Someone was trying to get a discount on that tow bill. Hard aground; I don’t think so! 😮
great job
Thanks Earla!
excellent !!!
Thanks Seashrimp!
Man that hurricane blew them from TN all the way down to your neck o' the woods in sunny FL.😉 Thanks for sharing Ken.
Lol 😂
Thanks Mikey!
That must of been real expensive day that’s a long no wake ride
It sure was, and that is why everyone who has a boat should have towing insurance
Seems like some customers just love to find something wrong lol
I love these videos 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hahaha. Thanks Iceman! Most of the people will deal with are pretty good, but the few bad apples are why I started recording my jobs in the first place
Nice job. That looks like it took awhile
Thanks Brian! I think total runtime on this job was somewhere around 9.5hrs
You where center channel and that was a slight rub on the mud 😂
Haha! Not much else I could do about that 😂
guess it depends on whether damaged the running gear or rudders.
You're not going to damage anything by a little bump like that in sand
Great job. Did they moor there and the tide went out or? Why do you pull with such a long line, more whip action or?
Thanks Vancity! They actually tried towing it initially a few days before from the dock with a friends boat and it got blown into that little cove in the process...which is why they decided to call the professionals 😂
When ungrounding a boat, I pull with a long line so that I can get to deeper water, because when my boat squats under the tension of the towline, I don't want my props to be digging through the bottom
@@CaptKenO Ah...got it thanks!
All boats run the same risk of grounding. All you can do is stay in the channel and hope for the best. Some people are always looking for some one to blame. Deal with it.
That pretty much sums it up!
The little boat from EW pulled us off the bar NW of the Tom Adams Bridge at #6 about 8 years ago. If he thought you run him hard aground, I would think he would have been more upset about it at the time. What the heck was the guy doing in the mangroves anyway?
Oh, he was perfectly fine at the time. It was several days later when my boss tried to collect the rest of the money that he tried using that as an excuse to not pay the rest of the invoice
Whadda chump!
Always looking for some other person to pay for their way of life.
Good job Capt Ken!
Thanks Peterbilt!
Unfortunately some people just go through life that way 🤷
Made it look easy
Thanks Jake!
what kind of botten did they hit thet while you towed them? soft mud? sand? rock?
Either sand or mud. We don't really have rocks around here
That’s the thanks for you being nice and getting them to a safe place 👍👍
Yep 😑
As we say at the cycle shop I currently work, “No good deed goes unpunished”….
What does it matter that he ‘touched bottom’ if there was no damage caused. You can only keep to the channel. Why was the other Captain claiming he was ‘run hard aground’? He seemed such a nice fella, not the type who’d complain bitterly? Just goes to show, I suppose, you never can tell who is going to gripe when they receive a hefty tow bill?
Some people will do anything to get out of paying what they owe 😕
Hard Aground STOPs a boat ... that was nothing!
Lol 😂
No kidding! He was just trying to get a discount on the cost of the job since he was paying out of pocket
What’s the tow bill for something like that? Or the hourly tow rate m?
I forget what the total cost was...but for non members, it's $400/h
A lot depends on the amount of Damage.....scrap marks don't count ???
There wouldn't be any damage and probably not even scratches
Engine failure both engines ?
Don't know, but he wasn't making that trip on one engine either way
What a dbag, trying to accuse you of doing something wrong to get money off the tow. They probably cheat with everything else in life.
Which is the whole reason I started recording my tows in the first place!
They must be democrats 😩
Hey Ken, the camera angle made that boat look like a floating ball 🤣 wasn't real sure what u were doing in this one, thought u were towing them out to go fishing.. rather expensive fishing day!!!! Ok No u did not run them aground hard, yes they hit but if they were under their own propulsion they would have hit anyway. ? Have u got flashing towing lights, to inform other boaties, that uv got a vessel under tow. Wow uv got a lot of bridges over there.
Haha. Yeah. That fov on the 360 camera with something so close does look weird 😳
I sure do have flashing lights...but most people don't give a f**k
@@CaptKenO Well they'd give a dam when they get decapitated from the tow rope, some people are just so stupid and irresponsible. Hava good one 👍
It did scrape the bottom so by definition it “ran aground” but what are you gonna claim 200ml of anti foul.
