Sooo glad they did this. I remember asking two years ago in the comments why this kind of setup wasn't possible and people replied that UE was a gaming engine not something for film production. But here we finally are. Thanks for sharing!

MediaPlate default Material comes with (parent) Surface/ Masked/ Unlit and is connected to RGB----> emissive node and Alpha---> Opacity Mask. So media becomes burned or over exposed. To fix that, change shading model material from Unlit to Default lit and connect RGB to base color (not emissive). And media will be perfectly exposed. Use plugin Color Correction region to place a a box or sphere area around your media to correct luma, chroma, tint, white balance, etc!

I'd much rather render out the unreal footage and composite within Fusion or After Effects. It's nice that Unreal has a rudimentary composite feature, but it lacks the tools needed to get a professional green screen composite. For example, does it even have a basic light-wrap function help place the chroma-keyed actor in the scene? How about a shadow tool for the chroma to cast a show on the scene?

@@Jsfilmz Look forward to all your videos - you're basically the reason I'm adopting Unreal into my filmmaking.
In any case, I can actually see a REALLY good use for this though - As a placeholder to ensure your camera in unreal is correct, etc, before going through the process of rendering it out.
Could also help ensure matched lighting with unreal engine.

If you can please show how you would go about getting this footage composited into After Effects? For example color grading, lighting, shadows, basically everything to make the green screened talent blend into the 3D world. Also, how would this work with movements of the subject into the 3d world? Thanks.

I figured it out for anyone else with this issue make sure to "keep simulation changes" or hit K on your actors

I have some bug after rendering an Actor with an alpha channel in UE 5.1. I couldn't find a similar problem and solutions. In all the scenes, I have the same framerate, but in the final video, the actor seems to delaminate into three layers when moving, like an echo. Moreover, everything is fine during the render on the preview, it appears in the final frames on the drive. It looks like the effect as it was in the old days when deinterlacing fields on the frame. Perhaps someone had a similar problem and someone found a solution? Many Thanks! 🙏

I just find solution. It was in motion blur settings - I had 0.6, and after I made 0.5 magic happens! Now it looks super sharp.

Is this process the same for 5.0 or do I need 5.1?
