ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.
The Oxford Union is deeply grateful and encouraged by the messages of support in response to our determination to uphold free speech. During our 200 year history, many have tried to shut us down. As the effects of self-imposed censorship on university campuses, social media and the arts show no signs of dissipating, the importance of upholding free speech remains as critical today as it did when we were founded in 1823. Your support is critical in enabling The Oxford Union to continue its mission without interruption and without interference. You can support the Oxford Union here: oxford-union.org/supportus

I watched women's football for some years and discovered TH-cam a couple of years back during lockdown. I started commenting on women's football channels after I read some horrible ignorant stuff being written. Rather than argue, I tried to say something positive to make it normal for a bloke to be able to treat it with respect. If I cannot add to a conversation, I try to make a joke, as a play on words, but nothing to make anyone look bad.
I recently commented on most of what was said here, across several channels. I encourage others to join me to drown out the nonsense.
Channels like Girls on the Ball are a good watch, but could do with a greater audience.
    I also watch US channels.
I even watch German and French channels from languages learned in school and do my best to understand Spanish language stuff, having watched Barcelona women since the English players arrived.

Women's football is full with political agenda... that's one of the problems for starters.

It's not a tick box anymore Leah.
Haven't watched Football since Gerrard was at his best. Fell in love with it again because of the Lionesses. Only watch Women's Football now.
An England Male on a crisp packet doesn't get bought. Put a Lioness on it and I'm in.
There are a lot like me.

Haha, yeah same with the Arsenal womens calender, it sold out instantly and lve never been able to find it anywhere this year. However l can still by the mens team. Nothing to do with production, they made the same quota for both 🤷

Love her and the Lionesses but our media in this country have not helped us accept that ...as far as winning tournaments is concerned ...the politics around a team can be all wrong ( Spain at the World Cup In Australia ) and the English media gleefully suck up those stories ...some rightly ...but they still outclass the England women by miles ...remember shocked reactions...lets accept the importance of ever developing inclusion and all those soft - ish focuses ...but we need to WIN on the pitch !!!!!!!

Football is a sport for everyone and we need clubs and countries to ensure that abled bodied and disabled players no matter the discipline get equipment that’s suited to each group, equal pay, funding, working conditions, rights, visibility, promotion and infrastructure . It should be enshrined in law.

I''ve watched Womens football& good luck to them, but constantly attempting to give it a level footing is nonsense!.
.Now if it can prove it can stand on it's own two feet through the quality of the product,(skills, athleticism,Professionalism and quality of football& the fans turn up) then full power to them👍)
But at the moment it's taking a ride on the Mens game! And from my POV it doesn't impress!
( now i can watch many different Womens Sports,Boxing,MMA,Tennis,Track& field,Swimming,Gymnastics& u can't fail to be impressed)But not football! But that won't stop the media with it's push on this and Trans Rights!
