@verspin6142 You may not like it's comedy, or how it uses the characters for some jokes, but its a lot better than chasing the success of JL TAS or yknow Teen Titans Go...
Usually in these "deep dive inside the mind" type of episodes in shows I'm like: "if this guy's mind is so chaotic and fucked up, I don't wanna imagine what's going on in mine", but this time it's quite the opposite. If the mind of a literal villain and psychopath is so chill, then my mind must be the sanest place on Earth.
Frankie Muniz isn’t a random made up name. Look up Malcom in the Middle. Frankie Muniz is an actor who’s probably best known for playing Malcom in that show.
It’s always been up to interpretation whether Harley was pushed, or chose to dive in the vat of chemicals that made her Haley Quinn. But, her origin story starting from her leaving Joker and become a solo anti-hero, makes sense. At least, for this show, on a meta level. Readers seem more interested in Harley’s escapades as an anti-hero doing her own thing, than when she was Joker’s sidekick. That switch from evil goon, to looney, chaotic good, I think, is what made Harley a fan favorite, and she’s only been around for a little over two decades! That’s not too long for comics. While many will say it was the Joker tag made Haley Quinn, and weather she jumped willingly or was pushed, it makes more sense that she turned out the way she did regardless. Maybe she was a little screwed up growing up, but the environment, and dysfunctional family she grew up in, didn’t help her violent tendencies. In a way, you could say Gotham, made her. Harley being a victim of circumstance. Of course, this is just speculation. But I can’t help but wonder, would she have become something else if she’d grown up somewhere like Metropolis? Maybe there’s a Harley variant that’s less psycho, but good, and just a normal good person? Maybe there’s a variant of Harley Quinn that’s a hero in another dimension?
For those that missed the credits, Sy Borgman, the old man in the wheelchair is Jason Alexander from Seinfeld. This series actually has a LOT of celebrity cameos, either as characters or themselves.
It is so nice and fun to see Nux watch Harley Quinn and Adventure Time just enjoying the drug infested chaos. Please keep watching these Nux and not velma season 2.
Hey, people were lining up to sell guns, cars and luxury vacations to the celebrity bank robbers back when that was a thing, so why wouldn't it be in any universe where that is still a viable industry? The Dillinger and James gangs actively cultivated the kind of fear/respected legend that supervillians aspire to, and you can't tell me that Harley Quinn doesn't draw a lot of inspiration from Bonnie Parker.
nux didn't notice but something i love about the scene with her memory, is after she changed it, all the pictures of Harley and joker are replaced with pictures of her and ivy instead
Agreeing with the insult is an excellent strategy in insult warfare, but is only effective when the insult you AGREE with is FAR LESS devastating than the one you are about to dish out.
I believe the 'worst baby' joke is a reference to the 90's batman cartoon, where a piece of clayface gets separated from him and takes on a life of its own. The new batman adventures s01e08
1:59 if any house sales person says "the price should be higher" i'm walking out, because if i don't their going through the house, the housing market is at a 1000% mark up MINIMUM, anyone who says a house should cost more at this point in time... needs a reality check
Not to mention you've hired them to find you closest match to what you want at the lowest price they can. If they're saying it should be more expensive they're admitting that they're not doing half of their job. It's the _selling_ agent's job to crank the price as high as they can, the buying agent's job is to knock it as low as possible.
29:40 You know what's funny about it? It's The Joker who said it. THE JOKER. A man who changes his memories like socks. A man who said this phrase: "Something like that happened to me, you know. I... I'm not exactly sure what it was. Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... if I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!". And that makes it more wholesome!
fun fact about the Jewish content: the show's executive producer (Justin Hlpern) and several members of the writing team are Jewish (so they're really making jokes about themselves with those scenes you extreme reacted to XD)
Did anyone mention that The Broker is actually a character in the Batman comics? They are always in the shadows, at best, and I'm not sure in Batman even knows who it is.
I am okay with the MCU and DC having a multiverse because that goes all the way back to the earliest days of their comic histories, they have multiverses since forever. However, I do think too many other IPs are starting to rely on the Multiverse Concept. Although, who am I to talk as I write multiverse stories LOL.
For those interested in a NOT cracked out version of Nux's parable: A religious man is in a town that's flooding and he prays to God to save him. As the water reaches his knees, a man on a raft comes by and offers assistance. The religious man refuses, as God will save him and he continues to pray. As the water rises, the religious man climbs to the second floor of his house and a speedboat comes by. The man in the speedboat tells the religious man to get in, as the water is only going to rise. The religious man refuses, as God will save him, and continues to pray. The water rises, the religious man is on the roof of his house and the Nat'l Guard helicopter comes by and says "Get in, we'll save you". The religious man refuses as God will save him. Eventually he drowns and when he meets God and cries and says "God, Why didn't you save me?" and God responds "What do you mean? I sent you a raft, a speedboat AND a helicopter, but you refused them all."
The fact Nux doesn't know who Frankie Muniz is is incredibly sad. However I am very happy for Frankie to continue doing work because his head injuries have caused him hefty memory loss issues from his time on Malcolm in the Middle. 9 concussions though will fuck with anyone's head severely.

One of the best things this show does is delve into the psychology of Harley, this episode being one of the prime examples of it.
