For this model i used the boolean and remesh workflow combined with a tradition high poly workflow. If you're talking about painting away skewed normal what I do is bake to normal maps, one with a cage and one with out a cage. The one without the cage will not bake bevels properly but it will perfectly capture floater geometry so I just use a texture to mix between the cage normals and the uncaged normals. Heres the thread on the technique for high poly if your interested: polycount.com/discussion/168610/3ds-max-zbrush-proboolean-dynamesh-hardsurface-workflow-tutorial
@@loldoblender625 thanks. Btw, any particular reason why you didn't used baker addons? ( the free ones are Textools, EZ Baker, EasyBake, BakeLab 2, Principled Baker). The floaters doesn't ruin your Ambient Occlusion baking? Substance Painter have the "Ignore Backface for floating geometry", how'd you mimic that same feature with Blender?
@@loldoblender625 I'm personally trying a different approach by using bevel shader for small bevel + chamfer with weighted normal + decals, here an example twitter.com/veezen3d/status/1284889240313237506
@@Toskyval Looks cool. I've tried textools but none of the other bake addons. I didn't have any floaters on this mesh so i didn't have to worry about the AO.
Grenade and that musik :D I LOOOOOVE IT
Thank you :)
I found your channel a few days ago. Thanks for all the vids!
No problem :)
nice :D...
Thanks :)
Did you baked using the bevel shader? Also: would you explain what and how you did this th-cam.com/video/vUXGnk1zrMc/w-d-xo.html in a future video?
