I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of this list. It isn't simply, "I love the suspension, the engine, the sound, etc." You give specific reasons why you love the things that you do. If I were in the market for this bike, your two list videos would be essential viewing. Thanks for the hard work.
@@AndyManCam great review Andy! Question: how tall are you and how do you fit? I’m 6’1” with long let’s and wonder whether I will fit. For reference, I’ve ridden the Tuono and that feels almost perfect for me
Another great review Andy. Thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Awaiting delivery of my CB1000r plus in a weeks time. Videos such as yours really get my bike juices flowing.
I have been drooling over the looks of this bike ever since I laid eyes on it, but the test ride I took didn’t excite me much. Coming from a VFR800 I bought a 2007 FZ1 which has all the performance I could ever want. Your video has certainly sparked up my old crush on the CB. I think I should treat myself and this Honda to a second rendezvous. Nice video!
Lovely bike Andy. Another thing I’d say it has over my 3.0 SDR is reliability. You just know that Honda will go on forever, and it has plenty of power for the road. I hardly ever open the taps all the way 🤷🏻♂️ Nice vid mate
So I took the plunge and got my plus 18 plate model last week. It has pilot 6s and handles like its on rails. Sounds blimin awesome with the full Acrapovic system with no flat spot and delivers a great torque curve all the way up into the rev range. So far so good, front end is well planted and atm no issues with the std rear shock. Like both the videos you put up as its a good insight to what is generally a very nicely put together bike.
Absolute spanking bike! I bought myself an XSR 900 last weekend for more or less the similar reasons: performance naked bike covered in a neo-retro package.
I watched the 11 things you hate about your bike first as I have a slight Honda bias but I'm not blinded from realty. As the saying goes, it's a Honda!, and that's so true, including the rubbish headlight beam, etc. However, was very surprised about the chipped tank paint and the cheap front mudguard. I'd certainly have a word with the dealer about the chipped tank being replaced under warranty. Both vlogs were as usual outstanding. Of course, it's an AMC vlog! 😁👍
Haha! I can just imagine the disgusted look a German Honda dealer will give me when I try and get chipped paint in as a warranty claim!! They're not exactly the most accommodating over here! The headlight is a real shame though. Auxiliary lights really help, but the bike is starting to look like a wannabe GS!!
Great video review AndyManCam. Had a test on the black edition at the weekend there and the fueling is spot on, best 4 cylinder bike I've ridden. Might have to invest shortly. Keep up the good work fella.
I totally agree mate. It’s the most enjoyable fueled bike I’ve ridden since my old carbed FZS600. Sadly my experience with the paintwork is not so rosy. Had an engine casing replaced due to corrosion and poor quality. But the replacement is now corroding after 6 months. Not sure what they’re painting their bikes with at Honda, but it doesn’t seem to even be waterproof!!
@@AndyManCam Yes mate, I saw the video about the corrosion. Not good. And poor initial service from Honda, they need to up their game. Looking forward to more vids. Keep up the good work, stay safe.
Too right they do! It’s too late for me, but they can still try and keep the rest of the customers! I don’t think that they will though. Short term profit over long term satisfaction. It’s the cancer of todays society in my opinion.
@@AndyManCam poor service is another thing Andy but I think modern water based paints just aren’t what they used to be, on anything we buy nowadays. Seems that way to me anyway, it’s not just Honda.
This silver reminds me of my 1974 Honda XL 350. Surely not as lustrous as today's offerings, but that's where it took me. Appreciate the list of likes, enjoyed the list of laments, as well.
*My 2019 came red *Headlight looks nice but the function sucks! *Dash nice, no issues with glare *Swing Arm awesome *Engine/Tranny smooth as butter *MISSING ......Cruise Control * Standard Mode is the all around mode to ride in *Handling is snappy * Front Wheel comes up if ya want, sometimes without help lol! I own a 2015 Honda VFR800DLX.... between the two I have a nice mix between the V4 and the Inline 4. Thanks for the Vidoes!
Very nice! Congratulations mate! I have created a user mode with Power on 2, Torque control on 1 and engine braking on 1 aswell. Just as smooth as standard, but with a smoother roll off the throttle due to minimal engine braking. That's pretty much all I use now!
I totally agree. I can’t imagine ever needing or being able to use more. And considering i can keep up with anybody i know that has more, they don’t really need it either!
It’s strange I always was a Kawasaki rider till one day I had ago on a Honda 550 and to my surprise the Honda was much better at Corning , it just felt more stable and I instantly loved it and through it into corners. So I think Honda have converted me 👍👍😊
Thanks for this video. Whilst i was looking at buying a 2023 1250R. I think im going to wait until the new 1300R is released mid next year. I was settled on the XSR900 Racer, but this Honda is equally as beautiful, if not more so. I think I'll buy both. Having both a triple and Inline 4 in the garage will be ideal :D. Then, the good old boxer for them long days in the saddle with the shaft drive.
@AndyManCam I'll ask again in the hope you see it soon. What were your thoughts on the 1090 adventure? I'm looking to sell my GSA for something bit more basic. Less to go wrong in my eyes.
I absolutely loved it mate. The motor is absolutely cracking. With the added benefit that being a sleeved down 1290, it’s never really stressed so should run forever. It was comfortable, easy to ride but with torque and chassis that meant i could really push on in the twisties. Mine also had comfort seat, heated grips and heated seat, so it was luxury on the long rides. If the used prices hadn’t gone crazy, i likely would have got another one gladly. That said, the only thing i would have changed was the weight. Therefore the Aprilia, at 35kgs lighter, was the infect choice.
Shame that they would feel the need to do it really. But then I suppose that there will be enough people who will trade up, simply because they need to have the newest version. Easy money for Honda.
Hi Andy, You could try a cruise control throttle clamp for the motorways. Didn't Teapotone get some sort of coating for his BMW, which might be good for the tank. Your dedicated video blogs showing the excellent twisties is much appreciated, so we know where to ride. Thanks ...EBC
Ive got a 2013 cbr600f for year round commute. Really considering this as my next bike as im looking for more in the 0-30 mph, more upright and doesnt look silly with a small topbox. This or the Suzuki gsxs1000f
Different the fun banter about your lovely motorcycle. Keeps me so dam entertained. Waiting on some stickers from your mech store. They will be proudly displayed on my top box next spring when I can ride my v-strom again. Don't worry about me. I love my snowmobile too.
Hi Andy. I've just bought a 2019 plus model ( private sale). It's got the OEM Dunlop tyres on it. Not very impressed with them. The bike has 4000 miles on the clock, so after a service, I shall be swapping the tyres. I had Avon 3d ultra tyres on my cbr6000f, and they were great. Might try the Avon Spirit tyres, not that I ride in the wet that much. Just want to feel confident with my tyre choice. Also considering Michelin or Bridgestone. Since buying my bike, I have watched quite a few of your videos. Cheers for all your info, stay safe Sir 👍 Arron
Thanks Arry! Congrats on the new bike. Yeah those Dunlops are awful. The Spirit ST‘s are great in the dry as well as in the wet. I’ve had no issues whatsoever. I’ve even already got a spare front lined up!
@@AndyManCam cheers for the reply Andy. Ended up going for Avon storm XMs. They've transformed the bike. Not properly scrubbed them in yet, but already feel much happier. Cheers 👍
Andy one more question where is the color goes it’s a close match to the 2020 Lincoln continental I think it’s like platinum silver but I agree with you it’s very deep and incredibly cool for a silver sorry to hear that it’s soft
Hey mate I've seen one that has carbon fibre panels replacing the brushed aluminum panels, including belly pan below that looks pretty food. I think the silver plastic/moulds on the bike are not fitting, but the tank is beautiful in that deep colour.
I'm not so keen on Carbon for this look. i prefer the slightly retro edge. But I do plan to wrap the tank and the alu panels with brushed titanium vinyl. To give it a slightly darker look.
Thanks Alex! It's a standard gopro curved mount and clip, with a cheap ebay special aluminium arm that I've had for years. Sadly the clip didn't like the length of the arm and being mounted sideways, so after about 1000km it snapped. Thankfully the camera wasn't harmed!
Great video again Andy, its a Honda so what more can you say !!. One little question, have you even considered using a Insta360 camera?, i have seen a few reviews using it on a bike and gives stunning results.
Absolutely! And thankfully quite an exciting Honda at that! I've considered a 360, but the extra level of faff to get the videos useable, plus the immense cost, has always put me off. Never say never, but currently there just isn't the budget, the time or the will for 360!
I like the 2021 Blackout version with quick shifter and smaller tail and TFT display. The problem is it may not be available in the U.S. We never got the 2019 Plus version out in U.S ,so the blackout may not happen. The 2019 models are discounted very heavily out here in U.S... Very temping to save $4,000. I'm sure the 2021 blackout model will be expensive.
The Blackout model is very cool. Everything else just looks a bit naff though IMHO. They've made all the aluminium trims smaller, so more of the ugly plastic and pipework is showing (the radiator trim was already too small to cover the radiator, and now its 30% smaller!). They should have just created a Blackout version of the 2020 model and saved the money on making new parts that nobody really wants!
Great video Andy. I'm looking at getting a bike again but damn it - Ive always had Hondas and was determined to get something different this time. Now you may have swayed me back! I agree too, it looks fantastic and Honda have done an annoyingly good job. Sorry Ducati.....
FIRST TIME SEEING YOU ON YOU TUBE. WHAT A FANTASTIC VIDEO! BEEN THINKING HARD BETWEEN CB1000R, Z900, GSX S1000& NINJA 1000SX. MY FAVORITE LOOKING BIKE IS THE CB1000R BUT THE PRICE TAG IS A LITTLE HARD TO JUSTIFY. HAVE YOU RIDDEN ANY OF THE OTHER BIKES? I’VE RIDDEN THE Z900. I HAVE SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL AND LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING THROUGH YOUR CATALOG AND WATCHING MORE OF YOUR VIDEOS.
Hi William! Thanks and welcome along! I managed to get a great price on my CB1000R. I imagine there'll be more opportunity for the same when the 2021 model is released. I've ridden the GSX-S1000 and found it to be really very good, but not as exciting style wise as the CB. The Ninja was unfortunately a bit too small for me and the Z900 I decided I didn't like the looks enough to try one. Have fun watching through the videos mate! You should be done by next Christmas! 😜
🤔 used to have 84 1000 suzuki gs way back when. Was really too fast was getting too carried away. Got rid of it,no riding for many years. Retired and wife talked me back into ridding again. Got honda goldwing for a bit 😎🏍👍🏻 now not riding as quick as you ,but having second hog. Ya not your style does me fine puts smile on my face. Many hwy miles 150,000 kms last six years 🤓😎👍🏻. Next time will more than likely be a little lighter goldwing or so. love what you ride but ride safe 😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦. Enjoy, ya do scrap around the corners still a lot 🤓
Both pro and con reviews are spot on mate👏 I'm looking to get one and they were extremely helpful. I know it's a tough question - but what would say are the direct competitors to this bike, considering the price range and the overall quality ratio?
Thanks Pavao, happy to have been helpful. I’d say the direct competition in terms of performance would be the MT-10, GSXS1000, BMW S1000, Speed Triple etc.. in terms of looks, Kwak Z900rs, BMW RnineT, Yam XSR900, maybe the Duc 1100 scrambler.
Extremely useful video. I’m looking to add to my garage. Your take on this motorbike, I’m of the opinion, is valuable. You have cast my gaze to this remarkable machine. Will be researching your upgrades and very interested in your 11 things “un-likely”. Thank You. 👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸 🌎
Thanks for a very informative video. I would be obliged for your comments on the grip, wear, etc. of the Avon Spirits. Also which make of crash bars have you fiited?
My pleasure Jim! Thanks for watching. Naturally I'll put together a full video about the Avons after a bit more experience. But so far, Im really impressed. Did you see the video in Thüringer Wald? Very wet and cold, yet the tyres were solid as a rock. The Crash bars are SW-Motech
I agree that this silver looks better than any other I've seen. The overall looks and engine are this bike's big selling points. Its tractability is a big draw for me. I love being able to ride through villages at 30 mph in top. It's civilised. My old B-King would actually do it at 20 mph. And on zero throttle opening. The single-sided swingarm is a thing of beauty and practicality. I didn't know about the underseat storage. A definite plus. I also like the registration plate holder. A question: how frequent are the valve clearance checks?
Glad to hear it! Correct! 😜 The tractability really is fabulous. And all of that but wth the overall smoothness and top end rush of the inline four makes it perfect! Valve clearance checks are 36,000km.Oil changes also at 12,000km. Not too shabby.
Really good positive review and very enjoyable as I bet the bike is too im almost sold on one already.. I'm guessing one of the 11 bad things is no centre stand ! ( not even sure there is or isn't one ) Why would honda do that.. Anyway thanks i will keep my eye open for your vids..
Great video: yep its a good bike, I have a red one 2018. Haven't yet gotten over 200km out of a tank though so don't know about that. Also why do the header pipes brown so easily?
Is there a hole in your fuel tank! I've gotten 300km several times now! 😜 Maybe you're just filling up too soon? I squeeze at least 50km more out after the reserve light starts to flash! My header pipes are currently worse than brown, as I melted my bike cover onto them. 🤦🏻♂️ Will have to polish that off.
It is in many ways a great bike, I disagree on the styling though, think it's a bit of a dad bike, but taste obviously varies between individuals, most important part is that you like the bike since it is yours.
Some of the best looking bikes came out in my Dad's time! But yeah, each to their own. If we all liked the same stuff, the roads would be pretty boring!
@@AndyManCam I absolutely agree with that, it's a great thing that we all have different tastes. I think for me it's possibly more of a brand thing. No denying Honda is a top quality manufacturer, and some of their bikes from a few generations ago are the reason I got into motorcycles at all. The original Africa twin was one of my first dream bikes. A mates dad had a VFR 750 that was so fast it scared the crap out of me, I think most of us dream of owning a cbx with that insane inline 6 orchestra. But for me personally it seems like they've taken the insanity out of their bikes, which I think is a shame. But you are absolutely right, it's all about personal taste, and well, just cause I don't love the bike I still enjoyed the video.
I am using the winter to think about what new stuff I should put on my Kawasaki Z900 ... thinking about a Quickshifter but ... translogic vs healtech? thoughts ??
The Healtech that I had on the Versys and the FZ1 were great. I've never tried Translogic, but hoping to change that very soon! They're working on a brand spanking new product for the CB1000R 😊
Thanks mate, your videos are inspiring and classy 🙂👍 i bought a 2019 red one and i stocked up on quality condiments for it 🙂 i got a Case of Motul 7100 Esther 4T 10W40 engine oil, a Case of Castrol Actevo X-Tra 10W30 oil, a case of Engine ice Coolant, Motul chain cleaner and paste, a case of Star Tron enzyme fuel treatment, Motul RBF 600 racing brake fluid, Motul 10W expert Fork Oil, K&N 204 oil Filters & a set of Dunlop sportsmax Roadsmart 3 tires 🙂 I treat it like royalty cause it is a Honda which is made for Nice Riders with a character 😊 plus it looks better than My GF 😉😁
I am considering between the CB1000R and the GSXS 1000. Given your extended experience with the Honda, wondering if you have tried the Suzuki? Which would be the better handling bike in your opinion? Thank you.
I have ridden the Suzuki, but it was a few years ago now so probably not at all relevant for the latest version. Froma what I remember though, the suspension was much tighter on the Suzuki and the engine was possibly smoother too. But the overall package and styling of the Honda grabbed me the most. Once I'd upgraded the rear shock and tweaked the forks, the handling on the Honda was great. But the buzzy vibes were always there...
Thank you Andy for sharing. Very interesting insight. With no test rides here, best I could muster was a sit. The Suzuki placed me over the front wheel, much like my 2010 Z1000 did. Loved the handling on that bike. The CB, with its longer tank had me further away, a bit like my Z900RS Cafe, which I never gelled with. Not concluding seat positioning translates into handling though. On quality of finish, the CB is in another league.
I will say that the styling of the CB1000R certainly is another level, but the quality sadly let me down. Soft paint and quickly corroding bolts. I know what you mean about the ‚long‘ feel of the CB, but i never found that it reduced handling or feel from the front. It did mean more pressure on my wrists on longer rides though.
How do you think it would handle in comparison to the Z900? Which do you think would be more precise? (Like a Katana when it comes to handling) I've been trying to get an answer to this for a while, I hope you can help
Wow 5 to 6 k to run through tires i am on s22's on my fz1 and at 7 k i still have more than half the tire left. A friend has the fz1 and also got 16k out of a set of s21's which included a 9k tour. What air pressure are u running..we usually stick to 42 on the rear.
Andy would you recommend this as a first bike after riding a little Honda Grom? Will it likely kill me 😅or is it controllable and would you have it over a street triple 765 RS ? 🙏
Hard to say. Sure the fuelling is way smoother than my last litre bike was, making this seem a little tamer. But the torque at the low end is much fatter and the fireworks at the top end are a Bit more explosive! But then i guess that you could just smash it into rain mode to begin with and get used to the grunt. That way the bike can grow with your abilities as you steadily unleash the ponies. Possibly better than first buying a 600 and then trading it in a year later for a 1000! These days, litre bikes are overall far more accessible than they used to be. 👍🏻. I’ve never ridden a Striple RS, but if they were physically a bit bigger, i seriously would have considered one next to the Honda. Let’s be honest, that 765 is sweet as a nut and nobody really needs more power than it has!
the truth is... if you have good skills for skating. skate board. bicycling or any activities that require balance plus all ready ride small motorcycles very well the cb 1000r wont be any trouble for you.... jus show respect take it easy and enjoy it.
Get a ECU flash for the FZ1 and you got a bike back with a night and day difference. the FZ1 is so much better and smoother with a proper ecu flash and the annoying fuel cut is gone👌🏻
Although I totally agree ( I flashed the ECU with FTECU and removed the fuel cut. The difference was remarkable) I'd still have to say that the fuelling on the Honda is still much better. I think there is only so much you can do with a first gen EFI bike and it'S only fitting that a much newer machine is better in that respect. So if someone has an FZ1 and doesn'T want to shell out on a new machine, I would 100% advocate your thoughts. For me though, it was time for a change anyway! coupled with the fact that here in Germany, ECU flashing is a very dark and mostly illegal art that isn't as easily accessible as it is in the rest of the world. I actually reversed the flash as I couldn't relax riding a bike that the TÜV and the police wouldn't approve of if they ever looked under the bonnet!
@@AndyManCam Well sometimes a man need a new toy 😃. I am happy with my fz1 and luckely i live in the Netherlands 😎. I heard the germans were strict when it comes to vehicles, but this is too harsh 😔.
@@AndyManCam in Holland you get a ticket when the bike makes too much noise and that's it. But riding in the countryside without a db killer is fine. haha.
@@AndyManCam They have done this in the US on cars and bike for years and I think it looks a bit rubbish. However, I recently read it can have a big impact on reducing SMIDSY accidents by improving the "noticeability" of your approach. So, on that basis, I say, yay! (we should all have them... (or more/better funky shaped DLRs!! :) ))
Yes and no. The power settings mean that you can ease into it and the traction control should stop you getting into trouble. But that said, it's still a big bike with a LOT of power for a first machine. Everybody drops their first bike and everybody gets into hot water with their first bike. Sure these bikes are far more rideable than they used to be in the 'olden days' but I'm still not 100% sure that a 1000cc bike is ever the best starting point. On a lighter bike, with less power, you actually learn the fine art of biking. You learn how to do the technical stuff well like U-turns and filtering, without the bulk of the large bike handicapping you. You also learn how to ride properly and carry your speed smoothly through corners, because you don't have the grunt to simply squirt back up to speed afterwards. I wouldn't be the rider I am today if I hadn't had a string of smaller and less powerful bikes, all without any of the rider aids that this bike has. I learned how to ride properly and fully manually, rather than relying on the tricks in the bikes brain to make me feel like a good rider. Also when I dropped each and every one of those bikes, it didn't cost a fortune to fix them up! As a result I can ride this bike faster, safer and smoother and almost never actually have to rely on the aids to keep me pointing in the right direction. Of course, that's just my opinion. I started biking a fairly long time ago, when litre bikes were more akin to riding a dragon than the tamed beasts that they are nowadays!
I've heard you moan on about northern Germany, but it looks like beautiful countryside to me. I say you're a lucky fella to live in such a lovely place!
I moan because it's all very flat and the roads are very straight. Sure I can agree that it's a pretty area of the world. But for riding a Bike it really is pretty boring. Plus because I live in the city, it takes me forever to get to anywhere worth riding. To get to where this video began, takes almost an hour. Even though it was only 20km away from my home!! 😂
I guess the grass is always greener. Having seen some of the most amazing riding I've ever experienced, just 3 hours south of here, I always find myself longing for that!
I agree, great looking bike. With the exception of that number plate holder, I saw one fitted with a tail tidy and it looked much nicer imo. Also I don't understand why honda continue to fit rubber brake lines when braided stainless steel ones must be no more costly.
I think that's something that many manufacturers will continue to do. If they can save 50p per bike... I'm still holding on the idea of the low plate holder. I'm going to see if I can't modify it somehow to make it prettier...
I'd say that the colour of the tank is closer to grey than silver, yes u could argue that its all part of the same family, but it's definitely grey m8...
Silvery grey, greyish silver, dark silver, light charcoal, dusty white, sparkly mundane.... Potato potarto! 😜 Honda says Silver and I don't really care! I like it, and that's all that matters!
@@AndyManCam if I hadn't bought my new KTM 1290 Super Duke GT, (the lease said about ktm customer service the better 🤬) then I'd have given the cb a test ride
Those hypernakeds are for journalists and hooligans. The CB1000R is a versatile bike that can do anything. I have a CB650R and it’s a very similar beast, just obviously with 35% less power/torque. I love it. It seems that Honda might have killed off the CB1000R which is a real shame. The CB1000 Hornet looks decent but certainly a lot cheaper looking than the CB1000R. Hopefully they will surprise us with a CB1000R update for 2025/2026.
I agree that it is a very versatile machine. I certainly enjoyed riding mine and had no trouble keeping up with friends on more powerful bikes. I do think that the premium look of the CB1000R is an illusion though. I had lots of paint finish problems and part fitment issues with mine. In the end, it started to look so shabby just through ‚normal use‘ that i sold it.
Think Honda have had a kick up the pants, didn't catch my attention at first but now I think it looks ace, kinda old and new but they pulled it off. PS gloves ok?
Absolutely! They've nailed this modern retro thing, without just copying the old-old model exactly. Gloves were very warm and dry up til about 3,5 hours in. Then sadly the water started to get in. Still not a bad effort though!
@@mattmutane5502 Weight: 10kg is not that much actually considering how much larger the Diavel is and what that weight accounts for (larger suspension/forks and engine) - proportionally the diavel is just as light, Handling: diavel is more nimble than you'd think supremely balanced - chased down many a naked bike in the twisties, easily... Smoothness: Honda for the win there I guess, and I guess if that's your metric you're happy with 4-5K rpm wallow, which on the streets is a bit of a waste.
Sure the Diavel is cool. It's a bit of an unexplored guilty pleasure for me TBH. But I think that for my only bike, I'd rather stick with the Honda. would gladly like to see who eats who in the twisties though. I've moved on from chasing Naked bikes to Sportsbikes 😜
@@AndyManCam agreed 🙂 by design. Just pointing out about the material, also.. only a joke 🤷♂️, also also should have said, love the bike and the videos. Ace content Sir Cam 👌
"What I love about the CB1000R: The smooth engine with no vibrations." (watches other video) "What I hate about the CB1000R: The engine has too many vibrations!" wait....
In the positive Video, i Talk about the smoothness of the fuelling and the power delivery. Overall, it’s a very smooth running engine. But in the negative video i talk about the specific rev range in which the bike is annoyingly buzzy. The devil is in the details Smoky. Maybe pay attention to them next time. 😘
@@AndyManCam I paid attention to the comments on the rev range. Just wasn't planning to annotate every detail. Either an engine is buzzy or it isn't. Especially if that is happening in an rpm range you use or travel through often, and not just at the top of the band
@@SmokysRides You couldn’t be more wrong. From 0-3000 it’s as smooth as you like. From 3000 it starts to get buzzy and after 6000 it starts to smooth out again. Probably a combination of fuelling and the resonance of the parts of the engine as they jump around at different speeds. But hey, who am I to say. I only own one.
Andy I watched both videos your love and hates however as much as I like that bike I do not like the look of that large can may be a whole system would bring you the pops and crackles I don’t know and as far as the table tidy goes tail tidy goesk
I personally don't find the can too big. Sure it could be smaller, but others are FAR bigger! Sadly a full system isn't an option for me as I have to have the EURO4 cats in place to be road legal.
Stay tuned to my TH-cam channel for the 11 things I love about andymancam 😘😂 Fantastic looking bike, more so since they're now offering it in the same colour as my fireblade (candy glory Red)
@@AndyManCam I’m not a fan of the colour either but that opening mechanism on hot summer days waiting for a ferry or just sitting in traffic is a life saver. I’m considering something like that as well
On the neo, backpast bullshit....bullshit....why can't people see this as a naked fireblade without all the heat....nice enuff for sure ....I've got a fourteen....but it should have been at least an eleven hundred out of a blackbird for a real neo ball-kicking bike...🤓In that frame packaging....😳
I disagree. The engine is more than enough for the package. Just because KTM and Aprilia have 180hp bikes, doesn’t make more power the be all and end all. If the 1100 is smoother, then sure. But i never find myself unhappy with this bikes ‚ball-kicking‘ abilities and I’ve had no trouble keeping up with folks on far more larily engined machines.
I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of this list. It isn't simply, "I love the suspension, the engine, the sound, etc." You give specific reasons why you love the things that you do. If I were in the market for this bike, your two list videos would be essential viewing. Thanks for the hard work.

Cheers Chris, I totally agree! More than enough beans and it'll likely keep running long after I've lost interest in biking!
Thoroughly enjoyable - tried one yesterday and thought it the best of the current nakeds
Congratulations Paul. I wish you many happy miles!
Absolute spanking bike! I bought myself an XSR 900 last weekend for more or less the similar reasons: performance naked bike covered in a neo-retro package.
Many thanks Walter and congratulations on the new ride! Nothing better than going fast, but looking classy as you do it!
@@AndyManCam Complain to Honda, as they've probably already watched your reviews 🤷. It's the squeaky wheel that gets oiled!
I doubt if they even know I exist mate. And i doubt even more if that they care about my opinions! 😂
My pleasure! Thanks Jeff!
*My 2019 came red
*Headlight looks nice but the function sucks!
*Dash nice, no issues with glare
*Swing Arm awesome
*Engine/Tranny smooth as butter
*MISSING ......Cruise Control
* Standard Mode is the all around mode to ride in
*Handling is snappy
* Front Wheel comes up if ya want, sometimes without help lol!
I cannot help but to physically cringe when someone says 150hp on a naked bike is "not enough". great video! keep it up.
I totally agree. I can’t imagine ever needing or being able to use more. And considering i can keep up with anybody i know that has more, they don’t really need it either!
That was great mate I’m really thinking about getting one, iv got a cb1300s at the minute, really like the red ,thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Mark, my pleasure! Lovely machine and well worth a try!
It’s strange I always was a Kawasaki rider till one day I had ago on a Honda 550 and to my surprise the Honda was much better at Corning , it just felt more stable and I instantly loved it and through it into corners. So I think Honda have converted me 👍👍😊
The bike has converted me, but the service from the brand has really put me off. Disgusting level of no shits for my satisfaction given.
My pleasure. If you can stretch to both, then that’s the best of both!
@AndyManCam I did message you on your fb page mate.
Yeah i don’t really have much to do with Facebook any more. It just gives me the rage! Much like Twitter. Instagram is going that way too!
You are bang on about the looks versus the new one. They’ve made a stunning bike look a bit worse.
Shame that they would feel the need to do it really. But then I suppose that there will be enough people who will trade up, simply because they need to have the newest version. Easy money for Honda.
I don't get why they did modithe headlight. The old one looks so much cleaner
TBH mate, I don't need cruise control enough to start bolting extra bits on. It would have been nice, but I've managed this long without!
Thanks Shawn! Glad you enjoyed my insights mate. Even more glad that you can still get out on your Snowtorbike! 😉
Cheers for all your info, stay safe Sir 👍
Arron
Thanks Arry! Congrats on the new bike. Yeah those Dunlops are awful. The Spirit ST‘s are great in the dry as well as in the wet. I’ve had no issues whatsoever. I’ve even already got a spare front lined up!
@@AndyManCam cheers for the reply Andy. Ended up going for Avon storm XMs. They've transformed the bike. Not properly scrubbed them in yet, but already feel much happier. Cheers 👍
Those mirrors look gorgeous and actually usable! Could you tell me what brand they are? I’d love to put those on my CB650R!
They’re Hashiru mirrors from Polo Motorrad.
@@AndyManCam appreciate the reply! (:
No problem! I appreciate the watch!
Andy one more question where is the color goes it’s a close match to the 2020 Lincoln continental I think it’s like platinum silver but I agree with you it’s very deep and incredibly cool for a silver sorry to hear that it’s soft
It is a real shame. Such a great colour, but I can't see it looking very good in 5 years time. It'll all have fallen off by then!
Out in the rain anf NO ranting, oh you do love that bike...
Crazy right! Not a single tantrum!! 😆
@@AndyManCam but to be fair, alot of it's down to the right gear. Staying dry is key to a happy life...
@@AndyManCam No NAV in sight, I suspect helped... ;) :D
Hey Andy. Great video as always . Which mount/arm are you using for the camera that is facing you? The one mounted on your windshield.
@@AndyManCam Yes the money is always the issue putting me off also, but i will get one at some stage as my GoPro 3 (yes 3) is a little outdated now :)
The best camera is the one you’ve got at the time! 😉
Don't blame me! It's the bike's fault! I am just the mouthpiece for the Neo Sports Cafe message!! ;D
FIRST TIME SEEING YOU ON YOU TUBE. WHAT A FANTASTIC VIDEO! BEEN THINKING HARD BETWEEN CB1000R, Z900, GSX S1000& NINJA 1000SX.

Thanks mate. I promise you that it'll be like a different bike! You could put part worn clogs on there and still have more feel!
Great review 👍🏼
link to those bar end mirrors..?
@@AndyManCam Thanks.

Excellent video, though I had to pause it half way through to answer the phone but kept clicking on your jacket by mistake..! 👍
Hahaha! It is somewhat distracting!!
Nice one Andy. That engine is a peach and as we know it's what you do with it that counts :)
You got that right!
Loved all the points in the cb1000r, did you need to remove the tank to fit the booster plug?
Depends how fat your fingers are! Mine are relatively slender, so I managed to leave the tank on. Video coming soon.
Can you explain what a booster plug is please
I'm working on it.
What is a BOOSTER PLUG? I have a couple of Honda's and would like to improve my fueling to suit after narket exaust systems.
No, the CB1100Ex is a Dad bike! I know, I own one, but I am a Dad so all good.
Are there skid plates to cover the lower part of the bike ....????
Not that I’ve seen.

Yep. Any more is just over the top number-wanking! I probably only really use about 75% of what I've got with the CB!
What is your assessment of the wind protection? What highway speeds are maintanable? Thanks
There is none! It’s a naked bike! Anything over 70mph gets very tiresome, very quickly.

It’s a terrific bike!
Great vid !! Just looking at one of theses, so very useful 👍
How do you think it would handle in comparison to the Z900? Which do you think would be more precise? (Like a Katana when it comes to handling)
I've been trying to get an answer to this for a while, I hope you can help
I’m afraid i couldn’t answer that as i haven’t ridden a Z900. Sorry.
That’s impressive! I was also on 42 rear. Maybe the OEM‘s come with less tread depth?
@@AndyManCam hurm yah likely..i ve heard of manufacturers making lighter oem tires with less tred depth etc.

Enjoid the ride out, "New Helmat so you have" tell us about it?
All in good time my dear fellow! I'm working on the Jacket/trousers first, then comes the lid. Hopefully before Christmas.
Totally agree with you there. Respect is the key! Otherwise they bite!

@@AndyManCam yeah, sounds about right 😁
Good for first bike?
Holy crap that’s what you look like! It would never have guessed.
Ha! But I've shown my face LOADS of times in the videos already!! I'm keen to hear what you thought I looked like though! 😆
I've heard you moan on about northern Germany, but it looks like beautiful countryside to me. I say you're a lucky fella to live in such a lovely place!
apparently the footage is quite far from where he lives (mentioned in the "11 things i hate" video)
@@AndyManCam Thanks for the reply! I guess it's all relative, because compared to where I live, and ride, this video looks like motorcycle heaven!
I guess the grass is always greener. Having seen some of the most amazing riding I've ever experienced, just 3 hours south of here, I always find myself longing for that!
Beautiful bike. I love mine. I’ve just put Road 5s on it. They’ve been great.
Cheers! Good to know that the Road 5's work on it too. I'm really enjoying the Avon Spirit ST's at the mo.
Why the stock pipe back? Any issues with the old one?
It made the engine buzz too much for my liking. Noticeably smoother with the stock can back on. Back to the drawing board on that one!
@@AndyManCam I see. Well good to know.
Bit of a shame really. It looked way better!
I agree with the new headlight being overdone. Prefer the simpler and functional looking design of your bike.
I wonder if they've improved the function though?!
👍 Cool looking bike
Thanks 👍
I agree, great looking bike. With the exception of that number plate holder, I saw one fitted with a tail tidy and it looked much nicer imo. Also I don't understand why honda continue to fit rubber brake lines when braided stainless steel ones must be no more costly.
I think that's something that many manufacturers will continue to do. If they can save 50p per bike... I'm still holding on the idea of the low plate holder. I'm going to see if I can't modify it somehow to make it prettier...
Nice bike👍👍
Thanks mate! 🙌🏻
@@AndyManCam wwoooo don't get ur knickers in a twist 😉😅😅 it's a cracking bike, especially in that metallic grey.. 😅😅😉😉👌👌
Haha! Don't worry, all in good spirits! As long as it looks good, that's all that really counts! 😉
@@AndyManCam if I hadn't bought my new KTM 1290 Super Duke GT, (the lease said about ktm customer service the better 🤬) then I'd have given the cb a test ride
Do you ride in December, Andy?
I did an 800km round trip yesterday mate! :D
@@AndyManCam nice!
Ducati Diavel 1260s eats this in every regard. NOM!
Except in handling.... and weight... and smoothness...
@@AndyManCam LOL - BANTS :) enjoy the ride brother! Love ya work.
Cheers mate, you too! 👊🏻
270km/tank???
I've been feathering mine for the past 3 tanks and barely touching 200 haha
Haha! Maybe there's a leak in your fuel tank! Or maybe I'm just being too gentle!!
The engine is from 2006 fireblade not 2008.
I beam is stiffer than blanks of same weight.
Blank is stiffer than I beam og same dimension.
Right you are then. Gold star. ⭐️
"That came from the road, not my ass...honest." LOL! Lies!
Just kidding of course, enjoyed the video, thanks.
You can't prove it!! 😜😜
Lol.
Steel more flexible than aluminium..? 🤔 hmmm
Aluminium frames are stiffer than steel frames. Fact.
@@AndyManCam agreed 🙂 by design. Just pointing out about the material, also.. only a joke 🤷♂️, also also should have said, love the bike and the videos. Ace content Sir Cam 👌
Many thanks Lord Marks! 😊
"What I love about the CB1000R: The smooth engine with no vibrations."
(watches other video)
"What I hate about the CB1000R: The engine has too many vibrations!"
wait....
@@AndyManCam and I'm only going by what you say in your videos. Lol I started off just making a joke. Stop being such a sensitive prick. Moving on...
Sorry, i didn’t realise. Where i come from, jokes are normally funny. Nice of you to resort to insults and really send the humour home though. 👍🏻
'Tis I, Leclerc, hahaha! :-)
Listen very carefully.....
@@AndyManCam I shall say zis only vonce!
Stay tuned to my TH-cam channel for the 11 things I love about andymancam 😘😂
Fantastic looking bike, more so since they're now offering it in the same colour as my fireblade (candy glory Red)
Only 11 things!! :D
that was a good ass juicy review
Many thanks Sam!
RIP Nishua! 😂
Well, I wouldn't go THAT far! I'm not sure that yellow is really my colour and the HJC is a fair bit heavier than the old faithful Nishua!
I've just purchased the Nishua based on your review..love it super light.👍🏍
The lightness is it's real strength @RickLockwood. I don't think I'll be retiring it that quickly!
20:19 cough/bullshit/cough

runs low 11’s in 1/4 mile.
Apparently even faster than the sportsbike it’s based on... up to a point!
And call it meteor.....
