    One of the rare reviewers who actually doesn't push the Mixamp and say it's trash without it. I personally agree that Mixamp isn't necessary, most everything you can do with it is actually built into the headset itself, like noise cancellation on the mic and 3D audio. I've also heard the difference with and without the Mixamp and it sounds practically the same. I agree, jump into it for just the headset, it's worth it👍

      You’re 100% sure the audio is just fine without the mix? I’m really looking into buying it cause I have TB600 that are broken but I’m not willing to buy it with the mix amp for 200 that’s ridiculous

    Tried out the A40s, and it was a solid package, but what really disappointed me (maybe a bad unit?), was the amount of noise from the mixamp. This wasn't audible in game, but it still was pretty bad. I'll probably revisit them at some point as it is a convenient package for the average consumer! Also, Chrono is an excellent player 👌🏻

    So many people complain about Astros, but I view the hate like I view the hate for Beats. They may have been better in the past, but some people don’t mind paying extra for the brand reputation, comfort, and customer service. Also the sound quality is still really good for casual gamers that want a quality product that won’t break in the first year. Not everyone is a sweat that needs the best frequency’s 😂

    Please do yourself a favor and get the Amp. It's definitely worth it. Specially if you set up your presets on astro command and you even get the game/chat balance. I've done test the A50s and A40s with the Amp on my series x. I had to return the A50s! Definitely not worth the money. I had charging issues and tbh my a40s were louder. I bought both 6months ago and so far my a40s are definitely worth every penny!

  • @nxy6123
    @nxy6123 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So I might be the only one but, the A50s sampling rate (so the 48khz/16bit) were just too low for me (hard to explain, but if you have many low freq sounds and a high voice, so in some songs, the volume changed and the sound is, well bad, hard to explain). Needless to say I will return it, buy a A40 with no mixamp (because it has no higher sampling rates and bit depths either and I dont use any of its features) and will connect it directly to my mainboard.
    I just dont get why they make a dac with that low sound "resolution"... I still prefer my Kz zsn pro x with the 192khz/32bit on my mainboard with not perfect frequency responses over the A50 with 48khz/16bit with perfect frequency responses (due to autoeq presets).
    Also yeah for the a50 i can understand the low sampling rates, because of latency and stuff, it would just be too much data to run through the air...
    But for the Mixamp pro tr, im disappointed... Like they make really great headphones but a dac that sends low quality sound to high quality drivers... Sure you need sound files/effects whatever in that quality in the first place but even a simple game like osu just sounds like crap with 48khz sampling rate because the songs get distorted by the hitsounds. I even experienced that in some fps games.
    And especially music by themself. High and low frequencys combined are just evil when it comes to bandwith usage.
    So if some of you have the same "issues" as me that might be a fix, if your mainboard has a good sound processor build in.
    But if you like your headset as it is or need the mixamp, just go for it and use it. Its just not the right thing for me...

    bro what? my a40 tr without the mixamp sounds worse than my a20. Had the a20 for about 2 to 3 years (2018-2021) before they had wireless connection issues so I snapped them in half with my bare hands and threw them in the trash because I died in a game due to them failing lol. Went out and bought the a40 tr without the mixamp but I will be returning them tomorrow. Will try a40 with the mixamp and maybe even the a50. If still not satisfied I will have to finally move on from astros after over 10 years using them. I had a40 gen 1 with mixamp back in halo 2/3 days.

      just a quick update for anyone in the same boat. returned the normal a40 and bought the a40 with the mixamp. night and day difference, mix amp is 100% needed. I bet even the A20 will sound good with the mixamp. the a40 and mixamp combo is so good I am not even going to try the a50. I dont believe the a50 internal mixamp will preform as good as the a40 external mixamp pro. I don't mind the cable of the a40, its light and flexible. only get the a50 if you absolutely need wireless.
