    Very helpful. Loved the “floating” nut size and “hit here” text.

    Well I did one side this afternoon you helped a lot tell everyone to not buy the ball joint kit from harbor freight I had to make a 1"x2" ring to get kit to work im doing driver side in morning again thanks!

    Thank you for an excellent video . As a plumber, we use nothing but Milwaukee tools. The larger batteries are definitely worth the investment, twice the power and last four times longer on a charge.

      Its heavy AF doing it that way. But its doable and you dont have to get all greasy from bearing grease.

    Best video on this repair compared to others. Your adapters seem to be the key to flawless removal and install because other videos showed guys with air impact guns barely getting the joint squeezed in/out with several attempts....I was like "no way" when I saw the M-18 driver on there....very nice video and thank you for an excellent tutorial..my inside edges of front tires keep wearing tires,out and tire shop said my BJ's were OK....I lifted and checked myself and found major play in lowers....gonna do,it myself with the OTC 4wd BJ clamp kit and hope it goes smooth as yours...I've been spraying everything with PB blaster every day for a week in hopes of easy install....trick I learned working on 4WD Jeeps.
    What brand joints did you use in this video?...they appear pretty high dollar.I ordered Moog joints as I've had good luck with Moog parts.

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Autumn Winter I believe the joints are moog.. I don't remember.. But sometimes the job goes as smooth as shown sometimes it does not.. But the SO ball joint kit helps a lot.. The OTC kit is good too but you will need 3 hands and the patience of a Saint... Lol.. Good luck and thanks for the kind words.. Be sure to subscribe.

      Yes those OTC weigh a lot. I need to get a friend just to hold that sucker in place. As it wears my arms out have to try it alone.

      I have been hearing a lot of good about napas new line of balljoints they are a bit pricey compared to moog but they are pretty nice and they even come with a adapter for installing just incase your balljoint doesnt have the exact cup for the balljoint i think is pretty helpful altho when you have the bjp1 set plus bunch of exhaust pieces at your disposal then you can make anything work lol

    You installed your upper ball joint the opposite direction from other videos and installation manuals. Is there a reason you installed it not from the direction you pushed when you removed it?

    Good vid, that stud in the middle of the BJ is a wear indicator i believe. Not sure if when it wears it protrudes or goes flush.

    Good vid. Have you used the air hammer attachments for ball joint removal? They really speed up these jobs by not having set up the press for removal each time. Of course, the Snappy unit is better than OTC by not needing 4 hands to hold the cups in place.

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not used the air hammer attachment. But sometimes the air hammer just doesn't have the muscles needed to get those stubborn joints out on bigger vehicle.

    • @chucknix1129
      @chucknix1129 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Auto Fix Pal I agree. Depends a lot on the gun. However, when they work the, they are a blessing.

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chuck Nix absolutely! i usually try the air hammer first for removal. Toyota has the right idea though. Most Toyotas the BJ's are bolted in. Gotta love that.

    Shit. I didn't think a cordless hammer drill would drive them out. I seen people beat on them while using a compressor and 1/2" drive impact. I might have to try that next time...

      Carlos Pac it's a pretty intense job.. If you have not done anything like this before don't do it without help from someone experienced. It's easy to get yourself into a corner with this job.

    I did everything like you but now when I drive my van is making noise .like its scratches on something, what could be??

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      rotor backing plates. Did you put them on backwards or are they rubbing on the rotors?

    • @ebutariq99
      @ebutariq99 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Autofixpals thanks for replying so quick. I removed weel and found out that rotor is hard to turn and on the bottom of the brake caliper some metal is scratching, which is not big of a deal. I wanted to remove brake caliper and push back brake piston .But on my van there is no bolts its something else so I can't unscrew it. Is that causing my problem?

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ebutariq99 There should be nothing touching the rotor besides the brake pads. Anything else is likely your problem. The rotor should be easy to spin.

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      compare it to the side with no issues.

    • @ebutariq99
      @ebutariq99 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Autofixpals Sorry for replying so late but I needed van to get to work so I was so busy. It was caliper piston that caused rotor not to spin freely so I pushed it back and that's it. Definitely subscribing to your channel. Great video and explanation 👍

    Yeah and never in my life have I seen a small hammer drill take a fucking ball joint out no way in hell it'd been taken off before or it's not the same spindle they never come out that easy I just got done doing what on the same damn van and used a half inch gun and it wouldn't take it out I had to beat it out

  • @winstonmonroe1071
    @winstonmonroe1071 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You did give the part numbers to the upper ball joint or the lower ball joint some people are looking for part numbers and brands because there's a problem with ball joints with Moog AC Delco motorcraft they all kind of say they fit the vehicle and then you try to put them in and it doesn't work you individuals that make these videos always leave detailed shit out if somebody might need it's always a half ass video and you're not the only one
