To prevent damage to your hair, you should use volume 10 on your (magenta dyed) hair part. (volume 10 is to deposit hair color on lighter lifted parts of hair-this doesn't open your hair shaft as much). Don't do roots till 20 minutes after you have dyed the bottom part of hair. After those 20 minutes, touch up roots with 30 volume developer for 10 minutes. Finally, with a light color safe paraban n sulfate free shampoo, use the, "After Color conditioner" by Ion. (This will close the hair shaft to help keep the color to last longer.

Not really, just use adore in the color magenta and it gives you the same color. Is semi permanent and is vegan and cruelty free and cost like 5 dollars. So you just retouch your roots like usual but when it comes to color the rest of your hair you use the semi permanent hair color.
That's what I do and my hair is healthier and it match my roots.

They say you're not supposed to do your ends every time or full the full time because your ends will keep getting darker over time. And all your new hair/roots thats growing in will be bright and vibrant and you could have what we call hot roots and the ends are dark. So do your roots first and apply to the ends like the last 10 mins of your processing time to refresh those ends.
I get hot roots when I do them first and it looks horrible. I always do my middle part and ends first, let them sit 20 mins and then do my roots and let them sit like 15 mins so they look tiny bit darker than the rest which is how our natural hair looks and also it looks better once my natural hair starts showing. I guess we all find what works for us and stick to it even if it's different. ☺️
It works better to dye the bottoms first, with red hair.

I did my hair exactly how you did yours, 4 times to even get mine to be noticeable cause i had black hair dye before. I was gonna retouch before the holidays and do exactly what you did but a friend of mine has her license in hair and told me not to keep using the loreal cause it keeps opening your cuticle and damaging your hair 😕 it looks like it worked great for you. your hair is so beautiful and long and healthy looking i love it ❤

You can use hair spray to clean off any hair dye on your skin.
yes i did that lol. i used one of those bleach spray. sounds bad but at least it comes off haha. and then later someone told me to use rubbing alcohol which works for them.

I had my hair dyed red at the salon, and my roots have grown out a little, but the stylist wants to said it would cost me the same as the first time I got my hair dyed when I all my hair was dark brown.

Absolutely gorgeous hair
You should apply to roots first if it’s a touch up and than with what’s left over do a soap cap with in the last 10minutes of processing so you don’t damage your ends. Other wise you will have fried ends

Use a lower volume of developer for the roots or start from mid shaft of your hair then ends and leave your roots for last

hey girl! the shampoo i use is John Frieda " radiant red" shampoo. it works really good and makes your hair look vibrant. i couldn't find their john frieda conditioner so i used another conditioner brand by Loreal Paris color vibrancy conditioner. it makes your hair soft. Thanks girl!

wash it in cool water. use a shampoo that is for color treated hair. i use heat protectant spray. you can use any brand.

no the color shouldn't look different.
Itll be the same but I wouldn't use the loreal again on your already colored hair, only on the roots. Since this dye requires developer itll eventually dry out your hair. Use a demi color dye to give it color back

awww it only last 2 weeks. i would hate to touch ups every two weeks. you can keep the color from staining your skin is rub some vaseline on your skin/scalp before you start dying your hair. it really works! because it has an oily texture and would be hard to get dye stick to your skin. I'm planing to use manic panic on my next touch up. what color do you use?
illestjoanne I absolutely love Fushia Shock! I’ve used it over and over for the last few months and I’m usually one who changes up my hair so often. I’m addicted to this color ❤️ It’s red, pink, sorta purplish. Just depends on what you’re wearing, the sun, your skin tone. I think you could rock it!
I’ll try the Vaseline on my scalp. I already use it on my skin but wasn’t sure about applying it directly to the scalp. I’m afraid it’ll interfere with the coloring process? 🤷🏻♀️ oh, btw- I never use a toner with MP. Just the color and conditioner. Much less damage to the hair. 😘

Yes, you can dye it again when red is totally faded or wait just your natural regrowth. (srry for any mistake, I'm Italian not English😂)
Your hair will grow out but the hair that you color will only go back to black if you dye it black. This lightens your hair while depositing the red, or else the red wouldn’t show up. It will not wash or fade out to your black no

No dont do your roots 1st go from bottom to top...because your roots process faster then your bottom hair so if you do your roots first your roots are going to look really really brighter then the rest of your hair ...your welcome😂🙏🏻

Am I the only one that whenever I dye my hair red with L’Oréal hi color highlights even after I rinse all the color out if I sweat I sweat red Nd it bleeds everywhere ☹️
lol!! i feel you girl. the color bleeds everywhere. like one time i washed my hair and forgot that it was wet, and i was wearing my fav white sweater and it stained it. hahaa
When you go to sallys, buy a packet of gray magic and add it to your dye. It keeps your color from bleeding everywhere. I dye my hair bright red and have been doing it this way for a year. My friend originally learned this from one of the girls at sally and before she used it her red would fade in 3-4 weeks and bleed everywhere. Once she started using it her roots would be an inch and her red was still vibrant. I recommend it to everyone!
