Recently, many Android smartphone users faced a problem with the keyboard app. When they try to use it, it displays an error and stops working. The keyboard issue is especially painful for those who prefer a numerical code to unlock their devices. The keyboard may suddenly stop working while you are trying to type in the code, which leaves you virtually locked OUT of your phone. This issue hit the Gboard app by Google, but the solutions we are going to offer will most likely work fine with keyboard apps by other developers too. How am I supposed to get another keyboard app if I can't type in the play store?
go in settings, and app management.

Can't go into settings without password and can't type the password with half a keyboard
get the keyboard app in the play store on a browser on your computer, when you push the "install" button it will appear different options with different phones
Find the app on a PC, send to yourself the link via Messenger or some other way. No keyboard necessary

Ok can't safe mode phone either can't take battery out. If you can't get into phone how can you get a different keyboard? Just saying no pc or computer just someone else's cell phone. Like it says lg keyboard keeps stopping. When you open emergency call box. So how do I get in when you can't type to get pass numerical pass code? Can't put it recovery or safe mode to delete cache. So what's the work around then? Remember you only have another phone to help you get in? So how can this be possible this way?
None of this will work if you can't unlock the screen. I've installed new keyboards, but it won't let me select a new keyboard without unlocking the phone. I've reset the phone and it doesn't fix it. Over and over, I've tried every recommended fix, and nothing works, except maybe an external keyboard, but I have to find an adapter.

How about I drop my phone and I can't unlock my keypad? The top row 1, 2 and 3 doesn't register so I can't even type in my 4-digit pin number. I got a new phone now, but I want to erased all the data on this broken phone.
