who are overlooked and under-provided for in terms of sport.
