This is my first finished model in freecad. It was a bit clunky and confusing but overall I like working with cad. I'm by no means done working with blender but freecad is also something I would like to look into. this addon looks awesome!! I could really use it in my projects, if you don't mind could you send me the link? I couldn't quite make it out from the video audio and the closed captions didn't help :(
So i was so confused when u did shade smooth after auto smooth i was like "is it even possible" or "it doesn't make sense" I'm still clueless what u did there but here i tested with just auto smooth all the way to bake and see for myself .the results kinda ok but there's sort of seam in the map.i guess I'll have to watch whole to find out. In case,I'm taking bout process after 0:15:00

hi probably you will be interested on forum blenderartists search "Bevel after Boolean" and in latest post there are genodes which are connected by the same fillets after Boolean operations p.s. thank you for your videos about freecad...

Snap to vertices needs to be set, and the use control as you moving with 'g' to snap to a vert.

even as somebody with substance painter, this was still incredibly helpful for the techniques as the workflow is basically the same exact thing
Substance seems nice because of all the preset materials that come with it plus the ability to create your own materials in designer, but I think blender is quite capable if you stick to the fundamentals.
@@loldoblender625 yeah blender os amazing. tbh i really dont use the pre-made mats in substance very often and mostly make my own smart materials inside of painter

11:05 doesn't work for me, it stretches my object very weirdly and doesn't get a "magazine shape", any idea why? The origin is also at the top of the magazine, I also have similar coordinates. Please help
Make sure the origin of your objects is set to the top and the scale is applied.
@@loldoblender625 Hey, it was the scale that wasn`t applied so now it works. I`ve gotten further but have another problem, at 20:02 when I click symmetrize, my magazine looks like it got duplicated (it looks like there are 2 magazines joined/glued together) and doesn`t look like it got mirrored like in your video. I have the same direction applied: -x to +x, I tried the other directions but it doesn`t help, any idea why it´s like that for me?
