OK I have the solution my Astros weren’t connecting to party chat and for everyone who’s trying to figure out how to fix it I got you. When you open the box 1st thing you do.. Go to the Astro website scroll all the way down and click software then go down till you see Astro command center then click download it asks for PC or Mac are used Mac but I heard it doesn’t matter which you choose, Then once it downloads Click the link and It will ask you To plug in your device so plug in the micro USB into your mixamp the other end of the USB into your computer And mine made me put it on PC and to do so you just flip the switch on top of the mixamp, What is complete it’ll pop up the volume controls to which you can adjust I kept mine preset once you adjust them or leave it the way it is On top it should say click firmware to update you click that and once it’s done you unplug it. Next step hook up the Optical cable to the console and the Mixamp, The USB to the console The wire for your headset now there’s two wins the longer end with four black lines needs to go into the headset the one with three goes into the mixamp. When you turn on your Xbox Go to Xbox accessories and what you want to do is update the firmware it should pop up because it senses the new mixamp, Once you update it should link your controller to the headset, now last step And this is the one that took me forever to figure out Click the Button to power the Xbox (on the actual console) And hold it down for 10 seconds this reboot the Xbox then before turning it back on unplug the power to the Xbox then plug it back in turn on the Xbox and everything should work just fine. Also for anyone wondering yes, it dose seem to be “shockproof” although testing it as he did and carrying on like it never happened is not recommended lol
If I add an equaliser preset to the mixamp using the astro command centre how I do know the mixamp is running this eq when I'm in game? What should the bottom button/light for scrolling through the original 4 presets show? Thanks
I know you went through the set up but it’s a shame we didn’t get to see how it all looks after it’s plugged in, I’m wondering if it’s really messy cable wise, as my headset at the moment just plugs into my controller job done, does this mean the headset is powered by the Xbox so it won’t be draining off the controller battery, does the cable fell heavy being long like that. Wonder if the a50 are the better option so there isn’t loads of wires wverywhere

How do I use the Astro a40without mix amp to play on my Xbox while streaming through obs to Facebook live. Every time I connect my controller to my pc to start streaming I can hear my buddies but can’t talk through the stream
What you’d want to do is acquire a cheap usb or Studio mic in addition to you headset. This is ideal so you can talk to your stream without needling to go out of your way with audio splitters etc and it would make the stream sound and feel better too. Blue yeti is a nice option and relatively cheap. I use a Shure SM7B with a berhinger mixamp but that’s a bit more pricey than a yeti (yeti is $100 ish whilst shure is $500)
@@ImWoki yeah I realized. I returned the product tho the audio quality was really bad compared to my Corsair HS70 Pro. I tried every EQ setting possible looked 100 tutorials and the audio was still terrible. You’d expect something really nice from that price point but it’s definitely not worth it.

However it still did a decent job until then. I got a refund AFTER 2 years! And purchased the Pro version which is worse than the normal version. If you’re on budget I would get the Corsair HS70 (wireless). If you have some money to spend you could get the Corsair Virtuoso Wireless.

ChrisTheGreat 01 i bought the arctis pro with the dac...while they sound great and are comfortable....the ear cup attachment is extremely weak and prone to failure which ultimately led to me taking them back for the a40s...a40s are better hate too say it...bigger soundstage, more comfortable, more durable, and no PROPRIETARY cable!!

I am assuming you are talking about the Mixamp? You do need to make sure that the mixamp firmware is up to date using a computer, it sounds weird but if you are playing on a console you may also need to update your gaming controller as well(i didnt know that was a thing before), once your firm ware is up to date, if you are playing on xbox, you need to unplug the mixamp, switch it from PC to XBOX on the back, plug in the power cable from the xbox along with the optical audio cable and plug the headset into the mixamp. there may be a one time step where you need to go into the mic settings on your console in order for it to be recognized as your mic the first time. i hope i helped you a bit

If you haven’t tired hard resting your Xbox after updating firmware and making sure all cords are connected right do that. That was my absolute last thing I hadn’t tried. Was about to get a refund

Honestly man what’s been working for me is just taking the USB out of the mix amp and that will shut it off and then just plug it back in that usually works for me
Don't keep bending the mic piece over and over it will wear down and eventually break the wire inside took a year for astro website to get them back into stock. It happened to me.
Download the Astro command centre app and you can edit the 4 presets to your liking From memory the Default EQ Presets are ASTRO BALANCED NATURAL BASS TOURNAMENT in my opinion the best audio settings for the A40 TR is on the Tournament EQ Preset as it’s quite loud but the audio also remains clear, I also slightly adjusted the preset to give it some bass and on the Dolby Digital app enable Movie mode with the warm preset Good luck !!!

Try hard resetting your xbox then turn it back on. It just worked for me hope this helps
You need to do a firmware update that fixes the problem through the astro command center on your computer

The presets don't do anything. You've got to set it up in the Dolby App.

What I did last I bought a compressed gas cleaner and put some in the entrances from the Xbox and then it worked. Hope this helps 🤷🏻♀️
