Not a ford guy, but a low small tire fox body really does something for me. McFlurry is really gonna stand out in a endless sea of turbo fox bodies. Turbos out the hood and a Lenco/Bruno drive. You will be hard pressed to find another one like this.
I think this Godzilla is going to hurt a lot of feelings out there on the drag strip. It's been a while since Ford has had a big displacement over square V8. That throttle response sounds snappy.
As a shop owner i want to say, i really hope you understand exactly how GREAT your entire team is. This was done so fast and still extremely clean. 12/10 they showed out like normal.
These guys have perks that 99% of people could only dream of. They get paid to do what they love. They get to go racing on the teams dime. Super chill boss and a great atmosphere! I'm sure it's not always rainbows and unicorns, but I'm betting it's more wins than losses.

@CleetusM Couple things to know about lencos. They freewheel so you are basically in neutral as soon as you lift. Since they freewheel when parking if you don't want it to roll forward put it in reverse, if you don't want to roll backwards put it in forward. Also for burnouts you typically can start with all levers back except the 1st to 2nd lever. This will put you somewhere around 3rd gear. Once the wheels are spinning you can throw that last lever back to get high gear
Tye is amazing!! Tyes idea of building a quick sloppy turbo kit is way better than most peoples full effort builds. You guys are so lucky to have a guy with this much skill who really enjoys hie work. I have about 20 years experience welding and doing fabrication but I would fly in from Pa to help Tye on a big project for free just so I can learn from him.

I really agree. This man has been in the 6s in Mullet, had the first stick shift LS pass in Leroy, owns a friggin Ripsaw, but is STILL giddy when he gets to use cool stuff that he's never experienced. It's just good, clean, wholesome entertainment.

If I was cleetus,I'd purchase the property around Bradenton raceway and build houses on it. With a 99 year lease stating that you understand about the raceway. And can never vote against its removal. Have all the homes look similar with all have very nice high ceilings garages and good concrete for lifts. Literally have a community of racers.

Yea, you can already build a full blown race 7.3 now, there's already a decent selection of parts(considering how young the platform is). Maybe not a decent selection of affordable parts, but there's a decent selection of parts lol. Let's see if anyone actually puts out an aftermarket head(casting) for it - it isn't OHC, so that significantly increases the odds lol

But this...this is it.* Throaty, but not tinny, roaring, but not screaming, and the whines and whistles of those turbos sound so much like the Batmobile's startup that it's uncanny. I looked at Lenco webside, and it seems you should shift front gearbox first and work your way to the back, but you are shifting rear gearbox first. You can also hear that rpm drop is getting bigger when shifting to the higher gears, but rpm drop should be biggest at first gear shift and than get smaller. I think you connected levers in opposite direction.
I 100% agree those guys both deserve it, but I'd be curious to see how logistics would be on a race week, considering they are both such crucial components to keeping the other cars together all week. If anyone could do it, it would be these guys for sure, though
Man gotta admire the enthusiasm with one of those thrash it together all nighters. Hope Cleetus offered some rooms at La Hacienda McFarland for those dudes who don't live nearby(I know ls Jorge lives WAY WAY WAY far away from work). Driving dead tired is WAY WAY WAY more dangerous than driving 4-5 beers buzzed. Sadly I've done both. After almost driving into the right hand ditch at 7:30am on I-24 east near Murfreesboro at 75mph, I swore off 3rd shift for life. The sun was shining almost straight into my eyes, yet I was so tired I couldn't keep the loud ass Camaro on the road or even in my lane.
For the parking brake, have tye fab up a little hook that flips up off the floor and catches the lever for the brake pedal so you push the pedal down and it holds it for you
One of the things I love about cleeter is the man is so obsessed with going fast, he doesn't even have time to worry about how to make the car do anything else! No park, no problem!
Best thing I’ve bought for doing coolant/water in your cars is a vacuum filler tool that connects to your air hose and it pulls a vacuum on your whole systems then uses vacuum to fill it up. Best thing ever and I’ve almost never had air in my cooking systems and makes bleeding coolant much faster
You guys kill it every time. Mullet running under 6.50s and you last minute build a godzilla fox body, shtap it. You are going to run the 6-7-8 for sick week. Tye and and Zack crush it on build, Cleet you have built a hell of a team.

Don't know about Lenco Transmissions. Should the driveshaft yoke go inside the end of the transmission? Even Cletus commented room to spare. Not feeling good about those flying showing but I really don't know with this transmission. Hope there's no bent output shaft in your future. I've had a lesser transmission Bend the splines because the shaft was short.
Defo my fave car of the fleet! I've ALWAYS wanted a Notchback white turbo Fox body with a drag wing, and that's one hell of a white notchback turbo Fox body!
Yes, the first few times someone with experience has to drive this thing to figure it out at least a little bit before going balls to the wall with it. James or Cleetus almost have to be the one and even then take it a bit slow and learn how it works. Thanks for the fun times!

I have met 2 different guys with lenco's but they were both clutch cars. They were able to put in forward and reverse along with down shifting. I am curious how this is going to work out for you guys, can't wait to see the progress.....
Yep same... When I first saw that Cleet bought that transmission I jumped on yt to look up videos of it since I never heard about it and the BIG majority of builds I saw had also the clutch. So I wonder how they are adapting to be clutch-less
I’m really curious how this is gonna work out on the street driving. Acts like it’s only able to go up gears unless you stop and start again in 1st. I think Larry Larson had a Lenco in his car/truck when he would run. But, I think that one was a clutch setup too. With the torque converter it may not be able to unload everything to downshift like it should.
For parking brake you can use a device that's sort of a reverse line lock. I have one that someone installed on my forklift before I bought it because the mechanical parking brake checked out at some point. You apply the brake, push a button to energize the solenoid, release the brake then release the button and the brake stays on until you hit the pedal again.
That car sounds good. I appreciate seeing the process coming together, and putting it on the track. I feel great when I make a small repair on my car so I can only imagine how good it feels when it runs with the installs that you guys do to the vehicles.
I wish I was able to go there today. You'd figure that me living 20 minutes away and driving by the track daily on the way home from work I would know the track was open.
Electronics are awesome for tuning. Back when I started in the early 90s no such thing as a wide band, we just monitored EGT and pulled the plugs after each run.
@@danhammond8406 I get the whole joke and reality of the reliability of fords but I can easily say this is not a 1980-2003 factory spec ford the reliability has changed over the years and given this engine is actually a van motor ford made it'll last a fair bit but with the way they push their drag cars it might last a few months before it gives but time will tell
It sounds like a giant 302 or Windsor, a little more Windsor with that throaty sound. Glad to see an actual Ford motor in a Ford though, and I can tell this thing is going to make some serious competition.

How is it an awesome build? A twin turbo 7.3 only making 720hp. There’s 3.0L making more than that in pump gas.

If I was cleetus,I'd purchase the property around Bradenton raceway and build houses on it. With a 99 year lease stating that you understand about the raceway. And can never vote against its removal.
Have all the homes look similar with all have very nice high ceilings garages and good concrete for lifts. Literally have a community of racers.

Love the notch-back Foxes. I worked in Detroit in 97-98 all the guys with mod'd Ford's were Fox bodies. Ford had brought out the new platform by then with the 4.6L, but the old 5.0 Fox was still the car to run.

I looked at Lenco webside, and it seems you should shift front gearbox first and work your way to the back, but you are shifting rear gearbox first. You can also hear that rpm drop is getting bigger when shifting to the higher gears, but rpm drop should be biggest at first gear shift and than get smaller. I think you connected levers in opposite direction.

I 100% agree those guys both deserve it, but I'd be curious to see how logistics would be on a race week, considering they are both such crucial components to keeping the other cars together all week.

Man gotta admire the enthusiasm with one of those thrash it together all nighters. Hope Cleetus offered some rooms at La Hacienda McFarland for those dudes who don't live nearby(I know ls Jorge lives WAY WAY WAY far away from work). Driving dead tired is WAY WAY WAY more dangerous than driving 4-5 beers buzzed. Sadly I've done both. After almost driving into the right hand ditch at 7:30am on I-24 east near Murfreesboro at 75mph, I swore off 3rd shift for life. The sun was shining almost straight into my eyes, yet I was so tired I couldn't keep the loud ass Camaro on the road or even in my lane.
Mcflurry is by far the coolest build I've seen , due to me being a mustang guy !

For the parking brake, have tye fab up a little hook that flips up off the floor and catches the lever for the brake pedal so you push the pedal down and it holds it for you
You can shift a lenco in any pattern. Ideally you'd shift the case closest to the bellhousing first, but it is kind of just user preference.
One of the things I love about cleeter is the man is so obsessed with going fast, he doesn't even have time to worry about how to make the car do anything else! No park, no problem!
Parking brake is weight, weight is not speed, must go faster
Best thing I’ve bought for doing coolant/water in your cars is a vacuum filler tool that connects to your air hose and it pulls a vacuum on your whole systems then uses vacuum to fill it up. Best thing ever and I’ve almost never had air in my cooking systems and makes bleeding coolant much faster

Don't know about Lenco Transmissions. Should the driveshaft yoke go inside the end of the transmission? Even Cletus commented room to spare. Not feeling good about those flying showing but I really don't know with this transmission. Hope there's no bent output shaft in your future. I've had a lesser transmission Bend the splines because the shaft was short.

Yes, the first few times someone with experience has to drive this thing to figure it out at least a little bit before going balls to the wall with it. James or Cleetus almost have to be the one and even then take it a bit slow and learn how it works. Thanks for the fun times!

I have met 2 different guys with lenco's but they were both clutch cars. They were able to put in forward and reverse along with down shifting. I am curious how this is going to work out for you guys, can't wait to see the progress.....
Yep same... When I first saw that Cleet bought that transmission I jumped on yt to look up videos of it since I never heard about it and the BIG majority of builds I saw had also the clutch. So I wonder how they are adapting to be clutch-less
I’m really curious how this is gonna work out on the street driving. Acts like it’s only able to go up gears unless you stop and start again in 1st.
I think Larry Larson had a Lenco in his car/truck when he would run. But, I think that one was a clutch setup too. With the torque converter it may not be able to unload everything to downshift like it should.
For parking brake you can use a device that's sort of a reverse line lock. I have one that someone installed on my forklift before I bought it because the mechanical parking brake checked out at some point. You apply the brake, push a button to energize the solenoid, release the brake then release the button and the brake stays on until you hit the pedal again.

@@danhammond8406 I get the whole joke and reality of the reliability of fords but I can easily say this is not a 1980-2003 factory spec ford the reliability has changed over the years and given this engine is actually a van motor ford made it'll last a fair bit but with the way they push their drag cars it might last a few months before it gives but time will tell
What’s shitty is the damn weak point of that motor. 1000wheel the heads will stay on but it’ll put a rod though the block well before anything else.
