You are always poetic, and I love that about you so much! You are special and sweet. ♥️🧶
Aww, way to make me blush! ☺️🥰 Have a beautiful day!
The alpaca yarn really is beautiful!! I was delighted to see more flower babies, yay! 😊 That's so great you have that photo of your first day of crochet. How special!
Thank you! Yes, I am so thankful my mother took that photo! What a special memory she captured! 💖💖
That scarf is just beautiful! As far as blocking it, I would ask the person you're giving it to. They might not care one way or the other.
Good point! The person it is for doesn't work with yarn, so she might not notice either way. Thanks for your thoughtful response! 💕❤️
The scarf turned out lovely! I don’t think it is necessary to block it because it has a beautiful, organic drape, and blocking will take that away. Have a wonderful day! - Melissa
Hi Melissa! Thank you so much for that insight! I appreciate you! I have had a wonderful day, and I hope the same for you! 💞💕
I was reading other comments and one said that blocking wouldn’t hurt. I wanted to expound on my first comment. I have found that while blocking does give neater edges, it can take away the natural stretch/bounce of the fibers (especially with a fiber like alpaca). It can completely change the way a garment feels and drapes. If you have any yarn left, perhaps you could make a small sample with an open stitch, and block it to see how the yarn responds. It really is a lovely scarf; a “natural” beauty so to speak.
@@user-lx9jh6wh4i Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to come back and provide more details! I really appreciate your wisdom! I haven't done anything with the scarf yet, and you do make some very good points. I did use every last bit of the yarn, so I can't do a swatch. However, your thought about the properties of alpaca fiber are very insightful! Thanks again!
I've found that things look "better" after they have been blocked - however I've never used alpaca, so not sure if blocking would improve it. Thanks for providing me with the perfect excuse for having so many WIPs - by working on so many different projects my hands don't get cramped or strained! 😀
Ah, I'm glad you're giving yourself grace with lots of WIPs! Gotta keep those hands in top condition! 💞💞 I've never blocked alpaca, either, but thanks for your input! 💓💓
I would leave the scarf unblocked & natural. What a lovely work of art!
I also try to switch up WIPs with different weights & hook sizes to help my hand.
Can’t wait to see the alpaca sweater!🧶
Thank you so much for that thought! It really helps to see things from others' perspectives! You are so encouraging! 💞❤️
Hi Mary 🤗 your friend will love her scarf…hmm 🤔 I don’t think it needs blocking! Your flower babies are adorable, yes I do remember those photos, a blast from the past! Thank you for sharing your photo…what a precious memory…that photo is real treasure! 🥰🧶🤩
Ahh, for all the times we groaned when my mother pulled out the camera - and she was proved right to do so! 😂 Thanks for your thoughts on the scarf! It's fun to think that Anne Geddes babies made it down South, too 😂 I hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend and the next week ahead! 💙💙
We were definitely a Sherlock household!!! My daughter was born durning the height of the Anne Geddes phenomenon and my mother and grandma tried (very unsuccessfully) to recreate that effect with her. The pictures are hilarious to this day! I loved seeing 1997 Mary!
Shannon, I have reached the stage of life where, when driving through different places, I point out the window and say "I have a lot of memories there" 😂 Glad I could send you on a trip down memory lane along with me 😂 I'm so thankful for you, sweet friend! 💞💞
@@slowcrochet I’m thankful for you too!! Have a wonderful weekend ❤️
It looks like an avocado 😂 I'm pretty sure it's not though! Maybe a *light* blocking to open up the leaves? Either way, it's lovely! I'm looking forward to wrapping up some projects so I can start mine. That's a perfect 221B Baker Street twist! It really is nice to have a space where we can share our passion and cheer one another on!
Light blocking sounds like a good compromise - less cumbersome than soaking and drying. I may just do that! Thank you! ❤️💕
@@slowcrochet oh! I didn't know the way I typed it would make it bold. I didn't mean to do that; I hope you have a lovely day!
Love the flower babies. I don’t do amigurumi but I love seeing everyone else’s.🥰
Aww, I appreciate you taking the time to say so! 💗💗
I really love that alpaca yarn and the scarf is beautiful! Anne Geddes...yep!
Thanks so much, sweet friend!
Your project look like a future mouse. Maybe for that mouse-along?
I find that when frogging yarn it helps to pull straight up instead of to the side. Love that scarf❤❤
Good eye for mice! 💗🐭 Thank you for that tip about frogging! I'll try to keep it in mind next time! I appreciate you sharing your wisdom! 💓💓
Thank you from the UK
You're welcome! 💞❤️💌
Lovely scarf! I remember the Anne Geddes craze well. My mom gave me a book of hers once, with tons of those cute baby photos. I think I also had some journals and diaries with the images 😅 Wow, what a flashback!
So fun to remember those quirky pieces of the past!
I'm always cold when we go to stores or restaurants during the summer. 😂
😂😂 Air conditioning can be a double-edged sword, but at least that means our wearables can get use for longer 😂
Hey Mary! The flower babies a adorable! Oh yes, the cute Ann Getty babies.🥰 I think you may be making a mouse.🐭 Have a great day!🤟🏻
Look at us, strolling down memory lane together 😂😂 You have very good intuition, my friend! 🐁💞
@@slowcrochet 🥰
I was not surprised at all when I saw that was alpaca yarn, so pretty. The flower babies are so darn cute! I loved to see the picture of you, and now I know how much older than you I am. 😉 haha As far as blocking the scarf; I have chosen not to block and regretted it later. If you do block and it wasn't "needed", have you hurt anything? Personal choice and how you can let it go or not. 🤗
Aahhhhh yes, the big age reveal 😂 Good point about how blocking doesn't hurt - but sometimes it makes *just* the right amount of difference! You've given me something to ponder, dear friend! Thank you! ❤️❤️
I am confused... Why are you unable to show the cover on a library book. I do it all the time...Am I not supposed to?
Awww what a sweet photo of you❤
Great question! This book has an extra label on it which has my personal information on it! I can't take that label off since it came from a library from another state. Regular library books are fine! 💗💗
@@slowcrochet oh ok 👍
