I think you can, 1911 has a better trigger. That said, P220/P226 series is the best DA/SA Euro pistols with CZ-75 & Beretta 92 right behind it. Also dig the IWI Jericho Baby Eagle though it's really just a different looking CZ-75. I'll also say those 3 are the prettiest auto pistols 2nd to 1911
What do you use for basic field strip maintenance? Just something for the barrel a lil light coating or is CLP only ok? I want all mine to last like yours
@@albertr96 I now use Shooter Lube solvent to clean. Used to use Gun Scrub. A light coat of CLP and gun grease on the slide contacts. It looks like it’s dry but it’s not.

Pro tip: don’t think about the reset, just think about moving your finger out in a gross reflex movement, and then coming back up on the wall. That will prevent you from short stroking. I find in my experience that trying to find the reset leads to more short stroking.
Another thing: reset riding also limits your speed. So by ignoring the reset. Letting out very fast, and getting up on the wall is faster than slowly releasing until you reset and then fire. It’s crazy, but trust me your time and accuracy will improve drastically if you focus more on the wall and ignore the reset.

What all professionals teach is with iron sights you should be focused on the front post to keep it lined up. With red dots then it’s both eyes on the target
@@xz_shooting totally not saying it’s not effective but it takes a whole lot more experience. The guy commenting is clearly a beginner and focusing on the sight will create that muscle memory on having the grip with perfect sight alignment you know what I mean?
Hold the gun steady with a firm grip, and learn to ISOLATE the movement of your trigger finger from the rest of your hand or you will "milk" the grip and move it way off target (low and left if you're right handed). Besides that, you have to get past the psychological nervousness of anticipating the recoil. There is no anticipation, no pushing back against it, just a firm grip or stance and letting it happen.

I have the 229 nitron compact bought it in 2008 its got about 10k rounds through it .. never misfired once and accurate

I have had four diff 1911s. One P220. The 1911s are all gone i still have the Sig!!! Its a safer design and far better right out if the box.
