Let's keep the conversation around buying a hype watch going at WatchCrunch.com: www.watchcrunch.com/EverydayWatchGuy/posts/have-you-every-changed-your-mind-about-owning-a-hype-watch-3756
I bought mine 11 months ago and I'm delighted with it, it's an awesome and beautiful piece and separate mention is the accuracy, really impressive. Thanks for another excellent video and for sharing.
My first Tudor was the new 🐼 chrono. Until I saw the panda, I had never given Tudor a second thought, but the Panda spoke to me. I was quite obsessed until I found a reasonable deal. The watch is fantastic. The domed crystal distortion spectacular. After this purchase, my eyes were opened to this GMT. While not as obsessed with the GMT as I am with the Pelagos, my panda won't be the last Tudor I'll have.
Agree with you. I finally decided to go for the Blackbay GMT over the Blackbay Pro. On paper it looks thick, but different from when used directly. It can still be accommodated by my 6.5 inch wrist size. The weight and dimensions are just right to be my daily driver. If there are still doubts about the dimensions of a wrist watch, it's better to come to an AD and try it yourself first. Thanks also for the preference to put the Uncle Seiko bracelet, I'm looking forward to it. Success for you and this channel.
Had a bunch of Tudors abs always end up trading them but I have to say this is one I put on and think I’ll keep. Perfect size, water resistance, and functionality. Thanks for the video!
I have it, it just pops, its thick but the face is very easy to read, it feels rugged.. I have the gmt 2 and the tudor keeps better time. My gmt 2 bracelet is junk, I hate wearing it. I like the quality of the tudor bracelet and it reminds me of the old bracelets but isn't junk. I like that its a 4k watch that cost 4k.. its hard to tell yourself that a 4k rolex is worth 16k.. its isnt..
I've owned a Black Bay GMT for a year now, serial number Q43xxxx, and no date issues so far. I know a lot of watch enthusiast were furious with Tudor about it, but honestly there is a five-year warranty that covers the problem if it occurs. It is not in Tudor's interest to keep putting out watches that need to come back for repair, so I'm pretty sure that they have fixed whatever was the root cause. I did have an issue with the fit of the bracelet, and that is my wrist (7-1/4 inches) diameter is in between the distance of a link. Remove one link and it was too tight, put that link back in and it was too loose no matter how the micro adjusts in the clasp were set. Uncle Seiko has recently come to the rescue with the production of a half-link that matches Tudor's design and finishing really well. It turned wearing the watch on the bracelet from a frustrating experience into a pleasurable one. I'm a big fan of the Tudor Black Bay GMT and admire it for being 1. Readily available without all the Rolex shenanigans, 2. A true traveler's GMT, and 3. Very well built with excellent finishing and good, handsome looks.
I own two of GMT watch; the TAG HEUER AQUARACER and The YEMA SUPERMAN 500 Batman. Last year I picked up the Tudor Black Bay GMT Pepsi early 2022 and I have to say I like it better than my other GMT watches. I think it will wear better if intergrade the Uncle Seiko Jubilee with the Tudor Clasp. I like how the jubilee bracelet, it wears comfortably specially on a big watch like the Seiko Turtle Diver.
Fun….. when I first tried a Tudor on I thought it was too small! At that time I was wearing omega ploprof, Rolex deep sea, Seiko marine master reissue, zixen divers……. Basically anything 44mm or larger! But, eventually I realized my perfect fit was 41-42mm and I have 3 tudors in my collection. Although, I would prefer that the bracelet is at least 1mm thinner all the way around and if the case slab was slimmer by 1-1.5mm…. basically like the Rolex 41mm sub (which is perfect on my 7.5” wrist). But over all, I love the vintage vibe it has!!!
Glad you picked it up. Agreed on the AD in person experience, that's a game changer. It's become one of my favourite Tudors and I prefer the alu bezel on this model for that matte finish.
I was like you and dismissed the Tudor GMT because I did not care about the GMT complication. I did buy the hyped up BB58 Navy Blue and was lucky to get it from my AD 7 days after it's release in July 2020. I loved that watch at first, but after about 1 year, I realized I bought it because of the hype! I didn't want to miss out and I like the clout I got from being to get it so fast. I ended up selling it in July 2021, and a few months later I bought the Tudor GMT! And I love it. I quickly realized that even though I don't use the GMT function, I love the esthetics, and that 4th red GMT hand really dissapears unless you're specifically looking for it. It's like magic!
Try it on a Forstner bracelet. That’s my preference (today). I also like it on single pass NATOs. And finally the various rubber straps available also make it great.
Hi Thanks for this honest and well thought out review. I bought the Tudor BB Chrono (reverse) Panda last year and to be honest it has blown me away. For me the more sizeable case wears better than a Daytona which almost feels unisex when on my 7.25 inch wrist. I also love the vintage aesthetic and appreciate having a date complication on the watch. I really love the look of the Tudor GMT and have tried one on as well as the Pelagos Blue and LHD variants. Currently trying to decide which should be this years purchase.....
Uncle Seiko bracelets for Tudor are of such quality that they remind me of the vintage Jubilee bracelets that Rolex watches used to have 40 years ago....probably less refined but still very well built.
great video, thanks. I just purchased the GMT in an attempt to move back from a 'collection' to a single watch. In that same process I deemed the (true) GMT function more important than moonphase, chrono (although I kept one), compressor case, world time, pure diver, etc. So for now really utterly happy with the GMT. I guess I was lucky that my wrist really loves the original bracelet though I was investigating a lot of alternatives, including canvas, leather (but waterproof/diver versions) and potentially the US Jubilee. Though I love the jubilee and the looks, I'm not sure should have a steel alternative since I already have the Oyster. Somehow doesn't make sense. But the occasional Jubilee images make me doubt. The Oyster emphasises the tool-character, the jubilee becomes a celebrity style, like the GMT Master II. Time will tell I guess....
Congrats on the GMT, it is a stunner! Wear it in good health! I own the original BB58, black with gilt, which I think could be called a hype watch. It lives up to the hype, as it is perfect in every way.
I have the BB58 Blue. I did purchase the Pepsi and absolutely loved it, but due to my smaller wrists 6.75” and my preference for smaller watches, I sold it. I’ll buy one again IMMEDIATELY when they release a BB58 GMT (should be inevitable I hope)
Just purchased one on Saturday from my AD. Fantastic piece. Also own the BB Chrono and the BB 925. You're gonna love it. As for the bracelet - I purchased mine on the black nato strap, and have the OEM bracelet on order. It's the same bracelet that's on my Chrono, and on my wrist, it's very comfortable and elegant. While I like the Uncleseiko Jubilee, I think the clasp looks cheap, and ruins the look. My opinion, your's may differ!
Yes, the GMT on the US jubilee looks the part. The only downside is the not so pleasant looking clasp. Is there a way to replace it with the Tudor OEM clasp?
Thanks. I don't believe you can fit the OEM Tudor clasp on the US Jubilee bracelet though. That said, I'm fine with the US clasp, even if it's not as machined as well.
The hype watch that i want right now is the Tudor chrono panda but I've been waiting for the call for 8 months already. Hopefully I'll get the call soon.
Great pickup Toran, enjoy the watch thats a beauty and a real looker 🔥 Just joined watchcrunch on yours (and Max's) recommendation...will try to find time to join in some conversations 😊
Good video and you made some great points. I own the gmt myself. I wear in own rubber strap and it is comfortable and light in weight. I did own the Chrono sometime ago but sold it as I found that to be a bit big in terms of comfort.
Great job, Toran! I probably owned a few hype watches in my day, but the most prominent one would be the Submariner. I can definitely see why it is one of the most famous watches in the world. It's close to perfect in many ways, and I guess that's the main reason why I sold it. I'm more tool watch guy than luxury watch guy haha.
I’m in the market for a new timepiece and have been spending a lot of time looking at the Tudor range. I tried a Black Bay 58 and 41mm BB at the weekend and thought the 58 looked small on my wrist (And I haven’t got a big wrist or hands). Haven’t really considered a GMT until now as I wasn’t sure about the red and blue. Might have to take a closer look if I can. Quite interested in a chrono too
I have the BB41mm Burgundy and tried on the BB58 and thought it was too small as well. However, I've come round to it more now as I prefer to have a more comfortable fit and a thinner watch. Ffter trying it on again I thibknit fits me really well (I have 7.5 inch wrists)
Yes I for one really do not like the Rolex Mercedes hands. (I thought I was the only one lol). Plus so many brands seem to replicate them to make things worse
I own 3 Tudors all on bracelets and every one of them are superbly comfortable so I don’t see how you can say that ? Tudor are by far the best value luxury watch company out there , they make fantastic watches, I own omega and Rolex but wear my Tudors most of the time
I am glad you find the Tudor bracelets comfortable. Everyone is a bit different for how they like to wear their watches though, and my humble preference was on a Jubilee bracelet for the GMT. Cheers
I tried on the Tudor GMT but didn’t like the bracelet-the Uncle Seiko bracelet IS the business! I’ve come close to buying the GMT and the Pelagos but for some reason I haven’t. I picked up an Eterna Royal Kontiki GMT recently-I just wanted something different. It’s an office GMT(I’m ambivalent about travelers/office GMT’s). Best regards 😎
You would expect a watch manufacturer like Tudor to carry out better longer quality control tests PRIOR to release of their products especially if as in this case the movement was new ! To me they proves a cutting corners attitude and not a very positive aspect of that Brand. For that reason alone it would be very difficult for me to consider parting with decent money when I could opt for an Omega or for those who are into the lesser known manufacturers , your money is much better spent on the quality watch’s from Squale and Steinhart for example where they use workhorse movements such as ETA’s and Selita often found in far more expensive brands at a fraction of the price. I feel Tudor is an inferior product that these two brands anyway.
Fat watch..I had it and glue the date twice ..Not even the rolex service didn’t manage to repair it ..I sold it hopefully!!!!stay away from Tudor !!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with you. Wasn't a fan of it when it came out until I happened to see one in person at a meetup. The watch wears well despite the thickness.

it's a Uncle Seiko jubilee bracelet, which will fit any Tudor Black Bay watch

Very nice and honest review !
Where do I get the jubilee bracelet from ?
It's a Uncle Seiko jubilee for the Tudor BB GMT
Just purchased one on Saturday from my AD. Fantastic piece. Also own the BB Chrono and the BB 925. You're gonna love it. who makes that jubilee?
Uncle Seiko Jubilee bracelet
Can't decide between polished or brushed US jubilee. What's your recommendation?
I like the polished bracelet because the OEM Tudor bracelet is brushed👍
Yes, the GMT on the US jubilee looks the part. The only downside is the not so pleasant looking clasp. Is there a way to replace it with the Tudor OEM clasp?

Great watch and great overview, what's your next hype watch?.

I really like it on the jubilee bracelet
You're a big dude. GMT looks perfect on your wrist. Secret people keep forgetting about when they complain about the size of Tudor.
If I’m going to get a luxury GMT, it’s going to be a Grand Seiko. Much higher quality for the money.
Honestly I feel like Tudor is doing what the people want and Rolex just keeps doing the same thing over and over
