I am trained in martial arts and I just wanted to say that this guy knows his stuff because it’s the same techniques I was taught by my instructor and as a person who suffers from back problems caused from car accidents I know this stuff works.
Surgeons wanted to do knee replacements on my 89 year old mother. Against my older sister's wishes, I took mom to a chiropractor who made some adjustments to her spine using a kinetic device. These adjustments corrected a problem with her "gait" which fixed the pain in her knees. She had no more problems with her knees.
She was likely experiencing referred pain from her lumbar spine. The spine is like a fuse box, the pain can present away from where the cause is. You don’t have to have pain in the back for the problem to be originating from there. That’s why it’s important to not just rely on diagnostic studies like X-rays to make a diagnosis, but a thorough history and physical exam. It’s also a reason why post-op patients get hooked on pain medication. When you sit or lay down you place 4x your body weight on your lumbar spine. When you are awake or sleeping you make unconscious moves to displace the pressure. When you are under the control of an anesthesiologist for 2 hours you can’t move. At the same time the surgeon is stretching the compressed nerve. When the patient awakes in uncontrollable pain unresponsive to narcotics (which don’t work on nerve pain) they and the doctor think it’s the knee and he keeps plying them with narcotics when a lumbar support brace, a run of an IV steroid and a neuroleptic will cut the knee/leg pain, (referred pain) in half within 30min.

Great treatment. I had the same problem behind my right shoulder blade that was causing a shooting pain down my right arm for nearly six weeks. Couldn't sleep. Couldn't work. I could have used the deep scapula message at the time, but chiropractors didn't want to touch it too much for fear it was a bulged disc causing the pain. I ultimately had to work through it and it finally healed. Thank God.
I loved going for adjustments as a 20 something after a wreck. I had degenerative disk disease too plus a f'd neck. It always felt wonderful. The neck thing was a little worrisome. I was never harmed at all and after the cracking it was as if my neck bones had been oiled. My neck turned with no pain and no cracking sounds. But after I read a lot of chance of stroke...more than paralysis..due to artery damage..I stopped them. My neck has never been as nice but I am alive and walking . Its just something I will not do again. But honestly all the work I got done helped a LOT. So when someone says Chiropractors are not real doctors dont listen.

Chiropractic is popular in the United States because we don't have single payer healthcare and so actual medically trained help is bankruptcy-level expensive. These chiropractic cranks don't charge very much for their placebo adjustments and when you're hurting, you'll take whatever you can get.

I agree. Had two doctors tell me all i could do about my bad back and scoliosis was rest. 6 years of pain, until my sister convinced me to see a chiropractor. I thank all of you for your replies. They reflect courtesy and their right to an opinion. I have been seen by osteopath's (Doctor of Osteopath) as well as physical therapists for back pain...and have seen minor pain relief. I feel the best chiropractors combine "soft tissue work" with the cracking adjustment. Sometimes one's problem (issue) is beyond the chiropractor's ability to "make it better". My wife regularly sees a D.O. (Osteopath) and he causes her more pain...but he prescribes pain meds, which is the only reason she goes back to him. My first ever visit to a chiropractor was for an unrelenting pain over several weeks ("rib head out of place") and the chiropractor put it back in place in one visit! It felt like a miracle. Instant relief! I was a "believer" from that point forward! When you ever get yourself in big trouble...you may become a believer like ME! Best wishes to all.

Speaking as someone who does trigger point work daily, you are going to murder your hands if you keep hyperextending your thumbs like that... speaking from experience. Much better off if you keep the knuckles bent and use muscle strength to maintain pressure rather than putting pressure on your joints at end range.

When the individuals who made negative comments below...find themselves in serious back pain likely in their early 20's...they will sing a different (more appreciative) tune about the value of chiropractors. Quality of life is a treasure.

I agree. Had two doctors tell me all i could do about my bad back and scoliosis was rest. 6 years of pain, until my sister convinced me to see a chiropractor. I could barely walk into the clinic but after they were done i could have jumped to the moon i felt so good!!! Occasional revisits keep me straight and pain free

I thank all of you for your replies. They reflect courtesy and their right to an opinion. I have been seen by osteopath's (Doctor of Osteopath) as well as physical therapists for back pain...and have seen minor pain relief. I feel the best chiropractors combine "soft tissue work" with the cracking adjustment. Sometimes one's problem (issue) is beyond the chiropractor's ability to "make it better". My wife regularly sees a D.O. (Osteopath) and he causes her more pain...but he prescribes pain meds, which is the only reason she goes back to him. My first ever visit to a chiropractor was for an unrelenting pain over several weeks ("rib head out of place") and the chiropractor put it back in place in one visit! It felt like a miracle. Instant relief! I was a "believer" from that point forward! When you ever get yourself in big trouble...you may become a believer like ME! Best wishes to all.

Speaking as someone who does trigger point work daily, you are going to murder your hands if you keep hyperextending your thumbs like that... speaking from experience. Much better off if you keep the knuckles bent and use muscle strength to maintain pressure rather than putting pressure on your joints at end range.

I tried this on my cat and was it able to move a lot better. So natural I tried this on my girlfriend and sister. The next day I did not see them but was visited by a medium who told that my sister and girlfriend wanted them to pass on a message that there where happy in heaven but were pissed at me because there arrival decades too soon.
