So difficult compared to a 60 series Detroit or any other pre tier 4 engine. I still cant figure out what is better about this location on the bell housing opposed to the accessory drive. Thanks I enjoyed watching. This one sucks to change worse than the Sterlings with a Mercedes engine. I love how the engineers turned an hour, hour and a half compressor change Into a days labor rate earnings.
look we redesigned the air compressor so you dont need that special curved wrench to remove/install it. but we jammed it under the cab, behind the p/s pump, with the frame right in the way. hope you dont mind. 😒
I've found that hooking those 2 coolant lines up is easier if you pull the fuel lines from the fuel filter housing. Only drips a little fuel but gives you more room.
Question if you already disconnected the discharge line from the compressor why did you need to disconnect from the other side ? Where you used two wrenches, Hope you can help thanks
Hey bro thank you for the video!!! Question.. is replacing all those compressor seals fix the oil inside the lines and under the air dryer?? Thank you for your time bro.
En lamańana mi troke esta travajoso pa prender esta perdiendo presion en el fuel riel me podrias desir como se camvia la valvula de presion del riel. En un lado esta el sensor y en elotro la valvula y acuanto va apretada grasias
I have a P&H omega 18 crane with the Detroit Deisel 353 engine. The air compressor won’t build past 30 pounds. The compressor is a Bendix tu flo 500 which was just purchased rebuilt. I also put a new governor on it and still nothing. I hooked a pressure gauge straight to the discharge line and only got 30 PSI. I’m new to this so any help would be appreciated. Also I don’t think it has an alcohol evaporator or an air dryer. Thanks in advance.
Hello I'm in need of help... I'm seeking a compressor for a Mack midliner with a Renault engine... The compressor is a knorr bremse 75mm belt driven one but I can't get it anywhere ... Been looking everywhere for 3 years ... Can any other truck compressor be used ... Is there any other brand that is single piston and belt driven
Thanks good video. I’m going to have to do this eventually the compressor is making a lot of noise when pumping over 110 psi. It will die someday and it’s going to be a long project. Now I know and I won’t be guessing what to do.
This looks similar to the Mercedes location. I need to replace the o-rings and the gasket think you I'll have to remove just as much stuff? Leaking engine oil
i have the same problem, few of my bolts came out loose. i installed new bolts but is leaking a little oil which im guessing it could be from a bad o'ring
I live in Maine. I have a 2016 Cascadia and I was just told my air compressor is going bad. My truck has 596,000 miles. They quoted me $2600 and was wondering if that’s a fair price? Your videos are very helpful.
Gracias amigo
@Mister Barak it’s in that spot because on the DD13 with the short hood there isn’t space for it in the front. Instead of having different designs they used the same parts on the DD15 so that’s why it’s stupid like this.
Great video, have a question Do you bleed the power steering system afterwards or does air not go into the system and you'll still have to drain the coolant
European garbage! The REAL Detroit as we knew as a legend over here in North America died with the Series 60. Now it's all rebranded Mercedes junk. Ridiculously hard to work on & parts are outrageous! Save your old FLD120s, W900s & 359/379s as long as you can. You couldn't pay me enough to own one. The engineering reason for using rear drive is more accurate cam timing, it reduces deflection the camshaft sees due to torsional twist while running. Seriously? They think these are race car engines turning 9000 rpm? May see 2600 rpm at most. Galactically stupid! Good video & thanks. I'll be doing one on a DD8 M2-106 soon. Not looking forward to it.

You are good and saved yourself time and $
How long did it actually take you guys to do that also where did you buy the swivel sockets and the magnetic sickets from
The new 1/4 air line you replaced, does it go directly to the air dryer?
Great video thank you. I am getting high pressure in my coolant resivour. Can I put new orings. On the compressor
Can you tell me what is that hose for that you replaced with the clips! Rubber hose on top of compressor?
What was the issues you were having that required the compressor to need to be replaced? How many miles are on the truck?
i do my own work but this is one of the few times ill take it to a shop and save myself the headache

I called freightliner , but they won't give you the part number. I do appreciate you responding back to me

Thanks bro very helpful video!!!
Thanks for watching sir 🙏
How did it take
Now we gotta torque it down or give 2 ugga duggas ahaha
Great video, but Francisco amaya has a video like this, he says you have to put the engine in top dead center, is this true?
hello, thers no timing on the air compressor that i know, on the fuel pump there is a timing
Wy are you removing it the oil leak??
Francisco was talking about the timing on the fuel pump.
3:17 that small airline is weird
I’m curious what kind of fitting is on there?
13:10 is a 1/4 line goes to the governor
This looks similar to the Mercedes location. I need to replace the o-rings and the gasket think you I'll have to remove just as much stuff? Leaking engine oil

I need a how to on the power steering and air compressor for a maxxforce 13 from a 2013 international prostar

Sounds like you need a new air dryer filter
Excellent video..Thy.big help
thanks for watching sir!!
What year is this truck and the compressor P/A #

We in the same boat but I’m buying my part from freight liner much cheaper & get a shop to install come out better!!!
Part is $600-$1200 & labor should be $150-$200 a hr, @6-8hrs job
800 dlls pump at freightliner in tx and 800 dlls labor aint too bad.
I live in maine with the same truck. What are the odds?
How much labor for take off air compresor
its quite some work it took us like 6 hours
How long did it take to take the air pump out and put it back in
It took us long prob like 7 or 8 hours
Good video thank you
Is the governor on top of the compressor. Is it replaceable?
Governor is mounted on the air dryer on the 2015 Cascadia. There is nothing on top of the air compressor.
thanks anh nhiều lắm anh ơi
thank you sir

My compressor is making a lot of water, is the compressor or the air dryer???
Air dryer
Could be the head on the compressor.

Great video, thanks a lot

What is the part number of the air inlet hose?
What size crow foot
Excellent video! Do you know how many hours this job takes? It seems like a lot of work
Hello, it took us like 5 to 8 hours to do the job, thanks for watching!!
@Mister Barak it’s in that spot because on the DD13 with the short hood there isn’t space for it in the front. Instead of having different designs they used the same parts on the DD15 so that’s why it’s stupid like this.
