There have been many great adaptations of Dick Grayson in shows like "Batman: The Animated Series," "Young Justice," and "Teen Titans." Many adaptations include instances of Nightwing being incapacitated or even outright killing the character, as seen in the Injustice universe or the DCEU Snyderverse. The Nightwing character has made a significant impact in DC Comics continuity, the Batman Arkham games, the DCAMU, and the Batfamily overall. I love Dick. Even when I was little I liked Dick the most. The way Dick flips around and hits people in their faces with that stick is so iconic. I remember seeing Dick for the first time and saying to myself “whoa Dick is hard af”. And Dick only really gets better with age. I met a girl once who said she didn’t like Dick so I told her how much I loved Dick and we never spoke again, true story.

The one thing I love about Nightwing is that he actually surpassed Batman as a hero unlike his other Bat family compatriots by doing what Batman was either afraid to do or couldn't do in the first place like actually allowing himself to be in a loving relationship and fight crime at the same time (Catwoman only really went after Batman just for his money, I mean she has screwed him over multiple times in different adaptations) or taking down his parents' killer (which is what Batman couldn't do in some adaptations). Hell, you know he's a great superhero when he's the leader AND strategist of a team as well as gaining the respect of JL members way older than him.

As a Red Hood fan (he’s my favorite DC character along with Dick), I wholeheartedly agree. Imo they need to keep him away from the batfamily, it already pushes him into an awkward status quo that never really fits his character. They either make him stop killing, which treats his philosophy as if it’s 100% in the wrong when he’s quite frankly right, or they make him be on really uneasy and uncomfortable terms with his other batfamily members. Just let him do his own thing and lead his own team or something, or just let him go solo.
@@TheUnknownGruntProductions ultimately he’s a character who doesn’t really work. He has the same problem as the Punisher. You can’t have a hero who kills super villains when he is just killing random goons. The Punisher and Moon Knight solve this issue however, as those characters have their own rouges gallery. Whereas Red Hood is tied to the Batman mythos, and no matter what happens, they’re not gonna kill off the Joker or etc to further Jason’s character. It’s just unfortunate, cause clearly the character hasn’t had a solid vision since his initial comeback. I hope one day they’ll find out something for Jason, but I know this sounds harsh, but it’s probably best to retire him until we get a solid idea that their willing to go with
@@joeker5208 Honestly, I think the concept they had with his outlaws run (where it’s him, bizarro, and Artemis) was pretty solid. Just the three of them dealing with villains and working through their personal issues. Honestly, they need to give him his own cast of deplorable villains. It’s a lot easier to reconcile with him killing the random
Goons when they’re working for a person that’s pure evil, not just some random crime boss. If you make it clear the goons are evil themselves and also terrible people, it’s not as much of a problem. Another solution is for him to be more non-lethal with the goons, and mainly focus on killing the actual bosses. Either one works.
Though ultimately you’re right, his constant connection to the Batman mythos is always gonna keep him in an awkward loop. I just think they really need to give him time as a solo act. Give him his own villains and give him his own city like Nightwing. He really needs some Nightwing treatment.

Batman is a less Dark and flawed version of Alfred, that is what Nightwing is to Batman. It's how a father son dynamic should go, passing down the best parts of you with few of the worst

This is the main reason why I hated the Harley Quinn show. Nightwing isn’t just some sidekick with a thick cake, but an inspiration to everyone. He’s what Batman wishes he could be. A hero that’s moved on from the past.

The DCAU treatment of Nightwing has always annoyed me to my core, especially because the writers deemed it necessary to circle jerk how great Damien is, at the expense of Nightwing most of the time, or they'd use him as a litmus test to show how badass the main antagonist is, but by the 4th time they keep using the same old trick, it only lowers the reputation of Nightwing rather than elevating the main villain

I know you mention in it in this, but the first two seasons of young justice go down in my book as some of the best DC content. Robin realising that he didn't want to be 'The Batman' was such a genuinely interesting thing to see. And Batman didn't want robin to become him either. That's batman, not just some Psychopath in a suit, a man with issues who is trying their hardest to make the lives of those around him better. Also Season 2 Nightwing's look is the best Nightwing look imo.

Injustice showed how much bruce loves grayson in media, he disowned Damien and openly weaped infront of catwoman, plus in the comics he went mad when kg beast shot nightwing he didn't kill him but practically did left kg beast unable to move in the middle of nowhere.

Doug Moenchs run on batman (pre-crisis and post) are my fave runs. Where Doug always writes Bruce as a good but struggling father that does his best. But i also cant deny the Bad dad Bruce allegations when DC really has the man out slitting his sons throat or emotionally manipulating his kids to get them on his side.

For a long time, if you asked who my favorite DC character was I would have said Batman. But I've realized that I actually like Nightwing better. I enjoy his sense of humor as well as his sense of responsibility. He has everything I love about Spider-man but the quips are a little toned down and you don't have the hard-luck side that gets really old for me (still love Spidey, though).

Rather than a movie, id love a 8-12 episode show similar to a police procedural. Put a highlight on Dick working as a detective for the Bludhaven PD during the days before taking to the streets at night. Make Blockbuster the season's villain, but give us other characters to fight and beat as episode villains
Please do a segment on Green Lantern John Stewart. His history has a lot to offer. From comics legend Len Wein introducing him to the Justice League. The epic Steve Englehart/Joe Staton/Bruce Patterson GL run in the ‘80’s. The acclaimed JUSTICE LEAGUE series. And the upcoming LANTERNS. GL Stewart is on the rise.
Side note: it was Englehart who pushed to make John a full time Lantern.

8:56 to be fair nightwing was still ready to swap hands until ivy pulled him away, batman has been caught off-guard by quinn in city and in the tie in comics too and penguin snuck up on both batman and dick in that moment, he is considered to be the only one in the arkhamverse to be equal to bruce to in both the physical and skill department and he is the one who took down croc and locked him in arkham city and in ss he seems to have but in the works since batman believes him and tim would beat the JL himself included with the help of his contingencies which is crazy considering there is no batman contingency and how powerful batman became in this period
