Ford E150 Upper & Lower Ball Joint Remove and Replace with Ball Joint Press Tool Required 2000 Van

Here is the change out of both ball joints on this van along with the ball joint press and adapters required to do this job.Tool was rented from Autozone and since its a rented tool and if you never rented one before you will not know what is supposed to come with the kit and because of that you can run into problems and the 1st tool was damaged and bent. the 2nd tool rented from another store was more complete as I will show you in this video..Its an annoying heavy job and the years of rust didn't help. For anyone else reading this and going to do this themselves, you’ll definitely want a high power impact driver to turn the ball joint removal tool like he has in the video. I tried with a long ratchet and breaker bar and it was almost impossible.
Also remember to take the boot off if you can before you press the new ball joint. They can get messed up when you press them in.

Thank you for this video. Everyone else made it seem really overwhelming, but it’s not as bad as it seems. I’m about to do a whole brake job including a caliper, and the ball joints are way gone so I should replace them since I’m right there anyways.

You Are The Man Brother, you explained how to use that tool the best. Now i sure i read the instructions like 10 times and i dnt remember ever reading the instructions i describing in details in how' you used the adapters to press the ball joint tall the way through completely. Thank You
Sometime be stressed out and having to do thing your self makes the simple thing quite difficult my truck has been sitting on jack stands with the ball joint removed but couldnt get them properly installed snugged and very to no videos on explaining how its done on ball joint with LOADer ball joint aND follwer ball

That thing that you said was a retainer on the top ball joint is called a camber bushing

That thing that you didn't know what it was . . . it's an insert to adjust alignment. They make different ones to make adjustments to camber and caster.
