No matter how many different videos I listen to, this mans solo literally brings tears to my eyes, one of the greatest trombones solos I’ve ever heard.
They wasn’t ready the first time just in pure awe. This time they knew that vibration was on the way! Put a new spin on it too, this young brother is super talented.
Idk…we hear him perform this song in multiple videos and still it’s breathtaking. It’s like that one song in a gospel choir that makes everyone get the Holy Ghost
I first heard this solo high af and gone one night and it was the catalyst to get me to stop binge drinking and smoking. It’s been a year of sobriety now, GOD spoke through this man.
This is disgusting. Seriously heinous. More, Please! I love it. Wil, you make the trombone sound like a Kazoo, and I mean that as a compliment. I have never heard the trombone sound like that. Well done, Sir! Well done!!!
I have heard maybe 10-15 great trombonist during my life time. This young man just took the throne at the top. Im listening as I type this and this young man has a gift from Zulu himself. Im running out of words as this melodious symphony resonates through my soul. Im done!!!!!
Our world NEEDS a professional recording of this ASAP! Get Funk Phi Slide on America's Got Talent, in The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, or in a recording studio! I don't care what it takes, this needs to happen!
I'd rather listen to this on repeat than most rap songs nowadays. This is incredible making that trombone sang. Dude has some amazing talent a true gift. I don't know how I came across this video but it gave me chills fr.
I find one of will’s videos every year just to hear this solo, I don’t know who taught will but mannn the way he plays this piece it literally speaks to my soul
This is f'n beautiful! The kid projected his soul across the universe like a quasar and lit up our hearts. I can't hold in the tears of joy. The whole band is awesome.
Its the band hyping him and dancing for me. He did his thing with that solo. Its hard to make brass instruments sing like that, but when those that can do, its beautiful to witness. This is real passion for a craft and talent. Man is going places
THIS.. Is a prime example of pure, unadulterated ,raw God given talent. The mid horns holding the beat with solid harmony. The pedal notes punch you in the mouth. Then the singing solo mixed in. Im a band boy from way back. This is perfection balanced… Yes….
Don’t know how many times I’ve seen this but damn. I get emotional every time! Idk bout anyone else but, as a musician, I can feel the passion in this and it definitely tugs on some heart strings for me for sure.
The most incredible thing is out of the 4 recordings on youtube, he still has not mispitched or shanked a single note. Truly incredible how perfectly Wil plays it each time, just mastering the trombone.
You can LITERALLY feel the spirit in his playing! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾....The SOUL that he puts into that trombone!! And the brass section backing him up with those beautiful progressions and chords... 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Play that thang! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
For those looking for the trombonist playing the bass line (which is a full b flat)...he is just over the right shoulder of Mr. Bilal (to his left in the video). You can clearly see for each deep b flat he has the trombone in the 1st slide position whereas everyone else is playing either the harmony or counter melody.
This makes me emotional. I'm a trumpet player bit my Dad played trombone professionally. Whoever the dude is playing the soli is an exceptional talent 🥹
I just watched this band play this today at another game; it was trombones vs trombones. When BC played this; amazing, when this gentleman came in with that solo…. Oommmggggg I’ve watched this atleast; literally over 70x times… truly a gift from God.. that passion he had hitting every tune/note.. unbelievable.. when you graduate, go help some of these middle/high school students. Great job King 🤴🏾💯🙌🏽🙏🏽
Been in the music game for 20+ plus years ain't too many musicians give me the chills but this guy is special! Hope he is able to make a living off his gift cause his talent is needed on the scene to save what is becoming a novelty musically.
The UHOP produces some of the greatest brass players in the world. They are hidden gems. They start so young and perfect their trombones, baritones, and Sousaphones. It's amazing what they can do with the brass horns.
One of my regrets in life was not continuing to play the Euphonium. Watching Wil inspires me to pick back up my Euphonium (buy one) when I get my own house.
Can anyone explain to me why does this make me drip tears of joy every time i hear it. I must have heard this like 50 times and i still tear up every time, it never fails. Good job making that instrument do what it was born to do. 👏 👏 👏 👏
Watching this man take so much pride and energy to his craft, and his peers supporting him with as much energy as they can muster, still brings tears to my eyes after hearing him do this 100 times
The Most High has given this young brotha something special and you know it everytime you hear this lick! You feel the sound in your soul like a new language of communication crying into the depths of serious expressions that we have never heard before. I'm a musician and writer and you are appreciated and respected. All Praises to the Most High for such a gift. Shalom!
God has granted all of us the ability to be a shining beacon in a world often frought with darkness. This young man is such a beacon. Thank you Benedict College and Brother Bilal. Play on, Brother.
Can't listen to this and not feel something I've wasted my whole day looking big bro up and I am very impressed. Def touched my heart and soul with this performance brother thank you. Can't keep the tears back while listening

Crazy how a 2 minute solo solidifies William Bilal as the greatest to ever touch a trombone.
Very close
His older brother Hank has a Grammy.
The sound is so rich. Literally brings tears to my ears every time I hear the brother play. PHENOMENAL TALENT

Its just raw amazing talent each time! Unfiltered and unmatched.
