  • Todays famous Grave, I go to pay my respects to former England International Footballer Ray Wilkins.
Raymond Colin Wilkins, MBE (14 September 1956 - 4 April 2018) was an English football player and coach. Born into a footballing family with his father and three brothers involved in the game, Wilkins played as a midfielder.

Many, many years ago, I stopped to let Ray cross the road in Wimbledon High St. I shouted a “Hello Ray” out of the window, he smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I’m not a football fan, but it was nice to know that someone of his stature actually took the time to be nice and polite, and friendly. Many stars don’t. Thanks Ray. RIP 🙏🏼

Ray Wilkins played for some massive clubs and his talent is obvious, but it's his character which made him stand out. He was a gentleman. Despite his heart belonging to Chelsea he always spoke so well about his time with Manchester United, Rangers and other clubs. A great player, but an even better bloke. RIP Ray. GGMU. WATP.

Good tribute to a great player . I have noticed over the years how many footballers die young . Is it heading the ball and also putting a strain on the body with training and playing games on a regular basis ? I have supported WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS since 1971 with a season ticket for many years . The game has changed over the years and players are very transient , back in the 1970's we had the same players for many years . RIP RAY .

Until I watched your video I had no idea Ray Wilkins died, and Glen Hoddle had a heart attack. Life is fleeting, but when we face up to reality of living, accepting the painful losses, losing love ones and close friends, throughout the years, and that fateful moment, when we face our own mortality, looking death in the eye, it’s like a bitter pill to swallow, but something we all have to accept, no matter how much we try running away from the inevitable. Happiness and sadness go hand in hand, like sunrise and sunset, in a constant state of flux. RIP Ray Wilkins.

he has a lovely resting place, I remember a game from the 1986 World Cup in Mexico where he lost a stone a weight during the match. he was always one of the more interesting players to be interviewed and he loved to use the word super a lot. RIP Ray.

Great detail. Remember, heart attack and cardiac arrest are two different things. It's possible to survive a heart attack with no intervention, but not desirable! Cardiac arrest means the electrical activity of the heart has stopped completely. Sorry for the sermon, but I survived a cardiac arrest in 2009. Loving your vids.
