The other keyboards in the Play store all had AI in front of them and everyone was a disaster. You have explained the extra features very well so you were worth a gift $. !
Few more things: 1. You can just double tap space bar for full-stop. 2. You can put any image as your keyboard background theme. 3. You can use emojis anywhere and also you can search emojis by entering relevant name. 4. You can also control the height of Gboard. Hope this helped you. Thanks ✌️
Gboard is really handy to use when communicating on your phone. The gestures feature is very handy and saves you well needed time. I have also found that it has the most themes available on the app store. It should be offline by default. I have used a keyboard and immediately I had to rest Google passwords so always use airplane mode when entering passwords and then put it back on to submit.
Same. It's more accurate in my experience. And I like the anesthetics of it more. The keys are closer together so it's easier to type on for people with skinnier fingers.
Yeah if you have a PC or a tablet PC, the continuity is much better when typing on SwiftKey with Android vs. Gboard. (Universal Keyboard between PC & Android is also a main point too)
For me personally I prefer Swiftkey more because Microsoft has knocked this out of the park with the auto correct and punctuation after your glide the words. It has everything that the Gboard has but better as the emojis are more accurate in predictions but all in all both good keyboards but Swiftkey takes the crown for me between the two.
I agree. I've tried several keyboards, but always go back to my SwiftKey. Of course, SwiftKey also know my writing style better. The "learning period" of a new keyboard can be an actual pain in the peach.
I've tried SwiftKey a few times, but always ended up removing it. I just installed it; in fact, I'm using it to compose this comment. I'll give it another shot; maybe it's better now.

iPhone user since 2007!! (yup had the first iPhone) and have used Gboard with my iPhone all along. 3 days ago I bought the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Gboard experience on it is a total gamechanger!! Its the best I have experienced. With iPhone, it's not been that good ever!!
Can you compare it to swiftkey and give us your opinion please, it would be nice to know which suits and individual depending on his use, and maybe there are hidden featured that I haven't descovered yet.. I am swiftkey user "for the moment"
Clipboard limit is just 5. If it's over 5, gboard deletes the oldest one. It's bad. SwiftKey and Samsung keyboard implement better clipboard. They keep all clipboards.

Tip1: I was using Gbaord for the past 7 years in iphone! In ios version, it works as a calculator. Just type the numbers and use the symbols like +,-,*,/,etc. It automatically suggests the result. For eg. If you write 1+1 then it automatically sugegst "2" and if we click it, 1+1 gets replaced with 2. If you dont want the replacement, just put = sign. Tip2: there was literally a google search bar on top of the keyboard! Which was having many options. You can directly search anything and you can copy URLs, copy images, etc. And one of the options was contacts. You coould just search and select any contacts, it would come in the below foremat: 👤"name" "Phone number" All the above saves lot of time!
copied many features from SWYPE keyboard which is still the best due to the copy/cut & past feature just by swiping to C/X &V. i still use it and its simply awesome.
The one thing Google has over Samsung is the accuracy of text correction. Samsung has gotten much better absolutely. But it's still doesn't touch Google. And to be honest, text correction is the most important thing in a keyboard.
I agree.. Despite all the amazing features Samsung keyboard has, on which I've done a full video too, i still get myself to use it. Gboard is just super!
Strangely from my experience the Samsung keyboard is better in correction and suggestion than the Google one. The problem with the Samsung keyboard is that most people don't have a Samsung account and want the best experience 🤷🏽♂️.
I wish there was a way to change the dictionary on the voice text for gboard, my kids names are spelled uniquely and every time I use their names voice texting they're always wrong and I have to go back and correct, it's a pain and I've tried to change them in the dictionary and it doesn't affect voice texting
I wish the swipe was more accurate. I ended up going back to tapping at the keys with my thumbs. Also, I haven't used g board in like 6 years. I ended up using swift key which is more accurate in my experience.
Gboard settings >advanced >turn off usage statistics and personalisation if you dont like to send more data to google gboard setting >preferences >number row can be turned on ,Sound on keypress can be turned off, gboard settings >Text correction>undo auto correct on backspace
I wish i could make personal corrections for phrases or words that would be automatically be changed even though auto correction is off. For instance whenever i type: "idk" and I hit space, that it would change this to "I don't know".
So I'm on my phone with gboard installed. I want to use it to dictate an email. I click on gboard icon and I get Settings menu. Can't find out how to actually use it
Great Video tried to switch to it but I found it so laggy and slow compared to Microsoft Swift. Especially swipe typing I literally haven't found a keyboard that can keep up with it. With swift key you swipe next letter immediately when I tried Gboard it was so slow to input each word that the typing experience was unbearable in comparison.
I can't get the "schedule text clock" to show on my icon options. When I press on the settings gear I DO see the little clock icon for about half a second, but then it just immediately goes away and into "settings" for Gboard where anything for scheduling a text can not be found.

Samsung messages is still there. You just have to switch to it. In your apps, search for messages You'll see two apps. One is Google and the other is samsung. Just use the Samsung one.
I miss so much T9 functionality from my LG phones :( Also the background colour of letters and numbers being diffenent.. PS. Everything else mentioned on the video was literately possible on lg V30 5 years ago
Good review. I do think Gboard is the best keyboard right now, but only because Swype no longer exists. It was discontinued years ago, but IMO, Gboard still hasn't caught up to where Swype was back then. Its voice transcription was FAR superior to Gboard. It was more accurate and consistent overall, and a whole lot less buggy. Man, I miss that one.
One feature is missing from it. Split keyboard feature on landscape mode like Microsoft SwiftKey, which is very useful and I can see the message while typing on landscape mode. You can check it out

I've alternated between Gboard, swiftkey, and the samsung keyboard. They're all great! Gboard themes are easier to create and choose in comparison to samsung though.

I noticed on my s9 I change the font on the phone and it changes it on the GBoard as well. I have a Samsung S20 but doesn't seem to change like my s9 or there isn't any option. Would you know how.
you can drag from 123( the one that opens symbols) and leave on the symbol and continue typing same thing you can drag from shift to the letter you want capitalized and continue normally............ no need to turn caps on off for that

Another tip: you can swipe left on backspace key to quickly and precisely delete part of a text which is very convenient
