yeah if I was worried about someone stealing my battery I would put a chain and padlock on the hood-done deal;need to get rid of my 2005 sebring for a car that gets better gas mileage anyway.Seriously though you need to get to the battery at least once a year for corrosion on connectors anyway.
WTF!!! did I get myself into here? Are they serious....I'm in the snow on a gravel driveway...-3 with the wind chill... All my wife had to do was turn the car on once a week I told her...asked her if she was doing this for the last 3 weeks "a huh" there's a remote starter didn't even have to leave the house.....sent her the link. Not my circus not my monkey...🙈🙉🙊
Sebring replace battery SO VERY HELPFUL. Just bought a 2008 hardtop convertible an battery NEEDS replacing....VERY GREAT TEACHING YOUR VERY GOOD MECHANIC AN I THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO SAVED ME MONEY I DONT HAVE PAYING SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT.....GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS....PEACE PS LOL NICE MUSIC TO THE VIDEO LOL CLASSY TOUCH👍😁
Thank you for the video (and lighting), I suck as a man in the car repair department. . But your videos may change that. I'm tired of paying mechanics for procedures I can learn myself.
Thanks for the GREAT video. Clear, concise and to the point. I have one of these and soon plan to R&R battery. I knew it would be a pain, but did not expect this much. Again, thanks. Great video.
Thanks man. I had to get this job done and no one I went to either knew how to do it or didn't want to do it. Who knows. Finally I went to a jiffy lube and they cut open that protective cover.... Now I'm going to do the job myself
Thank you for the infornmation, my book for the car says you do not have to take the wheel off, but you showed me how it was not difficult and I thank you very much. Never will I buy another chrysler with the batter there.
Thank you for this video, it saved me $200 that the dealer does not deserve! Who ever heard of a battery in the wheel well? Not much room with the 3.5L engine in there. I noticed that you also have bubbles under your paint on the hood. They did not do something right.
Thanks a ton! I was looking at my options thinking maybe take the headlight and fusebox out but then thought... Hope its not the tire, and sure enough!
Im pretty sure my 2004 Sebring battery just died. It's at least 4 yrs old and im not getting any indicator lights on the console. Im going to try the 20 fuse 1st but i might as well just switch out the battery. Thanks for sharing this
Is there a name for that black flap that you have to take off to get to the battery? The little black connector pieces on my car are really beat up so I need to order a new "flap" and connecting pieces but I don't know what to search to try to find it
My firend just sold me this car and the way he replace the battery was to remove the metal side panel and move the headlight out of the way and pull it out honestly seems easier lol
ATTENTION‼️DO NOT disconnect the positive terminal before the negative one. Doing so can cause an electrical short. Always disconnect the negative battery terminal first. Battery cables have enough wiggle room to rotate the battery to access negative post
What a horrible spot to put the battery especially if you get into a car accident and they need to cut the cables. Under the back seat or at least in the trunk would be a way better spot. I know side post is calmly GM but for some reason I thought the Chrysler Sebring use them for clearance reasons.
Well crap! I figured as much. I have the 200. Newly single female ready to tackle it and get this shit done! Now I've Seen it all.. this shall be interesting😂
what a fubared pile of weirdness .. this things engineer should be kicked in the nuts! i guess it's better so when you have a front on collision the battery is behind the bumper and won't spray acid up in the air but damn.. at what point can you not recharge a battery?
I'll bet the Engineers were laughing their asses off thinking about all of us who are going to have to do this. I live in a Condo without a garage and not supposed to work on my car here , via HOA. rules. Looks like if have all the right tools ,sockets, new plastic fasteners & battery ready to go it won't take all that long. No telling what a shop would charge to do this, with a lift would be much easier.
Great work but chrysler should have designed that model better 😔 it's a hassle fixing that car plus they did better keeping the battery 🔋 in the trunk 😂
You have to 1.) unscrew and take the tire off completely. 2.) unscrew and remove a panel just to access the battery. 3.) unscrew the safety bars from the batteries carriage to finally be able to remove the battery. ...just to replace the battery. This is so damn ridiculous and I will never EVER own one of these cars just off principle. Hell, I’m telling my friends about this just so they can avoid this nonsense lol
Gawd I hate this car just because of the battery location and the flimsy plastic cover just results in stripped plastic thread and missing tabs that someone didn't replace.Who wants to fight that mess to pull it out to recharge on a battery charger if it happens to go dead? saying it to prevent batteries getting stolen is lame because I can pull out a battery or place a chain with padlock like my Dad did.
The engineer that designed this car needs a slap
T Ting Chrysler engineers a cyst on the genitals of humanity

They are all in this together people.. the engineering, dealership mechanics eliminateing neighborhood mechanics for their own profits.
Big facts
This guy keeps it simple and to the point. And he is not long winded talking about non essential things.
Thanks for the help. I got a 2007 Sebring for free. Still feel like I got ripped off.
Gold, haha.
🤣🤣
Still driving it? how is it? My dad just got me a 2008 Sebring
@@fauxset I gave it to my nephew. He's still driving it.
@@fauxset I have a 2007 and I’ve taken it one many trips w/o problem
I’ll be changing my battery this afternoon and appreciate the tutorial. So bizarre of them to put it there. 🤦🏻♂️
I guess Pontiac put them in the trunk...all that wire.
They used to put them in the trunk. I think they did this to get customers to bring it in to the Dodge dealership

Thnx dude ! After about 8 long hrs going through different tools , I finally fixed my first car
Thank you for the video (and lighting), I suck as a man in the car repair department. . But your videos may change that. I'm tired of paying mechanics for procedures I can learn myself.
It takes a real man to admit that brother.take it easy
Thanks for the GREAT video. Clear, concise and to the point. I have one of these and soon plan to R&R battery. I knew it would be a pain, but did not expect this much. Again, thanks. Great video.

Great video!! I’m so upset with Chrysler for the placement of the battery
Excellent work, well done! I'm not happy that I have to replace a battery but I'm very appreciative of your instructional video. Thank you!
No problem, hope the project goes well for you.
Thank you for the infornmation, my book for the car says you do not have to take the wheel off, but you showed me how it was not difficult and I thank you very much. Never will I buy another chrysler with the batter there.
That’s a crazy place for a battery !! Good job it’s last 10 years ..... AND good job for me there’s not many of those here in the UK !
The sebrings in Europe came with a diesel VW engine in them. They may have had room for the battery under the bonnet.
Would it be easier to just pull the engine and crush the car?
Yes.
Don't even ask just do. Chrysler engineers are pretty stupid. They thought people were going to bring in their cars. This video said nope!
Thank you for this video, it saved me $200 that the dealer does not deserve! Who ever heard of a battery in the wheel well? Not much room with the 3.5L engine in there. I noticed that you also have bubbles under your paint on the hood. They did not do something right.
I’ve never owned, nor do I intend to own a Chrysler but for some reason I watched this video. 😂
Bad Luck Garage i've been puting this off for like 3 years... Got sick of jump starting it on cold days.
So dodge is a part of the diet right? 😂😂😂
I saw a drop top for 2k so I was looking up videos and after seeing this. Oh hell naw
Thanks for the very clear cut explanation for the process. Appreciate you.
You're a great instructor sir.WELL DONE
Wow next video should be how to fit the Sebring into a trash can when its time to throw it away...
Money Mac Wife bought it before we were married... I've been trying to get rid of it for years, lol.
a21bravo lol I thought it was a customers car ...
Money Mac how to remove window glass regulator
Haven't had any problems with mine? Why have you been "trying to get rid of it"
@@kylestephens2226 me neither. Great car but terrible battery placement.
I just paid the shop an extra $15.00 labor fee and had them change the battery. It wasn't worth the hassle to do myself.
Extremely WELL DONE!
I ave to do this as soon as tomorrow thanks it was extremely helpful.
Awesome! Glad it helped.
Thanks a ton! I was looking at my options thinking maybe take the headlight and fusebox out but then thought... Hope its not the tire, and sure enough!
I take the front bumper off and headlight. Everyone don't have the patience for that way though.
What a nightmare !
I remember years ago working on a car and the battery was under the rear seat! A real treat where some of these are!
The video was very helpful, you inspired me to do it myself.
This was great! I have Sebring 2008 and this helped.
I have the same car and the group size says 26 at 525cca but I was wondering would it be a problem if I put in a 26r 540 CCA?
holy balls, next time i'm paying a shop to do it. worth it

Me too
I just want to know what that music is! Also I have one of those cars!
Also, thanks so much for the video!! Very well explained!
My firend just sold me this car and the way he replace the battery was to remove the metal side panel and move the headlight out of the way and pull it out honestly seems easier lol
Have a question is it the same for a 2007 ?
Yeah
What amperage does your battery carry?
Thank you for this video. 👍🏾
Would it be easier to drive this car off a bridge?
Yes
Can anyone tell me where I can get the pin/ the hold the bumper and panel together called mine broke up
Autozone or oreiley should have them.
This was a big help!

True.and if ricky and bubbles need a score.itd be hard to get at these batteries.lol.THE MID RANGE DIRTY.LOL
Haaahaaaaaa this guys looks like he’s enjoying this hard hard and difficult time consuming battery change. 👍🏻👍🏻🙏
My lugs used to be 3/4, went to buy new 3/4 and the nut is 13/16 on the outside. Damn acorn nuts.

You got it! Easy peasy!
much helpfull good job now its bros turn. thanx,
You need to get milwaukees electric ratchet boyyyyyy
Very clear, step-by-step process. What a poorly designed location for a battery!
I didn't even bother to trouble myself with this battery location. I rewired the battery to my trunk…
what a fubared pile of weirdness .. this things engineer should be kicked in the nuts! i guess it's better so when you have a front on collision the battery is behind the bumper and won't spray acid up in the air but damn.. at what point can you not recharge a battery?
Blaine Ludeman there is jumper connections under the hood
That impact gun lol
AWESOME BEARD!!!!
Came here from a reddit post about tesla model s having a weird battery. Holy shit this is insane all to change a battery or jumpstart it.
You can still charge and jump start as normal. Terminals under hood as normal connected to stupid battery placenment.
Well, I'm a girl who is in chronic pain. I'll try it.
Great! Just fricken wonderful. So that's where it is...smh!!
Pain to install amplifier

Thanks for reminding not too buy a Sebring anything.
Thank you
I wonder if the Crystler engineers were thinkin'... let's really piss'em off and put the battery here- UGH!
Thankyou !
Why in fuck would they think this was a good idea to put a battery in this location?
You have to
1.) unscrew and take the tire off completely.
I absolutely hate this design. This and the newer Chevy batteries are pure hell.
Another good reason to never buy Dodge/Chrysler.
This is terrible is there anyone that has invented away to relocate the battery?
Battery relocation is pretty common in the aftermarket world.
Foist
This makes me irrationally angry.
This is so stupid lol
This and the 300M. Such a stupid design
Worst car ever
