While I have every version, the Gameboy Color version is an easier introduction with fewer enemies on the screen; the Genesis version does have the invincibility code which can make practicing dodging enemies less of a hairpuller without the repercussions; but I'm with you, if for anything than for familiarizing with those two versions/methods first, and then being able to enjoy the stellar SNES rendition and the often overlooked GBA with extra content :).
I was a big arcade fan. Sega was huge at the arcades. For me sega was it, I rode with them 32x, sega cd, Saturn, Dreamcast. I also had Nintendo but I was team sega.
This kind of begs for disambiguation with the title mixups and omissions... Makaimura-Ghosts 'n Goblins (arcade/NES/GBC) Daimakaimura-Ghouls 'n Ghosts (arcade/Genesis/Supergrafx, and a very different Master System port) Chou Makaimura-Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts (SNES/GBA) Makaimura for Wonderswan (Wonderswan, and is its own unique game) Arthur to Astaroth no Nazomakaimura (Saturn/PS1, a puzzle game akin to Incredible Machine) Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins (PSP) Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection (all modern platforms) Then, the spinoff franchises of Gargoyle's Quest and Maximo... I mean, everyone has their favorite, and I'm not here to tell anyone they're wrong, but there's just a lot more to this series that got a lot of confusion in naming here. Personally, give me the Genesis Ghouls 'n Ghosts, becausr it feels closest to my favorite Capcom arcade game, Black Tiger, which was a sort of spiritual successor in its own right, down to the controls and armor/undies situation...

I’m saying the best is the gba game 😃
Daaaam this game rocks!
It sure does 😃
hes interchanging ghouls and ghost and ghost and goblins but they are separate games, seems confusing
It is all the same series 😃
Master system had a version.
I forgot about it ☹️
@@SecondOpinionGames1 not sure if it wad realised here though. It was in Europe.
Honestly, the double jump doesnt matter much in Super when losing the ability to aim up and down feels like a MASSIVE downgrade...
Do gargoyles quest next!
That’s a good idea 🤔
You forgot about the saturn/ps1 japan only port.
This was just a excuse to play through the GBA game
Have you played the new game?
Not yet but I hope to soon 😀
The Commodore 64 version has the best music.
Love the g and g music 😃
supergrafx...
It’s not that super 😃
