  • The GR Yaris got the diff overheated and a well driven Mini JCW GP2 showed up in front. I thought why not go for FWD vs FWD ? Please enjoy!

    • @GreatMotors
      @GreatMotors  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In my first season I never had it appear. Unfortunately it was kind off recurrent in this second track season with the GR Yaris. After 3 hard laps it would show somewhen on the 4th lap.

      According to Best Motoring video interviewing a respected tuner in Japan (title: 1050kg GR Yaris with 65kgm torque " Tsukuba Attack"【Hot-Version】2022), the Toyota GR Yaris will switch to FWD once you reach a certain torque threshold with stock awd controller (something like 45kg/m).

    • @CDM33333
      @CDM33333 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@agondokusumo-111 I think non-stock torque is another limiting factor. But on standard ecu, map and engine its due to the type of driving you do (track use), the way or how much you push, and tires and its grip. Outside temperature it’s also a big factor, of course.

    If you want get rid of the 4wd heating cutout go for the Syvecs AWD Module for the Yaris

    • @GreatMotors
      @GreatMotors  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Well if it overheats you need to prevent that. Disabling this safety mechanisms doesn't sound wise :/

    • @alfo40
      @alfo40 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@GreatMotors Of course, but the factory setup is very very conservative. The system has been vastly tested on race environment and it can handle higher working temp without any issue. Then there are few more advantages: the syvecs module is fully programmable and you not only can increase the cutoff temperature as you wish but it will run through a strategy reducing the pressure of the clutches when it detects you're getting closed to safety cutoff. You basically won't run into the sudden 4wd to 2wd mode but, if it is the case, there will be a smooth transition. I have the module on my car as well as all the cars running in the italian rally trophy and everything is fine. I would go and have a look on the Syvecs website where they explain everything.
