Will this work on dark brown hair that was caused by hair dye? I noticed after dying my hair a lot of dark colors. Certain colors wouldn’t pick up (with a color that I tried after which was a dark purple). I want to try this but I don’t know how it would work because my hair isn’t black and has never been black
I did this step by step process a year ago and it came out gorgeous. Obviously it's going to take a few times to get the perfect shade you're looking for but I'm happy to have found this video. About to go back to the sexy red 😛
Thank you for being so professional, it is refreshing and helps me take you seriously. Obviously your hair looks beautiful because you see the ones where they it does not look healthy and it makes you not want to do what they did. You have a more extensive process with precautions. I have colored my hair for years, but did damage it with that powder bleach and I had to cut a lot of it off because it was breaking off in clumps. I am glad I watched your video because I believe you have shown me a process on how to protect my hair (now that I have spent about 5 years growing it out) and I can try something without worrying. I am 73, still do not know what I am going to get, I hope white but I think I see flecking of maybe a little gray in dark brown hair so this will help me be able to keep a pretty color for as long as I need to. I should be grateful, but brown is boring. Update: The color stripper is bleach. It removed the darker dye, plus my own natural color and turned it a brassy gold. That only happens with bleach (lightener) I did not put it on my roots because there was 6 months of growth there and no darker dye that needed to be removed. Now I had brown roots and the rest brassy. So, oh no, had to do the roots, so lighteded them to match the other brassy color better, but trying to be careful to not relighten area just done, I missed some spots, so now still have blotches of brown. Thought maybe when the pink would be applied they would blend in better. I also purchased color lightener to put in the pink because it was so intense. I wanted a softer pink. Well, 6 oz of lightner to 3 oz of color did not change the pink one bit. Very messy, but when done, it took in different shades all over. The bottom (waist length hair) was a dull pink, near the roots, the very hot pink, then still the brown blotches. I have been doing my hair for years, but out of the safe boxes in the stores. Anything goes now, so who cares, it just would have been nice to have it turn out as nice as the gal doing the video. I have washed my hair 6 times now with strong dandruff shampoo(that is supposed to remove color the best, naturally, without bleach, but does not do what the bleach will do) I still have pink coming out, my bangs look like gold and pale pink mixed...interesting, though a young 14 year old boy gave me a complement on it. I am going back to the safe boxes from the store. May be that will cover everything in a balance look. just be careful. Everyone has different hair and it all takes these solutions and chemicals differently. If you have long hair, stay away from the blue powder. It will eventually take your hair out in clumps. Speaking from the voice of experience.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! You saved me! I wanted to dye my hair back to red after dying it black in April because I missed and loved my red hair but I did it before doing research and watching your video so my hair turned out red on the roots and still black the rest of my hair. Hi you did a very good job it looks amazing! I just want to give everybody a few tips: with normal hair dye you should start with the roots bc "most" of the time you have virgin hair at the roots and they proces slower with hair dye and faster with bleach, and then do the ends bc the ends dont have to proces as long as your roots(with bleach its Middle first then your ends, roots) also a lot of People don't know that you should wash your hair twice when you rinse out the dye. First wash is to clean the dye of your hair and the second wash is to take care of your hair so the shampoo can really do what its for. So you wash your hair with your shampoo twice and then use conditionor or a hairmask ❤ this is not hate or me trying to be anoying i just want to help People with dying hair at home😁 (i am a hairdresser from the Netherlands my English is very bad sorry) good Luck everybody ❤❤❤
just came across this video while trying to figure out how to go back to red without bleach since i bleached and dyed my hair black a year ago from a previous hair dye fail and this was exactly what i needed, just ordered all the products thankyou so much for all the information
Just found your channel, love your videos and this tutorial! I’ve dyed my hair with L’Oréal HiColor magenta on and off for the past 10 years and then started using box black dye but I’m ready to go back. Always had someone to dye it for me but now learning how to do it myself and your tutorial is perfect! Subscribed ❤️
the hairdresser i went to kinda did my hair completely wrong , now i see where she went wrong so thank you for this video!! i told her i had box dye in my hair but she didn’t use a color remover so the red is barely noticeable, she also did my roots first which gave me hot roots unfortunately.
Omgeeeee I’m so glad I found your video, I have stubborn grays so I’ve been using black boxed dye for a long while now. I want a change and wasn’t sure how, thanks to you now I know how!! Simply gorgeous hair!! Thank you!
I just saw this video for some odd reason but wanted to point out a couple of things here.. color zap is a mild bleach and not like color oops. The hair dye used here also has to lift (a mild form of bleach used to lighten) so essentially though she didn't use straight up bleach, she did in her products but because it was mild it's softer on hair, so minimal damage done. Remember color does NOT lift color. And if you're gonna use a color remover, despite the sulfate smell, use color oops, or my favorite which is the Salerm color reverse doesn't smell as bad or the one and only color remover they sell at Sally's
Hi my dear, yes that video is COMING SOON 🥰✨ currently I’m loving the Redken color extend magnetics! I’ve also tried the macadamia one in the past! If you want a budget friendly option check out L’Oréal ever pure as it is sulfate free and will prevent your color from fading!
So if the hair is naturally black & was bleached and dyed red at the salon, I can still use the steps in the video to achieve a darker red? I know in the video she said that hi lift isn’t recommended all the time so what to do to keep the color? like next time just bleach the roots and touch up with a red color for the other parts of the hair? thank you!
I came across your videos a few days ago , now I’m sitting in my bathroom waiting to wash 😂 I followed everything you told me to do and bought everything you got including the hair mask so I’m praying it’ll turn out exactly like yours 🥺💛 Update : turned out nothing like yours 🥺 and my roots are brighter than my whole hair 🥲😂
thank you so much for making this video!! your absolutely gorgeous and i love your hair! do you know if it would be okay if i did all of these steps without the hair color remover? mine is at a natural brown right now.
do you always have to use a color remover if you already have dyed hair cause I already have red hair so can I just go in without the color remover? genuinely curious :)
I just want to say thank u so much for this video i followed this exactly except I use a 20 developer instead of 30 cuz my hair that brassy color already after u did the color zap but I wanted to say thank u so much it came out perfect and it was my first time dying my hair by myself and this bright red I love reds and have been doing them forever but never this bright u r amazing and a life saver I have been trying to get this color for a while now! I'm so happy with it ☺️
Your hair looks amazing!! I have a question so basically I am going from virgin dark brown hair to a medium deep red so should I go straight in with the hair dye you have and 20 developer? And do I need the protein color filler since the dye is going on virgin hair? If you have any advice I would love to hear it thanks. ♥️
Ugh !!! I got hot roots even after waiting 25 min with the color on my ends before applying on my roots ... any suggestions? ♥️ love how yours turned out !
Hi sweetie, it’s probably easiest to try and darken up your roots a bit! Go in with a deeper red and 10 volume developer ( this will only deposit the color and not lift) L’Oréal has many reds to choose from make sure to choose from the black packaging not the hicolor line for your roots
@@romancealonzo thank you so much ! It really doesn’t look that bad now , I did another round 2 days later & it’s blending a bit more now. But my roots are still brighter but does not look as odd as it did first go around .. I will give this a try ♥️
Wow thank you I have been dying my hair box black for years on and off letting it grow out or yes using bleach ( which my hair does not do well with either) but I have that little voice in my head that every once and a while is screaming for some color! I’ve done the red definitely not even close to how good yours looks, I did purple last year and it came out great but after a while I couldn’t keep up with it.. I’m sapphire black right now and want to do some nice blue highlights since the box black has always been a blue black or similar .. I was about to do it with bleach and saw this video and omg it made my day! So just wanted to say thanks and if you see this.. any tips? I’m excited to be a new subscriber! ❤️
Hi love ❤ omg I wanna go red but with a hint of violet ima do 2 boxes of magenta ❤and 1 and a half of violet 💜how much would you recommend of developer
Hi!! this is the perfect video omg thank you so much for explaining everything thoroughly! I just dyed my hair red without any bleach today - when do you recommend me using your method? Should I wait a couple days to do your method or should I wait a little bit longer? My hair is naturally black and I used red dye yesterday but it just left a really unnoticeable dark red shade. Please respond when you can! Thank you!
This video is AMAZING! How did the dye lift the black that the color remover didn’t lift? I was planning to do color remover, bleach, then dye…but I’d much rather skip the bleach!
Love the protein filler. I put it in my shampoo snd conditioner to keep up with color between washes. I didnt wash my hair like that either. Beautiful cant wait ro do thus after baby comes
Hi Romance! Great video! I wanted to ask how long did you wait until you applied the hair dye to your roots? I want to make sure I follow that so I don’t have hot roots. Thank you!
I just finished trying this! I previously had demi-permanent dye and not permanent on my hair, so I figured I could skip the color remover step. That was a mistake. I also forgot to add the protein into the formula. I have level 4 dark brown hair, could have gotten away with 2 tubes of dye. The color is like a dark maroon on me at the moment, and its darker on the under layer, I think because I took too long applying. I will try again soon!
hi! i just wanted to ask, if i previously dyed my hair red, and now i want to dye it red again (different shade from before), would i have to use a colour remover?
Hi love, I’d say as long as your hair has faded out you should be fine to put a different type of red on top, I’ve done this in the past because I love changing up my red
THANK YOU! This video definitely helped me with my first time dying my hair at home and dying RED at that! 😄 I was wondering if you have a video on touching up the red from this video? 🙏
Your hair was darker on the bottom because of the fact that the hair color removal unbalanced your hair color before the applied the red. Your roots are always the darkest if your hair is naturally black. No matter what color you're trying to apply to your head after bleaching or even in your case using hair color removal you should always have a balanced base before applying any other hair color.
Hello, i just did my hair for the 2nd time using the loreal w/ 30 volume developer but some parts are still not as bright as my roots. The 2nd time is reapplied it, i focused more on those areas where its still dark thinking it will work for sure since i applied it first on that area and it’ll have more time to process but after washing & drying it, the same areas are still dark 😩. Do you think 40 volume developer would help fix the problem?? My hair is fully virgin before using the splat double lift iconic red that only lifted my roots.
I’ve never used 40 on my hair but with developer, the higher the number the higher the lift. I’m not a hairdresser so I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction, it might be best to see a professional to get the results you’re looking for!
@@Guilfreefoods lmao felt that, Im gonna dye my hair like this in a couple days and I got two boxes of the color remover but Ive dyed it in the past as in 2 years ago

.. This Information Is Absolutely Incorrect!! She Is Claiming She Is Not Using Bleach.. However In The "HiColor" Red Box She Showed In The Beginning Already Comes Premade With Bleach In The Color Itself!! Which Is How She Able To Go Lighter!! IF One Does Their Research You'll Find Out That Color Does NOT Lift Color!! Especially When You Start At A 1 Going Lighter.. Also.. The Advice Given In The Number On The Developer Mix Was Wrong As Well. The Higher The Number Of Developer.. The Faster It'll Process.. If You Arw Going Light.. And You Are Not Patien To Wait With A Lower Number Developer Aka 20 Or 30.. Then One Does 40 Or Higher Which Is So Much More Harmful For The Hair.. A 20 Volume Developer Is Good If Want To Stay Dark. No Disrespect Meant Just Some Clarification Is All.. 😁 And Your Hair Does Absolute Look Flawless!! 🥰

Hi, I’m planning to do the same as what you did here and I just wanted to ask, did u put shampoo and conditioned your hair after the color remover? and did u dye your hair right after?
Romance, so I've already tinted my hair many times with Hi Color Red Hot, if I want to keep up a bright-dark red color, what hair dye would you recommend?
This video has been so helpful, I’m about to tackle this myself lol, but I had one question, I have dyed my hair in the past about 2-3 years ago was the last time I dyed it with permanent hair dye, by now my hair basically virgins again, has grown out and it’s almost fully my natural hair color besides the very ends of my hair...would I still need the color lifter in all my hair, or should I lift only the ends where the very old permanent hair dye shows?
Hi dear, it really depends on how much of your ends it is, I’d say still apply the color remover avoiding your roots just to be safe but that is just my preference! If the ends aren’t that much maybe try getting a trim to get the permanent dye out and go in directly with hicolor :)

the hairdresser i went to kinda did my hair completely wrong , now i see where she went wrong so thank you for this video!! i told her i had box dye in my hair but she didn’t use a color remover so the red is barely noticeable, she also did my roots first which gave me hot roots unfortunately.
What’s the best conditions masks or conditioner u recommend
I always use the L’Oréal Elvive deep conditioning mask and swear by it! I am currently trying out their Everpure moisture for conditioner as well :)
Kerastase is the best.. it's pricey but definitely worth ittttt.
you should try nexxus keraphix hair masks from the drug store they are amazing and only around $7 a packet!!
I literally dyed my hair black like 5 weeks ago, but it’s already washing off I wanna do red so badly I think ima go for it 😃 thanks for this video 😄
Did you do it already?
@@Maria-zk1px not yet
Did it work ? My hair is box dyed black
Alright that’s it I’m going back to red! The red is so gorgeous!
Your red hair looks gorgeous!
I love how you actually showed removing the hair color !!
Best color on you !!! Fits you very well I could never pull of red
Thank you! 🤍
Hi I just wanted to know which protein filler do you recommended? The one you have in your video Sally's beauty doesn't Carry it no more.
They've been removed from Amazon, sally's, ect. Lmk if you found anything 😔
Girl I was worried my hair wasn’t gonna come out because I’ve been dying it black but this video gave me hope
Have you done it? Same here I’ve been dying my hair black and wanna go red let me know how it goes girl
@@montserratmunoz175 I tried it girl it only came out a bit like a dark red I wanna try it again though see if maybe I can get it brighter
@@abbyfuentes322 i went to Sally’s today to buy the stuff and I chickened out 😩what volume of developer did you use girl ?
@@montserratmunoz175 I used 30 volume
After the color removal was your head orange ? i did mine & it was mostly black than orange , like it shows in her video
Omgeeeee I’m so glad I found your video, I have stubborn grays so I’ve been using black boxed dye for a long while now. I want a change and wasn’t sure how, thanks to you now I know how!! Simply gorgeous hair!! Thank you!
Girlll I might have to dye my hair red now
Never thought to use petroleum jelly!
Wow, as a hair design student, you have done a ton of research good job girly
please do the video about how you take care of your red hair!! any suggestions on shampoo and conditioner?
Hi my dear, yes that video is COMING SOON 🥰✨ currently I’m loving the Redken color extend magnetics! I’ve also tried the macadamia one in the past! If you want a budget friendly option check out L’Oréal ever pure as it is sulfate free and will prevent your color from fading!
@@romancealonzo thank you so much for your tips! Can’t wait to see your video!!
So if the hair is naturally black & was bleached and dyed red at the salon, I can still use the steps in the video to achieve a darker red?
I know in the video she said that hi lift isn’t recommended all the time so what to do to keep the color?
like next time just bleach the roots and touch up with a red color for the other parts of the hair?
thank you!
I came across your videos a few days ago , now I’m sitting in my bathroom waiting to wash 😂 I followed everything you told me to do and bought everything you got including the hair mask so I’m praying it’ll turn out exactly like yours 🥺💛
Update : turned out nothing like yours 🥺 and my roots are brighter than my whole hair 🥲😂
Same thing happened to me 😭
@romance what do you think went wrong?
U can use toner to neautrlize it, never put 30 vol on roots coz roots always lift lighter
@@93used roots lift quicker so have to apply 20 vol maximum
@@katylon does not doing your roots also sound like an idea?
thank you so much for making this video!! your absolutely gorgeous and i love your hair! do you know if it would be okay if i did all of these steps without the hair color remover? mine is at a natural brown right now.
Hi love, yes you should be fine! Color remover is only needed on previously dyed hair :).
Girl my hair is black rn and I want it dark red, what do you think if I just put red box dye on top?? 😬
Hi love, if your hair is virgin black it might show up a little but if it is box dyed most likely will only show on roots!
Magenta Red look beautiful on you! Your skin stands out. I did exactly as you did in Video... Love my Red hair❤. Thanks.
do you always have to use a color remover if you already have dyed hair cause I already have red hair so can I just go in without the color remover? genuinely curious :)
Or redo ur ends
@@user-dz4fh1kz9s did u you use 20 or 30 volume developer? :)
this was really helpful and youre really pretty !! thank u sm
Hi love ❤ omg I wanna go red but with a hint of violet ima do 2 boxes of magenta ❤and 1 and a half of violet 💜how much would you recommend of developer
my hair came out so good following this video, thank you 😭🙏🏼
Hi!! this is the perfect video omg thank you so much for explaining everything thoroughly! I just dyed my hair red without any bleach today - when do you recommend me using your method? Should I wait a couple days to do your method or should I wait a little bit longer? My hair is naturally black and I used red dye yesterday but it just left a really unnoticeable dark red shade. Please respond when you can! Thank you!
Hi love, I’d wait atleast two weeks to a month to give your hair a break and then try this technique :)
@ridddiil a so did this technique work on your black hair? I need to know bc I have dark hair too lol
hi! did this technique work on your black hair?
Just did this and I love the result thank you
This video is AMAZING! How did the dye lift the black that the color remover didn’t lift?
I was planning to do color remover, bleach, then dye…but I’d much rather skip the bleach!
Your hair looks so beautiful and shiny before and after .. love it so much ❤
Thank you!♥️
Love the protein filler.
Thank you!
Omg ❤love ur hair color 🫶🏼🫶🏼 I’m buying the product tomorrow to do my hair 🥰 thank u love 💗 for this video ❤❤❤
Would like to ask, how long do you wait yntil you do your roots?
@@romancealonzo omg thank you so much I had this question right now 💗 great video btw bb
Love love love!!! Do you know if it’s safe to do this on relaxed hair?
@@romancealonzo ok thank you 🙏🏻 i might just try it haha can’t afford to see a professional 😭
This literally happened to me did you find any method that helped you ?
@@Guilfreefoods lmao felt that, Im gonna dye my hair like this in a couple days and I got two boxes of the color remover but Ive dyed it in the past as in 2 years ago

This is like my 100th time watching this !! The results are amazing 🤩
I'm glad I found a dye thay it's made for natural dark hair and apparently works! There's a lot of videos of girls using this dye. But I'm so sad it isn't sold here in Brazil, and in Amazon it gets super expensive when I do the currency conversion 😪

I love this colour, if have brown hair with blonde highlights. what should I use instead if the magenta is for dark hair?
i want to dye my hair a dark red (less vibrant than yours) should i use a 20 volume developer instead of a 30 volume developer?
Yes, the lower the developer the darker the red will be :)
@@romancealonzo ok ty!
And Your Hair Does Absolute Look Flawless!! 🥰

The last time I dyed my hair black was December. I’m trying to go red again. Do you think I need to use color remover?
Yes you need to remove the black dye. Or the red will not stick

@@yolkgut6851 it didn’t go well 😔 after dying it my hair was dry and it looked the same but with small hints of dark red, so I waited 2 weeks and dyed it again and it looks closer to the color I wanted but not exact and it’s extremely dry, brittle, and frizzy, still curly but some curls aren’t as curly, I’ve been doing expensive hair mask like every 2-3 days to try and bring back moisture but it’s still so dry

i really love this video... Im dying my hair for the first time sunday.
