Can't argue the fact that this is one of the best channels on TH-cam currently and that is because this is the best team anyone has put together. Cleetus is a genius. I'm 74 and enjoy this Chanel very much. I was 10 feet tall and bullet proof once myself. The most amazing thing I saw this week was a year old video of George and the wheel standing Fierro. The camera captured what words can't really describe. The deep concern Cleetus has for the safety of his friends, crew, and in this case George. This is a very nice team and it is a privilege to watch them grow together. Peace Y'all.

Damn straight, I'm an instrument tech by trade so have to deal with industrial control systems, including the communications side, but I still hate dealing with car wiring, especially modern vehicles. Zach knows his stuff 👍
Watching this video made me think about how far this crew has come. From when Cleetus was renting a corner in Jeremy’s shop, to bringing James on, to the crew he has assembled. The shenanigans and racing are always a highlight for the week!

TIme flys when you're having fun but it keeps compounding every year. Seems like ages ago he was even on a rocky mountain race week, let alone didn't own a race track. Ruby is now the red headed step child while Mullet is on v3. All while both cleetus and me are about to be a father of two under 2. I think my life flys by but God his must like watching mullet on the back end compared to mine.😂
Not only that, but machining is a dying art and there aren't many young guys who want to get into it so a lot of old tricks and knowledge are going the way of the dodo.

i used to work on those freightliners and they have a bleed fitting right on the fuel filter housing, you can get a pressurizer bottle and put the same fitting in the end of the pressurizer and it’ll bleed it and start first time!
Manufacture spec for the primer is 250 pumps and if you ever worked on those dd13 and dd15 it almost never starts that’s way! You can buy a esoc system/cart to pressurize the system to pull air out and prime the system without even the truck running

You might be right, I mean Mcflurry needs a little more work before it can safely go into the 6s but it'll be fully capable of doing it. Meanwhile Mullet is about tapped on it's potential. They really can't make Mullet much lighter without going to a tube chassis, which might be what they have planned but who knows. But if they do a few more things to Mcflurry and put bigger turbos on it after world cup they might be knocking on the door of Mullet soon.
Seriously, sounds like this coyote won’t be as capable, but with a better engine, McFlurry could run nearly as fast as Snot Rocket (that green coyote mustang that ran 6.33 to beat Mullet). Probably should upgrade the roll cage, currently only good for 7.50, can easily cut a lot of weight from a fox body too.
Tell zack there’s a hand primer for the fuel system on the toter next to the filter housing. The starting system will more than likely go into overheat protection mode if attempting to prime the system just by cranking. And don’t use ether/starting fluid.
Diesel tech here. Those Detroit's have an aluminum fuel pump. They require 95 p.s.i. of constant fuel pressure for three minutes after a filter change. The primer pump is made by Davco for Detroit Diesel. You can use the hand primer at the filter housing but have to pump it a minimum of 150 to 200 times before the filters have enough fuel. Also never use staring fluid on a modern diesel engine with an aluminum fuel pump or one that has a grid heater for the intake.

ZACK! hey freightliner tech here be careful doing a service on those DD15s without a fuel primer quick way to let those high pressure pumps eat itself they relay on fuel for lubrication. anyways use the hand pump primer on it. LPPO pressure needs minimum 35 psi before injectors will fire, should take about 100-200 hand pumps. just pump until you feel pressure building then pump while having someone crank it over. Once running hold rpm up to about 1000-1200 rpm until you hear air stop chirping, drive it dont shut it off. Or just get Cleet to buy a DAVCO fuel primer lol also fyi its 11gal oil
So glad Tye chose to low mount the turbos. I was never a fan of turbos out of the hood. Surprised that Tye hasn't started his own shop yet. He's one talented dude.

He could definitely start his own shop but being a business owner ain't for everyone, I bet he'd end up doing less fab just to deal with the business side of things. Plus this way he gets to go on race trips, cleet sponsored track days, ripping the FF, and all the other cool shit that this squad gets to do on the clock. If I was Tye I wouldn't leave unless I was being wildly underpaid which I don't think is the case. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes side jobs here and there in the summer when things are slower at the shop but owning and running a business is a whole different animal.
I am a certified diesel mechanic and please please please get the j-47912 Detroit fuel primer it will save your fuel pump from running dry and grenading itself. As always great video! Hell yeah brother!

This is coming from a Chevy 427 powered Foxbody guy... Imagine how fast McFlurry can be with snot rockets drivetrain... you're just not getting the same results out of an LS unless you spend twice as much and even then look at how many stock components you can use when using the coyote.. Stella stock crank all the way up to 3,000 HP basically just need to leave your stock engine and put billet oil pump gears in it stock cams even 😂 there's just no comparison out there
Kinda hard unless you have a channel like this that pays you to pretty much build and race these cars, or if you’re just wealthy in general. Would be pretty hard for a regular person to spend $15-20k on a short block alone like this one, a $5k intake and the 10s of thousands of other minor things in this single car alone. I actually bought this exact short block from TKM and am putting it in my black on black 93 notchback. Will be a pretty much identical setup to McFlurry but mine has a tubed chassis. But yeah, really, really expensive to just do this for a hobby.
Its incredible how far this channel has come. In the beginning it was insane for Leroy to make 1000 hp. And now it’s just another Friday for a new car to get a 1000+hp motor
props for him tryen to change fuel filters on the toater. So i work on these trucks daily Step 1 take old filter off (make sure seals and gaskets are all removed), step 2 fill new filter with diesel and then screw into place, Step 3 I noticed on your truck you have a priming hand pump at the 2.52 mark just to the right of your oil filter cap (big black stop sign shaped nipple cap) is a nob the unscrews (right handed threads) when unscrewed all the way you pull up and this works as a pump priming the rest of the lines. When the pump becomes firm screw it back down and fire the truck.
@tymosher17 right? I guess he doesn't recall that all it took was heads cam and exhaust and the fbodies were dragging cobras all day. Just add nitrous for the modded cobras. Don't get me wrong I liked them both, but gm cars were walking the ford's on the regular aside from rare exceptions. Hell the 97' RS Camaro with the 3.8L i had in high school would run door to door with the auto GTs at the time with just an intake and full exhaust lol
i know it would be a lot of work, but I would love to see Tye have his own sub channel where he talks about all the fab work he does. I would love to hear his thought process on welding up some turbo pipes like this. The time lapse is fun to watch but I'd subscribe and watch fab videos for sure.
Personally going to just skip through this content there is plenty of coyote foxy bodies to watch and it gets a little boring after a bit.. Godzilla is what made the content fun and interesting to watch since it’s unproven combination. That’s kind of what this channels content has always been to. The unconventional.

Those Detroit engines have a manual pump on the fuel filter housing you have to pump it about 200 times when you change the filters... alternatively Detroit makes a factory too that is an electric pump you can hook up to bleed the system.
So far it has not not proven to be any more reliable than the Mcdonalds ice cream machine. Hopefully having a fully built Coyote will resolve that. They could barely make 2-3 passes with the Godzilla engine before it kicked a head gasket or worse. Glad they finally switched to a better platform.

I would like to say that on dd13 and dd15 Detroit’s to change oil and start for a min and then change gas filters. There is also a hand primer between the two gas filters. I am a service tech and Doggett frightliner and we have had people come in doing a service them selfs and trying to start changing both and it can dry out the bearing surface on the crank because it is a “hard dry start” just a tip

@TheFlooringInspector82 I disagree. The big block is cool and all. But there is a reason why there are more and more Coyotes entering his fleet. Brett Lasala has been proving the potential of the Coyote engine and continues to keep pushing the bar with it, and even Cleetus can't deny how much potential it has. Hell, even Cooper wants to ditch the 2j in the Camaro for a Coyote now.
I'll agree with you that the Coyote is a good Engine but King Daddy, better than the SMX, I don't think so, it may be competition with the LS but that's it.
@michaelwynne4346 for the cost? Not even close. You're talking about a $75,000+ billet block / head manufactured in the aftermarket. Compared to an OEM casted head and block that had been sleeved with billet main caps for a third of the cost. Keep in mind that Lasala went 6.3x with a similar engine configuration in drag and drive trim compared to mullet 6.5x. Proof is in the pudding. I'm not going to be shocked if McFlurry ends up being faster than Mullet once they go with a bigger turbo configuration.
So didn't the Godzilla get dry decked and top fuel hoops? I thought the plan was to keep modding the Godzilla till the block broke? What happened to that? You might be right, I mean Mcflurry needs a little more work before it can safely go into the 6s but it'll be fully capable of doing it. Meanwhile Mullet is about tapped on it's potential. They really can't make Mullet much lighter without going to a tube chassis, which might be what they have planned but who knows. But if they do a few more things to Mcflurry and put bigger turbos on it after world cup they might be knocking on the door of Mullet soon.

Seriously, sounds like this coyote won’t be as capable, but with a better engine, McFlurry could run nearly as fast as Snot Rocket (that green coyote mustang that ran 6.33 to beat Mullet).
Probably should upgrade the roll cage, currently only good for 7.50, can easily cut a lot of weight from a fox body too.

Tell zack there’s a hand primer for the fuel system on the toter next to the filter housing. The starting system will more than likely go into overheat protection mode if attempting to prime the system just by cranking. And don’t use ether/starting fluid.
You can use starter fluid have for years.

Diesel tech here. Those Detroit's have an aluminum fuel pump. They require 95 p.s.i. of constant fuel pressure for three minutes after a filter change. The primer pump is made by Davco for Detroit Diesel. You can use the hand primer at the filter housing but have to pump it a minimum of 150 to 200 times before the filters have enough fuel. Also never use staring fluid on a modern diesel engine with an aluminum fuel pump or one that has a grid heater for the intake.

ZACK! hey freightliner tech here be careful doing a service on those DD15s without a fuel primer quick way to let those high pressure pumps eat itself they relay on fuel for lubrication. anyways use the hand pump primer on it. LPPO pressure needs minimum 35 psi before injectors will fire, should take about 100-200 hand pumps. just pump until you feel pressure building then pump while having someone crank it over. Once running hold rpm up to about 1000-1200 rpm until you hear air stop chirping, drive it dont shut it off. Or just get Cleet to buy a DAVCO fuel primer lol also fyi its 11gal oil

I'm betting cleetus takes darn good care of him. He brought the level of this channel way up. An judging how cleetus takes good care his people, I'm betting he's loven it rite were he's at. Not to say he couldn't open a shop also and keep working on cleetus stuff.
He's definitely talented, but I am pretty sure Cleetus pays very well and it seems like being a part of something like this is far more fun and less stressful than running a shop. just my $.02.....

He could definitely start his own shop but being a business owner ain't for everyone, I bet he'd end up doing less fab just to deal with the business side of things. Plus this way he gets to go on race trips, cleet sponsored track days, ripping the FF, and all the other cool shit that this squad gets to do on the clock. If I was Tye I wouldn't leave unless I was being wildly underpaid which I don't think is the case. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes side jobs here and there in the summer when things are slower at the shop but owning and running a business is a whole different animal.

I am a certified diesel mechanic and please please please get the j-47912 Detroit fuel primer it will save your fuel pump from running dry and grenading itself. As always great video! Hell yeah brother!
Yep. Not a diesel mech myself but worked at a shop for a while and we had to pay some serious money to fix a truck our mech screwed up just that way

This is coming from a Chevy 427 powered Foxbody guy... Imagine how fast McFlurry can be with snot rockets drivetrain... you're just not getting the same results out of an LS unless you spend twice as much and even then look at how many stock components you can use when using the coyote.. Stella stock crank all the way up to 3,000 HP basically just need to leave your stock engine and put billet oil pump gears in it stock cams even 😂 there's just no comparison out there

Kinda hard unless you have a channel like this that pays you to pretty much build and race these cars, or if you’re just wealthy in general. Would be pretty hard for a regular person to spend $15-20k on a short block alone like this one, a $5k intake and the 10s of thousands of other minor things in this single car alone. I actually bought this exact short block from TKM and am putting it in my black on black 93 notchback. Will be a pretty much identical setup to McFlurry but mine has a tubed chassis. But yeah, really, really expensive to just do this for a hobby.

Tye & Zach are the whole reason to watch the channel. I love all of these guys but these 2 are the background genius that makes it all happen.
props for him tryen to change fuel filters on the toater. So i work on these trucks daily Step 1 take old filter off (make sure seals and gaskets are all removed), step 2 fill new filter with diesel and then screw into place, Step 3 I noticed on your truck you have a priming hand pump at the 2.52 mark just to the right of your oil filter cap (big black stop sign shaped nipple cap) is a nob the unscrews (right handed threads) when unscrewed all the way you pull up and this works as a pump priming the rest of the lines. When the pump becomes firm screw it back down and fire the truck.

@tymosher17 right? I guess he doesn't recall that all it took was heads cam and exhaust and the fbodies were dragging cobras all day. Just add nitrous for the modded cobras. Don't get me wrong I liked them both, but gm cars were walking the ford's on the regular aside from rare exceptions. Hell the 97' RS Camaro with the 3.8L i had in high school would run door to door with the auto GTs at the time with just an intake and full exhaust lol
i know it would be a lot of work, but I would love to see Tye have his own sub channel where he talks about all the fab work he does. I would love to hear his thought process on welding up some turbo pipes like this. The time lapse is fun to watch but I'd subscribe and watch fab videos for sure.

Those Detroit engines have a manual pump on the fuel filter housing you have to pump it about 200 times when you change the filters... alternatively Detroit makes a factory too that is an electric pump you can hook up to bleed the system.
I work for a Freightliner dealer, you can damage the fuel pump if you keep cranking it.
Love seeing cleetus using TKM, been watching John doc for years and they built him some amazing engines.

So far it has not not proven to be any more reliable than the Mcdonalds ice cream machine. Hopefully having a fully built Coyote will resolve that. They could barely make 2-3 passes with the Godzilla engine before it kicked a head gasket or worse. Glad they finally switched to a better platform.

I would like to say that on dd13 and dd15 Detroit’s to change oil and start for a min and then change gas filters. There is also a hand primer between the two gas filters. I am a service tech and Doggett frightliner and we have had people come in doing a service them selfs and trying to start changing both and it can dry out the bearing surface on the crank because it is a “hard dry start” just a tip

@TheFlooringInspector82 I disagree. The big block is cool and all. But there is a reason why there are more and more Coyotes entering his fleet. Brett Lasala has been proving the potential of the Coyote engine and continues to keep pushing the bar with it, and even Cleetus can't deny how much potential it has. Hell, even Cooper wants to ditch the 2j in the Camaro for a Coyote now.

I'll agree with you that the Coyote is a good Engine but King Daddy, better than the SMX, I don't think so, it may be competition with the LS but that's it.
@michaelwynne4346 for the cost? Not even close. You're talking about a $75,000+ billet block / head manufactured in the aftermarket. Compared to an OEM casted head and block that had been sleeved with billet main caps for a third of the cost. Keep in mind that Lasala went 6.3x with a similar engine configuration in drag and drive trim compared to mullet 6.5x. Proof is in the pudding. I'm not going to be shocked if McFlurry ends up being faster than Mullet once they go with a bigger turbo configuration.
Cleetus and crew are the best team. They all work together like a well tuned machine they just do what needs to be done. Super team Bartle skeet.
