The Harley Quinn series is a prime example of how to do a franchise parody right. As a bit of a DC fan going on over 40 years, the amount of easter eggs and established character tropes they play upon shows a deep understanding of the characters and the franchise as a whole. It feels like a good natured celebrity roast compared to shows like Velma which come off as mean spirited trash talking from people who had no love or understanding of the franchises they were trying to parody and were just trying to cash in on the brand name alone.

I forgot Sy Borgman was in the show. He was one of my favorite parts of the New 52 Harley run. Really, a lot of this hits harder when you know all the history (and occasionally it may annoy some comics readers, for reasons I understand but don't agree with). Also, if you want stuff that blurs the line of what Batman and Joker's relationship to each other is, I'd suggest the early work of Frank Miller (never the later work, dear god he became something awful), the Snyder/Capullo Joker stories, and of course the Lego Batman movie. Personally, I ship Bruce with either Selina (vanilla, I know but the chemistry of Adam West and Julie Newmar sells it) or Silver St. Cloud.

It seems like a cope from people who think because it's trussed up in a clown attire that it means more because they can then pass it off as not serious My issue with she Hulk was not the push of the feminist message, it was that it did it wrong, The original she Hulk from the carooms/comics was feminist because she did things her way, didn't let others set her standards and was open about what she was, who she was, what she liked etc. That was powerful The new show however, was Ironically oppressive of that message by forcing she Hulk into a mold (by committee) of what the idea of feminism is, And that's where they actually failed, and with some other bad writing But both shows are blatant about the feminist message

Also the She Hulk show is actually malicious towards men and actively says you are bad. Harley just has feminist humor.

OK I have watched the show many times. I’ve watched other people react to the show. But I’ve never seen anyone vibe with it this hard. It’s like the writers wrote the show specifically for him.
Its made pretty clear that in the universe of the show Supervillain is a job, so being somehow involved in a plot by a supervillain could easily be seen as a cool experience, like meeting Robert Downey Jr or something in our world.
Remember Ra's Al Ghul from Batman Begins? Damian is the result of his daughter and Bruce hopping on the good foot and doing the bad thing. He was raised by the League of Shadows, and is (I think, I don't keep up with it that closely) the current Robin in the comics.
It is funny how superheroes seem to have animosity about meddling into each other's cities. It's like "hey batman!... What are you don't in MY city 😠? Oh you chased the joker here? Aight I'll help you catch. Then you can get the fk out of my city"
