  • Lightweight, strong, performance wheels made for racing... High-performance summer-only tires, sticky and wide, made to put all that horsepower and torque to the pavement! I reveal my NEW performance wheel and tire combination consisting of 18" Weds WedsSport SA-25R lightweight wheels, and sticky 265 / 40 / 18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S track tires! I take you through the process I follow, which helped me in selecting my next set of aftermarket wheels and high-performance summer only tires for our 10th Gen Honda Accord project car! What are some of the things you should consider before purchasing your next set of summer tires and forged wheels? Tire type (i.e. winter tires, all-season tires, high performance summer only tires), tire size (where you can find your current tire size, or your OEM tire size), where to buy tires (Tire Rack, Discount Tire Direct, Priority Tire), and tire features / characteristics to consider that will help guide you in selecting the best tires for YOU! Tire tread wear / tread life, tire ride quality, tire noise, tire performance, tire cost, tire wet / dry traction, etc. Consider a wheel casting method, which is related to an aftermarket rim weight and wheel strength when purchasing your next set of aftermarket wheels, whether they're Volks, Rays, Gram Lights, Enkei, SSR, BBS, etc. We've now upgraded our 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring, preparing it to take on 0-60mph testing, 1/4 mile track runs, and autocross (???)!

Awesome looking wheels Chad. I'm in a similar boat with you on the weight savings. I got the titan7 TS5 18X9.5 +40 these wheels are 18 ~ 19 lbs, I also forgot to account for the weight of the tires. The stock 19s & 235/40 Michelin primacy weight 60lbs. The titan 7 and the 265/35 Federal RS pro weigh at ~56lbs. I went with these as At the time these where the only size available at a reasonable price in my area all others where out of stock or brands I've not heard of. Love the grip on these on the street I can go faster around the turns and what not. I'll be giving them a try on AutoX. On thing I don't like about the tires is the noise. These is a noticeable hum at 30mph and above, sounds like a bad wheel bearing. Anyway Thank Chad, can't wait to see what you get for your 0-60 and at the 1/4 mile. Also if at all possible test the 60-0 on your tires also on your stock setup (I'm assuming you still have them) as these brake test could show how much potential grip these tires have.

Hey Chad. If you could have gotten a stock size 19 inch wheel that weighed 20 pounds, would you have stayed with a 19? Or is there other reasons besides weight, to go down to a 18" wheel? Perhaps more side wall rubber for protection against pot holes etc? I'm thinking of going 265/35/19 as I found a 19" wheel that weighs 20 pounds each. But where I'm from we have crap roads so I've been debating going 18s. There not much difference in weight between the 19 and 18 set up. What is your opinion of this? Thanks

@@TheLemonFactor tires are great for a summer tire, and if you can justify the cost/mileage of a 200tw . Feel more confident in corners, and you mentioned stopping. Well I had to slam on my brakes and no skidding and deff noticed better stopping power. Will say they are a bit noisy at highway speeds. I'd recommend 👍🏼

It’s tough to get a good summer only tire that also rides well, AND isn’t too noisy 👍

Rims are the metal part, tires are, well, tires, and wheels are the tires mounted to the rims 👍😁

To many, the rim is the outer edge of the wheel. And tires are tires. I know many car guys cringe when wheels are called rims 😂 I could care less what people call them lol
