This video shows just how good of a man Jerry is, as a shooter and being willing to teach others how to improve their techniques for FREE. What a stand-up guy.
Who in the hell, gun haters included, could downvote this guy. Obviously a heck of a nice guy dedicated to a craft for all of life. Love guns or hate them, respect the man for sharing his love of shooting with us. In case you were unaware downvoters, it was men with guns who paved the way for you to sit in your mom's basement spreading. hate.
Not taking anything away from him, but he isn’t doing it for free. When you have a million subscribers and your videos get 2 million views, you’re making some good money from TH-cam. But it’s a win-win because we get it for free, and Jerry still gets paid for it.
As a former grunt who's been shooting almost my entire life and learned from an SF sniper (my father) this video (or you specifically) still taught me something. Love your videos!
Jerry, as the most respected shooter in the world, it is really cool how you never ever shy away from talking about gun safety. I started shooting at 34 and have influenced the guys that I shoot with to use chamber flags and now they all do. I did not grow up with firearms, so I feel really fortunate to have been essentially trained by the greatest to ever do it. I really appreciate you and these videos. Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to produce a highly instructional video, Jerry. I made sure to take a lot of notes and will try to incorporate that into my runnin' and gunnin' come spring. A tip for those of you shooting Berdan-primed ammo: Remember that it releases corrosive salts that can cause rust and pitting in your barrel and the gas system. Make sure to rinse WELL with hot water any parts of your rifle that the gas will get to (probably pretty messy with DI AR's, a lot easier with piston guns). Many SKS'/Mosins/858's were ruined on our side of the border by not cleaning out the corrosive salts deposited by cheap milsurp Berdan-primed ammo.
0:28 It is that moment when he shoulder-fired the 50 cal: CONSECUTIVELY that I realized that Jerry would probably be as strong as an elephant and has drank too much booze that morning.
As an old Jarhead that's getting into shooting more and more now that I can afford it a bit more. I appreciate the tips. I was out last weekend using similar stance and hand placements. I've learned a lot from watching Pro's like you and others. Hand placement for the left hand has changed since I was in ( 90's ). However, I've found just as always adapt and over come to become better. Thanks again for the great tips!
Sir: you have a great ability to to make people understand. As a former photo and video journalist. i will love to video and photograph your style in a competition or just teaching.. Great job.
Never having shot an ar15, Jerry is a big help getting good results fast. He's clear, in-depth and thorough. What a professional. He makes me believe i can be that fast if I just had enough ammo! Thanks Jerry!
When I talk about professionals, I mean this guy. All other "veteran" videos on youtube dont matter. "Oh hey, I did a tour, I can shoot straight. Im an expert..." Please. This man explains simple. To the point. Not that would be my personal preference, but as a logical, efficent approach!
Navy SEALs train with professionals from all over the world in many different skill sets. I heard him say he works with top military professionals I'm sure he has worked with SEALs
Yeah that's true. I read somewhere(in one of Dick Marcinko's books probably) that SEAL Team Six, by itself, used more ammo than the entire Marine Corp one year, and you know Marines are known to be good riflemen. If you shoot that many rounds, and then go into real gunfights against trained baddies, and you are still walking around, you can pretty much trust what the guy says(about combat. Of course many of the skill sets carry over from competition into combat as well.)
Jerry Miculek, What can I say. I have watched his video's for a long time and I want to say he is the by far the BEST ambassador of the shooting sports there ever was. He takes the time to explain his extensive firearm knowledge in a professional manor to the common shooter, Military, gun enthusiast, professionals and folks who have never shot before. If you listen to him he will teach you what not to do and to do it the right way the first time. He has over 30 plus years shooting in competitions so if he says something I tend to listen to it and incorporate that in my training. I wish I could meet him someday. Maybe one day take one of his classes in Louisiana. Anyway use the valuable knowledge he is giving you and use that in your training and you will do just fine. Get some!!!!!! Be safe - Andrew, the Gunshine State.
I have just recently purchased an AR 15 Ruger. This video is a gem for anybody, especially for the beginner who doesn't have to retrain over bad habits. I highly recommend this video.
Best comp I've ever had! Bravo, Jerry! Oh, did I say it's being used on .223/5.56 Kalashnikov as well? (Got trophies to back up its efficiency). UPDATE (2018): 4 Jerry's comps used on different rifles. Once in a while I keep buying another "the best thing since sliced bread" just to remove a week later and replace with "tried and true" Jerry's marvel. Save your pesos: get Miculek's, move on and never look back.
This video literally covered every question I had. I'm a pretty darn good shot with pistol and I can bench shoot over 1000 yards with rifle. But I realized that I really suck at standing and shooting rifle today. You have given me great foundation to start with! You're a legend and an idol Jerry!
My God, when he took that fifty calibre and shot it from his shoulder my jaw hit the ground!! His looks are deceiving he is strong as a bull and a shootist extraordinaire!!
Yea and the break dose a lot as well. Quite a few are seen free standing with them. However they aren’t light, so that is interesting he has no issue moving it about.
Jerry is such a sweet guy. He is just an old fashioned hard working guy that is sharing his knowledge. If anyone has earned everything from hard work, dedication and skill its him. Show some support to a legend hes not asking for a handout like lots of other channels you see he has real life experience and time tested training in this video and or muzzle break. Thanks Jerry for your time and we hope to see more content throughout the years.
I watched the first 5 minutes and had what I wanted out of the video. But I stuck it all the way through just because of how sincere he was. Class act.
lerntohistory 18 seconds into the video, you see him using the Vortex Strikefire... And that is what I'm referring to... the fact that he has it mounted on one of his firearms is endorsement enough for me.
I would love to hang out on a range one day and learn as much as I could. More importantly, get to know the man for who you are as a person, not just the shooter.
everyone are very great trainers...BUT Jerry for me has taught me more than anyone because of his teaching methods..Convening what you want people to get makes the best teachers.....Thanks Jerry. awesome!
Got schooled by Jerry Miculek himself! A lot of people would pay money to get instruction from this man. I feel fortunate to have access to his tips and tricks. He's the best alive.
John here love watching you shoot no matter what you shoot Jerry so impress the first time I saw you shooting your pistol faster than any one person and I know your family shoots as well super video as always.
My dad and I are both getting into competition as a hobby and just shot our first Steel Challenge match. I might have to order your DVD as a Father's Day present... though the son might watch it more, lol.
Jerry you are my hero! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge it has made me a great shooter. And the 20 plus people I have brought to the world shooting&marksmanship.keep up the good work!
Mr.Miculek, I just recently purchased a Windham M4 and a s&w m&p9mm. I really love how informative you are and hope that one day I can be as proficient in the use of my firearms as you. I enjoyed the cleaning vid on the AR15, so much detail. I also watched a few more vids of basic rifle shooting that will help me develope a style. I can not believe how lightening fast you are. Thanks for sharing and I am a subscriber🖒!
Just do a Google search for it I just ordered mine can't wait to get something the legend hisself designed and for so cheap(price wise) wouldn't dare spend 3 to 4 ×s as much for others when this is available to the public man we are lucky thank you sir thank you
The SCAR’s factory muzzle device is not an FN product. It’s a Primary Weapon Systems (PWS) Flash Suppressing Compensator (FSC), and FN chose it because it is awesome.
Don't take offense to the turds. 90 percent of people on you tube are lazy overweight, no skills having, losers. Dumb liberals. I wish I could shoot half as good as Jerry.
I wish Jerry could be my early childhood mentor. like an "uncle." The mechanics and reasoning behind set-ups is just as, quite possibly be more interesting than the shooting itself.
Im not saying its not impressive....it is Jerry MF'ing Miculek but the semi auto's don't kick as bad as you think. the massive muzzle break and the barrel recoil system soaks up a lot of it.
This guy can shoot! Man if I could just shoot half as fast and accurately as Jerry, I could die happy. Thanks for the awesome vids... Please, Keep 'em coming.
I believe I have heard him say that he gets at least 10,000 rounds delivered to his house each month. If he needs more he calls up his sponsor and they'll have another 10k rounds of whatever he wants overnighted to him
im a young shooter only 15 and have been shooting since I was 7 years old...I will have to start getting into this comp shooting! thanks for the inspiration
As in martial arts foot work is key If you would back out with camera and show full body it would really help We know u can hold a bead show below Thanks Jerry
At somewhere around the 15:20 mark, Jerry says that he is going to do some slow fire demonstration to show us something. My first thought was Jerry Miculek...slow fire? I wonder if it actually causes him any physical or mental pain to do something slowly with a firearm? Thank you, Mr. Miculek, we do appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge with us.
Jerry's got to have the best job in the world! Bar none! I'd also bet he hasn't had a hard time finding a source for ammo, especially .22LR!!!!!!!!! Kidding aside, I hope at some point Jerry puts out a book, not just of his life's journey in shooting but also the tips , tricks, observations, findings and teachings the Master has acquired over the years. He's tops in his class. Now they do say that it's lonely at the top..........but from where I stand, it looks like he's having a blast!!!!!!!!
The modern school of thought is both eyes open. Takes a bit of getting used to but has a number of advantages least of all situational awareness so you can spot other threats and you can always close one eye if the situation dictates. Just as comment on the Miculek Comp. I never believed in comp's on a rifle. Then I purchased one of these from Brownells. WOW ! ! ! Just WOW ! ! ! That's all I can say about it. I could not believe the difference it made. Now all my AR's and TAVOR shoot like a 22LR because of this comp!
Hi Jerry,I have a schmiesser built ar15 with a 20 inch Barrel, 1 to 9 twist, I reload with a 62 grain fmj,,real good video I learnt a lot with stance and grip, something to think about and practice.

He doesnt lose out by giving us this for free. He makes his money in private training for the military and police force.
Not taking anything away from him, but he isn’t doing it for free. When you have a million subscribers and your videos get 2 million views, you’re making some good money from TH-cam.
But it’s a win-win because we get it for free, and Jerry still gets paid for it.
Jerry is a stand up guy all around. Out of all the gunners on TH-cam, I always come to him for training tips first.
Humble too.
Jerry has fired literally millions of rounds and he still gets excited every time. I love this guy.
As a former grunt who's been shooting almost my entire life and learned from an SF sniper (my father) this video (or you specifically) still taught me something. Love your videos!

Jerry proves the saying, "Never grow up..... Never Grow Old!"
Great teacher and he's so calm and very specific. Thanks for sharing I'm starting my shooter sport at 41, wish me luck.
this man single handedly keeps barrel flag companies in business. lol
Everybody wants the best quality muff they can have, Jerry. I absolutely love high quality muff.

Mr Miculek is an absolute national treasure and this youtube channel is a treasure trove of knowledge.

Honestly how the fuck did he do that lol 😂
semi auto .50s are really not that bad. theyre no push over but there are several videos of guys man handling semi auto .50s
have you ever shoulder fired a .50 before?

Personally, I haven't. I'm in a country where you can't legally own guns, or fire one. Hell, even BBs are restricted. Just an enthusiast.

Its nice to see that he uses a Vortex Strikefire optic... goes to show you don't need to spend big money on your red dot ...
I know right!
Both optics are Vortex Razor not strikefire.
... watch it again
lerntohistory

I love how Jerry takes the time to explain the terms he uses & the details on minute movements that contribute to his overall success !!!
Champion Shooter? I think he's more like a Legend, one BAMF.
This is another great instructional video from Jerry. No BS tacticool nonsense, just the basics.
I would love to hang out on a range one day and learn as much as I could. More importantly, get to know the man for who you are as a person, not just the shooter.

For a neophyte shooter such as myself this video contains an enormous amount of excellent shooting information. Looks like I'll be buying that DVD.
0:29 when someone sneaks up on you and you have a sniper rifle in MW2
No.
Just no.
No this is real shooting.
One cod ghost is out and two this is real life
get out and shoot!
Possibly my favorite Jerry video-- definitely my most used!
Got schooled by Jerry Miculek himself! A lot of people would pay money to get instruction from this man. I feel fortunate to have access to his tips and tricks. He's the best alive.
This guys intro is perhaps the greatest thing I've seen in months.
Jerry can clear a building by himself with a .50
While wearing slippers sipping coffee from his kitchen.
And it's his neighbor's house
In Iowa, where your closet neighbor is 4 miles away.
Thanks Mr Miculek for your expertise and knowledge
That compensator is absurdly good, haha. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
John here love watching you shoot no matter what you shoot Jerry so impress the first time I saw you shooting your pistol faster than any one person and I know your family shoots as well super video as always.
12:50 Look at all that ammo! :0
I want!!! :D
Made me drool a little... ok... A LOT!!!
my thoughts exactly
Probably several hundred thousand rounds on just that single wall.
he is the armed force
I love watching Jerry shoot. He has so much fun! And awesome about the video. I just ordered it. Can't wait!
I use your compensator on my ar15. Cant beat it, especially for the price!
Jamie Smith I saw something a while back that had his name on it. What's the name of it and what's the price? My other option was a SJC Titan for $90
TJ4774 I had seen it back ordered on Brownells. it's 60 bucks
Squid master, and do you still hear? Thats the loudest dam thing I ever.
I only use the best possible muff wink wink
Love that Cajun accent Jerry and love your analogies. Most guys don't use fence posts as examples. Reminds me of my dad.
M1Garand at full auto speed! GIT SOME!!!!
My dad and I are both getting into competition as a hobby and just shot our first Steel Challenge match. I might have to order your DVD as a Father's Day present... though the son might watch it more, lol.
When you see this pro shoot this fast, it makes you wonder what limiting the sales of full auto weapons actually do lol.
Everyone knows it achieves nothing. It's to restrict and control of the population. That's all it's ever been about.
Are you kidding there are no full auto rifles it's semi Jerry , 3 Jerry setting and full Jerry setting
