    You really earn your name, B K G, on these hoses especially those hard plastic def coolant lines. I saw the soft line off the compressor full of carbon before. It had a pencil eraser size hole in middle causing slow air build if I remember right. You got a neat way of explaining your work.

    great video. with your experience how often should my air dryer purge?. at idle with the cruise control on my airdryer is purging every 5 minutes. even when i go down the road without using my brakes it's still purges every 5 minutes. im pretty sure that is not normal.

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and reaching out. This would be a tough one. Wabco the air drier manufacturer would say it’s normal. But, I would say if your cruising along it shouldn’t purge unless ur losing air from somewhere. You have an air leak, slow enough to cause a long delay between purges. Best thing to do is use soapy water and find all your leaks.

      Thanks for reaching out. If you just replaced your air comp and it’s leaking both air and oil your best bet is to pull it back off and check your seals. One is probably not seated right. As for air leak it usually the small signal line. Just get some soapy water and find the source.

    Hey bro sorry to bother you gain I have a question that Ive been loosing sleep over. Hopefully you can get to my question.. Ok quick explanation. I just replaced the new air compressor on my 2012 cascade dd15, everything went smooth for about a week after, but one morning my "new" compressor just wouldn't build pressure past 50-55 psi. Finally after 20-25 minutes of reving the engine I finally got to build pressure. I push both parking knobs(red and yellow)and I let the air stabilize before taking off, well now the freakin compressor won't build air or maintain air to get me going. I already replaced air compressor(aftermarket but new) changed the air governor, changed the check valves on tanks, and still having the same problem. I honestly don't know what to do at this point. I compared the compressor air pressure with my brothers dd15 and they both feel identical to me. I hope im being clear enough so that you can kinda point me in a direction. BTW, I don't hear any extremely noticeable air leaks. PLEASE HELP!!!! God bless bro!!

      I had a grill to rear end rebuild last year at detroit. I wanted the warranty as im old now and hope this is my last one. I'm on my 3rd bendix compressor under warranty. First 2 putting out oil like a big dog. Number 3 was good for 7 months. Slow building secondary air. Then no secondary air at all. I put a dryer on. Then governor cuts compressor out,purge valve leaks till compressor cuts in again. Long story,loaders bad in 7 month old compressor. New parts are crap. Oem or aftermarket.

      Thanks for reaching out. For issues with air pressure build up I’d go right to the wet tank. The check valve in there often gets plugged up and causes this very issue. Air compressor won’t help this concern but don’t for get to do regular air drier cartridge maintenance.

    I really appreciate your your videos bro. Question. If I start having oil in the dryer, and on that discharge line? Does that mean it’s time for a new compressor? Or is it a matter of chafing gaskets etc etc?? Thanx again chief!!!

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for reaching out. If you have oil coming out the air drier than Deff it’s time for a air compressor replacement. If it’s just moisture coming out and your discharge line looks oily than it’s still good. Although I’d replace your drier cartridge if it hasent been done in a year. Fills up fast. And the line will look that way as it’s super heated air that cools off the carbon build up inside sweats and cools through the hose to mimick oil. Hope that helps clear some things up.

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228

      Thanks for watching and reaching out. Today is your lucky day. Knowledge that is completely free. Like a cereal box with a toy inside. With air pressure gauges going to high past 125 psi. I would recommend replacing the part that controls the cut out pressure. Which is a air governor located on your air drier. Unless your truck is very old pre 2014 than it’ll be on d/s of eng block by the engine ecm. There’s a lot of tests you can do but 99% of the time it leads to air governor replacement. Good luck and give it a try yourself. You’ll save so much $$ than taking it in anywhere. Stay safe out there.

      Thanks for watching and reaching out. Can’t do without you guys. As for that air compressor discharge line it is super heated air coming from the compressor cooling off and sweating the carbon that’s been built up in the line. Giving it the presence of oil leaking. There is only cause for concern when the air dryer is purging out oil then you know your compressor is bad. Hope that helps
