It’s the same with the Supra- now that it has the correct-offset wheels, the whole car just pops, much better than the original. Stance is everything. Well yes. And we fixed the trans tunnel and subframe so the monster engine sits centered. Like we said in the video an electric steering column is one less pulley.

I recently did a Coyote swap on my Ford Lightning and the engine sits a few inches to the passenger side as well. A lot of swaps I’ve done do this as well. Weird
Honesty moving over the whole engine, doing all sorts of work on the k member, cutting the trans tunnel, and having to build a completely custom axle for the offset is ridiculous. Could of just built a custom machined offset intake/hat mount to make the difference if it's so important. Not to mention the engine needs an certain amount of tilt for proper pinion angles. I just don't get it, there are way easier ways. 🤔
Changing the offset of the intake would still look strange to us. Adrian is working on the geometry for the drivetrain placement before its final resting place. Trust we looked at all the options to avoid moving the entire drivetrain. We've been building cars for many many years and we've developed loads of experience in the best and quickest ways to get the job done. We promise not to let you down with the finished product!
In our experience people will always find something to complain about. Besides the supercharger is there something we didn't get that was screen accurate?
@@JustDriven intake manifold is putting it way to high in the air. Also too far back which is why the snout is going to be so long to line up with the drives. Engine in the movie was a 392 and a 671. Coils in the back of the older heims pushed the blower forward and that’s how they got the shorter snout. Their intake from the heads to the blower is much lower and more efficient than this adapter currently putting it way up high. Also the intake in the garage screen was smaller with more in line with the older era drag engines. Whole set up needs to be dropped at least 3 inches. Whole blower will be outside of the hood when in the movie it was 1/3 too half out of the hood. Gonna be sick no doubt, but this is looking to mirror more of the exterior fake blower than the engine scene. But with all this said, it’s 20 years later and some stuff doesn’t exist anymore or is hard to find. The car itself looks 100% spot on.
Nope. The plan is to have some kick ass cars to enjoy (that's why we've spent so much time making sure they look good and are actually drivable- thus the AC in the Charger).
We didn't forget the FJ! Thank you for the patience. We are still battling some costs for the interior panels. We sent the prototypes out to a couple places to see who was willing to produce them and gather costs. When we get this all finalized we will release another video with the specifics on pricing and options.
The wheelie car in the movie was a different car than the one driving. We counted no less than 3 different Chargers in that scene alone. But yah it would be pretty sick if it did a wheelie!
stuff like the engine not sitting center of engine bay is a non issue. the supercharger was fake in the movie so they just stuck it on the center of the hood. building a "real" engine for a "real" car, having it off center is fine. if you were building an "EXACT" replica then it should have a fake supercharger on it, and who in their right mind would do that? i do respect your values in wanting to build it 100% accurate to the move though.
I appreciate the effort and work to replicate the movie car this precisely, no easy task for sure. BUT the movie cars engine/blower was a poor replica of the real thing, it never should have been centered. This feels a bit like adding a 14 speed H pattern to replicate the race scenes. Great work, odd choice of details to replicate so precisely.
We will blame OCD. And we don't really think it's that strange. It shouldn't have been centered. You are right, but it was! So with Adrian on our side we will make it happen. And those of you who know will appreciate it. The ones who don't know will also appreciate it.

Use an electric steering box. That doesn't fix the trans tunnel but it will give you the freedom to move it

Possibly. But Daryl's OCD would kick in and then we would end up shifting the drivetrain. So best to just move it from jump. haha...

Sounds like a headache. Basically gotta reengineer the car. widening the trans tunnel may affect seat placement.
It is a headache. But nothing we haven't encountered before. Seat placement is thrown off a little but nothing major and won't affect drivability.
